A1 Sewer Cleaning Specialists

They were prompt and courteous and very professional. Two men arrived ready for anything and CLEARLY were happy to help and proud of the work they did. They cleared out drains that have been clogged for months (maybe years...)-- and made sure to snake all areas around the house. (We have an inefficient "maze" of drain work that was poorly designed many years ago...). They were here for an hour or hour and a half and did not leave until they were sure everythig was perfect. They moved MOUNDS of sludge, mud and odd remnants of broken toys etc.. that must have been in the drains for a very long time. The final bill was $150 which is the estimate they gave us. Since their vist, we had a few major downpours and are relieved that there is NO water in our basement. We would not hesitate to call them again if we need to...

They were terrific. I really thought I needed to do the big $10K dig-up-the-front-lawn thing, and they said no, absolutely no reason to replace this, it's just root-bound. They were at the house for a couple of hours and then it was done. They were super professional and clean and really nice, and we were all very happy I didn't need the big job done, which is very refreshing. I would most definitely use them again, should I ever have the need (I hope not!), and I recommend them highly.

I called A-1Sewer Cleaning Service a day after Roto Rooter came out, snaked and shot a camera picture of the line. Roto Rooter said there was water before the outdoor trap. He thought there might be a break. It would need to be replaced, which meant tearing the deck apart, bringing in a backhoe ( through our neighbor's yard) and digging up the yard and possibly replacing the " possibly" broken pipe. The cost would be $6,254.00! I would have to give them 50% that day, if I wanted the $265.00 initial fee to be included. I said my husband and I needed to discuss and think this over. Couldn't we at least have 24 hours? "No." was his response. A-1 Sewer Cleaning did a thorough job. It's been over a week with total use of water/sewer. No problems and we are not out $6,000. We have contracted for A-1 to come out and snake the line from the outdoor trap to the main water line later this week.

We'd been having some issues with our sewer backing up, and several times other companies had come out to clear the line.. after checking with Angie's List, found A1 and called them last fall. They cleared things out quickly, cleaned up well and the price was reasonable.. they also offer a return visit if we have the same issue within 30 day, and they honored that. Decided to have them run the camera thru to see why we were having such issues. There's a collapse in the line; they suggested a contractor to take care of it - but we've got sewer line protection, so, now we just have to wait for it to happen AGAIN and have the water company's person come out to take care of it and 'diagnose' the problem.

It was easy to schedule with them. They showed up on time and got the job done quickly. Unfortunately, as there was a bend right near the end of line, they needed to come back with additional tools the following day. This was the one dark spot on the experience as they charged additional to come back out to the property, and is the reason I scored them B on price. However, it was worth it because it turned out there was a very visible break in the line in the final 5 feet before the line joined up with the city line. The DVD footage and clear narration from A1 helped us negotiate with our sellers to resolve the issue. Very happy we had the line checked and very satisfied with A1's work.

I called the 24 hour service and was put in touch with the on-call person almost immediately. He was really helpful although extremely swamped with work. He did a great job explaining what could be wrong and did a bit extra with the snake to make sure it won't happen again. The work wasn't cheap because it was the weekend, but we got quick service and a 60 day guarantee.

Lived here for several years with no problems. Over Thanksgiving, we had a back up and brought someone in. Charged us more than 2X A1 and said the problem was fixed. And it was for 5 months. Then the same problem. Brought in another outfit and the problem appeared to be fixed. But after 2 1/2 months it did it again. Mel Brought out the right equipment this time and I could see what he released through the outside trap. Mel was very professional and very need. Even helped me with resecuring the toilet so I know how next time. Very pleased with their responsiveness and attitude. And, I don't think I'll need this service again for a long while.

The initial service did not work and they came out three times until the issue was resolved. They explained what they were doing and had great communication with me.

They are very cooperative in trying to show up as soon as possible, they are the best by far. I have used them for years and they always get the job done. The workman themselves have always been the guys whom if you have a problem, they show up and solve your problem and from a consumer’s stand point, that is helpful. I give them straight A’s, I will not go anywhere else.

Very satisfied, will definitely use them again. If they can't clear the drain, you pay nothing and they will refer you to a plumber. Because they only clear drains/sewers you do not need to worried about being talked into services that you don't need.

