Dear Mr. [Member name removed], Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, you are apparently reviewing the wrong company and we would appreciate a retraction. Our records indicate the following... We installed your water softener on 10/17/2000. That's 15 years ago, not 4. We have no record of you placing a service call with our company since 11/9/2011 and that was not for a flooded basement. If you are having a service issue, let us know and we would be happy to take care of whatever problem you may have with your system. We do not know what company you had come to your home for your recent service but it was not us. Angie's List is a great service as long as the reviews are reasonably accurate. Please retract this inaccurate review and let us know if you need our services. Thank you.

Service was prompt , about 1/2 an hour. Service technician did not explain or show filters that were replaced and why. This is usually part of their service call.

They were prompt. They have a great product and did a good job putting it in. Their service was fabulous. The system was worth every penny. They will let you finance it with no interest for 1 year.
Description of Work: They sold me a water softener. They installed an energy efficient softener. It is an Aqua Sensor Powered of the Culligan HE series.

The old system was about 30 years old. They didn't just try to sell me a system, but figure out what I actually needed. They took the time to figure out how I used water in my house and then recommended the equipment and system based upon that. They did the work quickly and efficiently. I was very happy with their service.

Their service has been pretty good. I had asked them to be careful about how they redesigned the pipes since I had other things going on in the closet. They were about 6 inches off as they did the pipes and now I will need to redo the pipes. The system works fine and they have serviced it well if there have been any issues. There has been no charge for them to come back. They had a very small footprint to place the tanks into and also get the pipes lined up. Apparently they just didn't take full notice of that.

They were very good. I am very pleased with them. I have used them twice now. I am definitely impressed with them. I like their products and service. TJ is who I have worked with and I have recommended him out to others who have been impressed as well. They are a little pricier, but their pros outweigh the cons. Their product also comes with a 10 year warranty.

Water softener wasn't working and they didn't fix it. Had them out there a couple of times. Gave up on Culligan's and purchased softener from another company. Make Culligan the last place you go to buy a water softener.
Description of Work: My water softener wasn't working and I called for service. They claimed it was a computer software problem and I needed upgraded and re-booted. Water softener still doesn't work. I ended up buying a new water softener from another company.

We researched your history extensively and found that your water softener was installed on 8/16/2006. You contacted us on 2/16/2011 because your softener was not working. We came out the next day and performed the service you described. After that, we have no record of you contacting us with further issues. Had we been aware that your system was still not working, we certainly would have come back out at no charge to make sure the repairs were done to your satisfaction. They are pretty good. Nothing stands out really, they get it done. It's pretty straight forward. They make their appointments, they call you back and they are pretty good.

They agreed to service on monday by letting themelves in and out. I ask them to have the tech call me on my cell before he left the home. He never did. 2 months later I replaced the entire system with another more customer service geared vendor
Description of Work: Called on a weekend due to issues with iron filter in my home that we had purchased through them 5 years ago. I was leaving on vacation on Sunday morning and on Saturday morning the system would not go through it's cycles it just keep running. Asked them to come and service item on weekend because my daughter would be home and needed water through the week. Told me this was not an emergency and that they would not come out. I told them I was willing to pay the weekend rate and he told me no. Ask him to have his supervisor call me. He also refused service. Both gentlemen were rude and unsympathetic to my service needs

Although this account is technically accurate, the perspective in which it is recalled is different from our company's view. Indeed the non-emergency service call was declined to be performed on a weekend. We respect our employee's days off and we do our best to not interfere with their time to be with their families. Although we do always have service tech's 'on call' for emergencies, we do not require them to dispatch on an evening or weekend if the issue is not an emergency. A customer's insistence that we perform the service on a weekend because of their willingness to pay the additional cost does not constitute an emergency. Arrangements were made to perform the service Monday morning. Unfortunately, continually declining the weekend service despite the insistence by the customer was apparently perceived as being rude. We assure you that there was no rudeness intended. We are sorry for any misunderstanding that may have occurred.

It is an expensive piece of equipment, I apply all the energy and power and all it has to do is turn itself on and open and close its doors once every four or five days, it seems to me that it's not reliable and I had to keep getting it repaired. The guy who came in the first time fixed it, explained a few things and was gone, so that was good.

Customer, Thank you for your review. We appreciate the opportunity to expand on your experience with us and hopefully reassure you that you made the right choice with Culligan. Our records indicate that you purchased your Culligan softener and had it installed on 12/31/1997. You were replacing a non-Culligan brand softener that was not working and you were unable to get service and/or parts for it. You contacted us on 7/28/2008 (your system was just over 10 years old) to report a problem with your softener. Our service technician came to your home on 7/30/2008 and repaired the control valve as well as upgraded the valve to a newer design. The total cost of the parts was just under $70.00 (excluding service charge). The next contact we had from you was on 3/5/2012 to report that you had hard water. Our technician came to your home on 3/7/2012 to perform a very minor repair. The total cost of parts was just under $19.00 (excluding service charge). To summarize your experience, you replaced a non-Culligan softener that could not be repaired with a Culligan softener that, as of the date of your review, was a little over 14 years old. Your Culligan softener had a total of 2 repairs that required less than $90.00 in parts total and both repairs were completed in one trip to your home because our service technician carried a complete supply of parts on his truck. At Culligan, we are proud of the ‘after the sale’ support we offer our customers. We have the ability to repair systems much older than yours. Our service technicians are very knowledgeable with over 20 years experience each and they carry a full line of parts so they can do the job right the first time around. You should also take some comfort in knowing that we should be able to get parts for your model softener for a long time to come and with a worldwide network of Culligan dealers, there will always be a local Culligan Man to take care of your water treatment needs. Work was done exactly as quoted. Installers were professional and did their work quickly. Hauling away the old, very heavy water softner was especially appreciated.
Description of Work: Water softner installed to replace old, non-working one. Plumbing arranged to send water after whole house particle filter to the water softner, but unsoftened water to outside faucets.

After getting several estimates, we decided to go with Culligan even though they were a little higher priced than one of the estimates. The service person gave us a much better detailed explanation of the work that they would be doing. We now have water with no odor. They schedule appointments to have the unit checked for service yearly.
