Express Concrete

Absolutely wonderful from the beginning. Don described in detail, both verbally & via written quote, what would be done. We made some changes as the work was being done and he took those in stride. He explained the curing process so that we would not be concerned when we saw a different color cement than we expected. He stated that once he finished the walk he would use an acid wash on it to clear the protective coating and then finish up the sealing/coloring. Overall, it was a great job that was handled in a very professional manner. Would definitely use Express Concrete again, and we have already given his name to friends and neighbors!

They gave me a detailed estimate, and explained how 4000 psi concrete in better than lesser types. Showed up on time every day, got the project done in a few days. There was one glitch, in that I wanted a pad between the sidewalk and the street; I'm not sure if this was included in the original estimate, even though I pointed to my neighbor's house and said I wanted a walkway just like his. However, to their credit, they went ahead and dug out and poured the pad at no additional expense, with no argument at all. I appreciated that. Also, I think the job was more difficult than they expected, but they got it done on schedule.

Unfortunately, my experience with this company mirrors that which was reported by another customer below. Based on the many overly positive reviews found on Angie's List - coupled with a review of the company's website - I attempted to contact the company via email using an address found on his facebook page. After two days of not receiving a response, I attempted to contact the sole operator/proprietor via phone ... leaving a voice mail message ref'ing the aforementioned email and providing my contact information. To this date, I have not received so much as a one liner or a return phone call from the owner. I had indicated in my email those issues I was curious about, in part based on one website comment which states "No job is too small for us.", with a follow-up question/statement regarding my physical location and whether it would/would not be considered within his service area. Apparently this individual believes its better to not respond to a customer (potential or otherwise) whose business they are not interested in than take the time to provide a simple reply to an email inquiry with a one line response or a quick phone call. However, in the time that has passed, the sole owner/proprietor has found the time to create/submit four facebook entries engaging in the self-promotion of his company.

It went very well. Don did an excellent job of resealing our stamped concrete patio. He took every precaution to make sure the weather, etc. was right to do the job. He cleaned the patio thoroughly and came back to apply the sealer. He paid attention to every detail imaginable. The patio looks like new or as new as it can for the short time we've had it. Unfortunately, I did not use Express Concrete to do the original job instead I used S & S Decorative Concrete and the job was a disaster. Mr. Sherman from S & S made no effort to resolve our problems. The problems included chipping, cracking and blowouts among other things. We took him to court and won by default but have been unable to collect on the judgement against S & S. Stay away from them please!!!. If the resealing project is any indication of Express Concrete's work ethic and attention to detail, I would highly recommend using him for any concrete project you have. Great company, A+!!

Don and his helpers arrived on time and quickly started the job. All were professional and did an excellent job. The whole process took 2 1/2 days. We are extremely happy with the finished product.

Mr. Bridy, was very responsive and professional. He was detailed in explaining the work to be completed. He kept me informed of the schedule and what work was to be completed during the construction. Quality work was completed in the time quoted and the price was right. My new driveway and walks look beautiful. I would recomend Express Concrete.

This project took the greater part of two days. They arrived and finished when they said they would. The first day was used in tearing up sections to be replaced. They removed all debri at the end of the first day. The second day was used for pouring concrete and patching areas previously identified by owner(myself). Personnel were pleasant to work with. Would recommend this company to anyone and will use them again if I have the need.

Don was punctual in returning our request for an estimate. The work was started right on schedule, was high quality and completed quickly. Don went the extra mile to add footers under the slab to ensure slab stability. He and his crew also cleaned up the job better than any contractor I have dealt with over the last 30 years. Great job, highly recommended.

I joined Angie's List 4/12/13 looking specifically for a company to install a patio, after reading all of the glowing reviews for Express Concrete I decided to call them and set up a appointment for an estimate. I left a message with all pertinent information needed and waited for a return phone call. As of this date 5/1/13, I have not received any response from this company or it's representatives so I am left with the impression that perhaps they pick and choose who to do business with. Professionalism begins with returning a customers' phone call.

Don and his crew did a great job. The patio turned out perfect and all for an unbelievable price! I would (and already have) recommended Express Concrete's services to anyone.

I called Don and he returned my call within a few hours. We agreed on a time to meet and he arrived at that time, looked at the job and gave me an estimate. He seemed very knowledgable and professional and I ageed to the price. He told me it would probably be several weeks before he could do it and I told him that was not a problem. About a week later he called and said he could. weather permitting, squeeze my job in the following week. I was at work when he arrived on the given day, but he and Keith were still here when I got back home around noon and had the area cleared, forms up and stone in place. He told me that they would be back in the next day or two - weather permitting. to do the pour. The next day was overcast, with the prediction of rain, so they came back the following morning and finished the job. The pad is excellent - exactly what we wanted. Finding a contractor who shows up when they are supposed to, gives you a competitve, accurate estimate of the cost, does quality work and does that work when they tell you they are going to do it has unfortunately become rare. In the future when I have concrete work to be done, I'll be calling Don at Express Concrete.

Don was extremely friendly and responsive in giving his initial quote and was willing to work with me on exactly what I wanted. Once it was time to start the job, he and his team showed up on time and was able to complete the job on time and within the budget. He even went the extra mile and ran to the store to purchase the right drainage pipe after I purchased the wrong pipe. The finished product could not have come out any better and is exactly how I envisioned it when I first met with him. He and his team did a fantastic job.

Don and his team arrived promptly to start the job. If there was going to be a delay in the work due to weather conditions, Don would call and inform me of the delay. He would resume the job when he said he would. All total with the weather delays, the work was completed in a little over a week.