Professional and punctual Biggest thing to remember, they only inspect pipes and clean them, they have not conflict of interest to replace anything because they do not perform those services. Matt Mertz plumbing came out to inspect and recommended replacing trap for $2500 because they could not get the camera in the trap. A1 snaked the trap to clean it and gave us a great video

I was recommended by my home inspector to get the sewer checked based on the number and age of the trees in the yard. I looked on AL and found A1, and discussed my situation with them, which was that I didn't own the home, but I was thinking of buying it. They let me know that the owners would have to give them entry, and that was eventually covered by the seller's agent letting them into the home. It was a hassle scheduling a time because my agent had lost her cell phone, but the guys at A1 were really accomodating calling me during the day to update me with their schedule, and later eventually scheduling a time to do the work. A1 was actually on time for the eventual apppointment (the realtors were not). They did a video inspection, assuring us that things were fine, and even sent us a DVD in the mail afterwards. And because they only do sewer cleaning and inspection (and not sewer line repair or any other plumbing), they didn't try to push any extra work on us. $300 isn't bad for service like this and piece of mind. I'd recommend them again to anyone based on how easy they were to work with.

We had a clogged sewer line, and our plumber highly recommended A-1. A-1 came out the first day. They were unable to clear the line because we couldn't locate the clean outs. Even though it was our fault that we did not know where the clean outs were, A-1 did not charge us for coming out. We talked to the prior owner and located the clean outs, and A-1 came back the very next day. The entire job--cleaning the sewer main and clearing other drains--only took about an hour. Great job, Mark and Mike.

I subscribed to Angie's list because I trust no one very much. A 1 was the first listed so I called. Answering service awesome. Phone call in less than an hour. Two great guys showed up with a truck and equipment that looked like they could handle any problem. Cleaned out the line in less than an hour and gave me some advice about how to avoid the problem again. Reasonable and quick. Thanks Mel and Dale. Renewed my faith in service.

While doing laundry on a Monday evening the sewer backed up into the laundry room. I contacted A1 the next day and they came early morning. I barely needed to explain anything since this is all they do! They trimmed up the tree roots and advised how to prevent this in the future. They didn't take long. Don't call any other company! This is all they do and they are very efficient and good at it.

They were right on time.. started immediately and took care of the problem in less than 30 minutes. Cleaned up and gone!

My husband and I spent about 2 hours trying to clean our backed up sewer line with no luck. It was so bad that we actually thought the pipe collapsed. We read reviews about A-1 on Angie's List, and since all the feedback was wonderful, we decided to call them too. I have to say these guys were amazing. They were extrememly professional and treated the problem like it was no big deal. The arrival time for Mel, the technician, was dead on and he was very nice. He was in and out in 30 minutes. Very little mess, didn't try to sell me anything and the price was lower than I expected to pay. I would recommend this company to anyone!

The guys were amazing! They told me exactly what to expect, and that was what happened. I have waited quite a bit to write this review. After having had Rotorooter out here countless times and them telling me that I needed to replace the entire line estimate $7-10k, one visit from A-1 and no more back-ups! They have no skin in the game if you do need your line replaced, their company doesn't provide that service. If there was an A++++ rating, they desrve it! If all you want is honesty and a good job, done at a good price-these are your guys.

Smelled sewage on Monday of Labor Day weekend. They were in the basement by 9am the next morning. Gone by 10am. Friendly, gave lots of advice to prevent future issues. Cleaned very carefully afterwards.

The drain in my basement backed up one night, so I had on of those $99 companies come to clear it. They couldn't get through and told me my line was surely stuck full of tree roots. With an estimate of $13,000, I almost had a heart attack. I am THRILLED I called A-1 for a second look. They were here the day after I called, took less than an hour to clear it completely, there were NO ROOTS, and there's a 6 month guarantee. What an awesome company. While I hope I never have to call them again, if I ever have a problem, they'll be my very first call!

Curtis from A1 came and bore through the very clogged sewer line that was packed with roots!!!! He was amazing - honest, helpful and even got attacked by a swarm of bees from a nest that was near the area where he was working - but he persevered with a can of bee spray and he got the line open. I would highly recommend A1 and will use them again next year.

I am happy to report that I had a great experience with A1, I own a duplex that had water coming up from the sewer in the basement on one side. I called A1 and scheduled someone to come out the next day. They gave me a window of time they would be there and even gave me a 15 minute heads-up call (so we ended up meeting at the duplex the same time). The men who came (Curtis & Mikey) were very nice, professional - and fast! They had it snaked out and flowing in no time. They stayed there and ran water through it to make sure it was unclogged and cleaned up prior to leaving. I only have positive things to say about A1. I will definately use them again and recommend them.
