To date, the job has still not been completed (2 weeks after job was scheduled to be completed). He informed me that our roof would take 1 day to remove shingles, and a day and a half to install new skylight, re-shingle, and clean up. The back porch required the facia to be wrapped in aluminum, and he had a dry-waller that would work on the bathroom ceiling that needed to be cut out and replaced. Ron required half of the payment up front, and the other half after the job was completed. When I came home from work on his "last day", his dry waller only taped and spackled the ceiling, rather than cutting it out as we agreed. As a result, the job now requires to be redone, as there are water spots all over the spackled area. When his drywaller never showed up on Monday, I contacted Ron to be informed that his drywaller was fired (over the weekend?). I told Ron that I would simply do it myself, as it was apparent that Ron was cutting corners. Ron started the back porch job, and informed me that he only needed to return for about 15 mins to complete wrapping the facia. He asked to be paid, and assured me he would be back to finish the job the following week. I agreed to pay him (my mistake) and he has not answered or returned my calls since. I would not recommend R.L. Welsh for any roofing or siding work. He was unprofessional, cuts corners, and does not communicate. I am now looking for another roofer to finish the job, or correct the problems caused by Ron.
Description of Work: Ron Welsh (owner) was hired to replace a skylight, re-shingle our roof, as well as cut out and replace cracked drywall in our bathroom (from leaking skylight), and wrap our back porch facia with aluminum. I asked that if there were any additional things that appeared to require attention, such as chimney flashing, plywood that required replacement, or additional items, to please include that in the job. The original bid was simply an amount written on a contract form, so I asked him to come back to our house, and go over in detail the job, and to please itemize the work to be performed on the contract, which he did.