Don showed up promptly for the estimate, thoroughly explained what he would do, and took the time to answer my questions. Got several estimates, but Don's was the most competiitive and complete. The work was completed as described, and when we ran into unforseeable subsurface conditions, he handled them competently and completed the work without delay. I would definitely use him for any future concrete work.

We called Don 2 weeks ago for an estimate. He showed up promptly and gave us an estimate on the spot. Since his price was the best one we had gotten, we asked him to do the job. He did everything he said he would, and his workmanship was excellent. We were very pleased with his professionalism, his promptness and his workmanship. He will be our only call if we should need any more concrete work done.

Don was able to squeeze my job into his schedule, which I appreciated. He was competetive with other bids I got on the job. This was the first time using Express Concrete. I have other properties and used many other contractoirs in the past....You never know what you are going to get with the first time using a new contractor. Let me say that Don is my new concrete guy. He has an old school work ethic and was at the jobsite the entire time working with his other employee. His attention to detail, suggestions for the job and overall experience was top notch. I would recommend Express Concrete to anyone and would use again.

Overall, Don and his team did an excellent job. They are on time, work quickly and professionally and left the site clean as a pin. Don is in contact during the job to let you know what's next and when it will be done. It was a quick job and I couldn't be happier.

Don Bridey, representing Express Concrete, arrived shortly after I phoned, listened carefully to my concerns, explained what needed to be done to correct the drainage problem, and agreed to work with the landscaping firm that had been engaged to handle other drainage problems on the property. Bridey's written proposal was very detailed but clear and easy to understand. The price was competitive, and, of course, Express Concrete has an exceptional reputation in this area, which led me to hire them. The job took two days as set out in the contract. A change suggested by the landscaper after I had signed the contract complicated the job a bit, but Bridey was totally in agreement with the change and made adjustments to the original proposal and construction to address the change suggested by the landscaper. The final product has met not only my expectations, but also the expectations of my landscaper. The new sidewalk is attractive and also has improved the drainage problem, the major reason for engaging Express Concrete. An excellent outcome!

Called back immediately. Set a time for an estimate. Received the estimate in a timely manner. Scheduled the work. Weather caused a few day delay. Showed up when he said he would, did what he said he would do and left. Had to wait a little longer because of his backlog of work - but he was worth the wait. Very easy to work with - no surpirses.

Don was very quick to respond to the initial phone call and to come to give us an estimate. He gave a lot of detail about what work would be performed. It was about 3 weeks from the time that we talked to him that they started the job. He was very good at communicating with us about that. Shortly after they started, Don hurt his back and was out of commission for a few days- and they also had another big job they were doing at the same time. The rain also delayed things. It's easy for them to get behind for various reasons. Don was very apologetic about all this. We had erected a temporary fence for our dogs at the front of our house so the delays were not a big problem. Both of the patios turned out beautifully. We are very pleased. They look great and you can tell that they were very well done. There is attention to detail, such as the J-Channel up against the house and siding. The design where our hot tub went was tricky- joining several areas of already-poured concrete and Don's idea of how to do it was very beneficial. It also looks great. We would definitely use Express Concrete in the future.

They were excellent and I would highly recommend them to anybody. The owner was excellent and they did fine work.

Don was quick to respond to our phone call, gave us an honest and competitive estimate and assisted in obtaining permits for the project. He was very knowledgable about his stamped concrete products and even let us speak with a fomer customer and see an example of his work. He really understood the look we were going for and made the driveway look as if it were historic and appropriate for the home. Throughout the project, he was patient and careful, working around children and dogs, one of which ran through freshly poured concrete with all four paws! Don smooothed it over with a laugh! The end result was a gorgeous, softly curved natural looking brick driveway and a super fun and functional basketball court. This may be the first time I can say the project was painless and even fun the whole way through. We will certainly recommend Express Concrete to anyone and use them again!

I called Don at Express concrete and scheduled a meeting. Don was very flexible to meet when convenient for me. He showed up on time and was very polite and professional. Don took several measurements. He also brought out a brochure with different stamp and color options. Don went into detail step by step what was involved in a stamp concrete patio vs. just a regular concrete slab and the additional steps he takes to make sure the stamps impressions are clean fitting together by gridding out the joints so there are no imperfections down to the sealing application and process. Don gave us a few recommendations on the patterns that he thought would work best with the area and look that we wanted. He also gave us 2-3 contacts to go visit to see other Stamp jobs that he has completed. I went two of the houses and both people were very pleases with Don and his work. I met with other Concrete companies and they didn’t explain in detail as Don did, and I did ask to see their response. My patio wasn’t just a square area either. I had an exiting curved block wall around a tree and my wife didn’t want just a bunch of straight lines so Don came out a second time and worked with us on designing the patio and walk way. This area also had our out door Air conditioning unit which Don framed around and was able to poor and stamp around as well. The whole process took about 4-5 days. After the area was torn out and the framing was installed Don allowed us to make any tweaks to curves of the patio that we wanted. In the end we were very please with his work. The patio made it through two winters now and we have not had any issues with cracking.

Very impressive. From the intial call,that was returned almost immediatly,to the reasonable estimate and finished product,this company truly earned an A. When the scheduled date arrived,they were there, in the rain to tear out the old sidewalk.The owner of the company ,Don, was there the entire time and you can tell there is pride in the workmanship.I highly recommend Express Concrete and will be using them for my next project,replacing my wood porch with a concrete one .
