They were for at least an hour. I think that they are very knowledgeable when it comes to having your drains cleaned. They have always cleaned out our drains. Always right the first time and they have a 30 day guarantee.

The work was performed in a timely manner. They arrived within a reasonable time frame and accomplished the task in around an hour. We were vary pleased with the service, the results and the cost which was fair.

Workers came the morning after I called within the time period promised. They were very knowledgeable and explained the task clearly. I was very satisfied.

We had had a smelly basement drain overflow in the morning and based on their prompt response in the past, we called A1. They responded immediately, and scheduled us for the early afternoon. They arrived on time, and were courteous and professional. They gave us a 60-day warranty on the work performed.

Home inspector felt sewer connection might be clogged. They recommended A1. I called, they came as asked. Sent a camera down the main drain, and explained clearly all the possible defects of the sewer connection. I felt secure, and bought the house.

They are prompt, I'll give them that, and they have a dirty job to do, but I wish they'd been a bit better about cleaning up after themselves. There isn't a lot to recommending clogged pipes, and if you call these guys, they'll be there within the hour. If they'd asked, I'd have given them some old newspaper to put my toilet on, and they wouldn't have had to use my bathmat. But they did, and I had to buy a new one. Of course I was kind of desperate, so I didn't mind as much as I might have.

The staff was late, but they called ahead.

Called company at 11:00 PM and arranged for crew to arrive at 9:30 AM. They were punctual, cleared the drain, cleaned up deposits on floor. I still spent the rest of the day washing and throwing out contaminated personal goods (not their job).

They were very courteous and informative. They scheduled me for the next day. The person called back within 10 minutes. The service was excellent. They were very professional, very courteous, and very explanatory. They were very up front about hourly charges and late hours charge. They were very honest. We were told we needed a hyrdo-jetter from another plumber, but they let us know we did not need that.

When referred to this company, I was told that I would pay for 1 hour and if they finished quickly, they would inspect other drain lines, plumbing, etc. and work for the full hour. The video shows a 15 minute inspection of the line and trap. The worker who performed the inspection only commented on these two procedures. Now that we have moved in, we realize there is a 2nd trap and it does not appear to have been inspected. I think we overpaid, but the benefit of using A 1 is that they DO NOT perform sewer line replacement, so you will get an honest assessment of the line, whether it requires repair or not.

The guys were at my house within an hour of placing the call. They were very friendly and professional, and set to work within just a few minutes of arrival. They explained everything they were doing, and located the source of the problem (tree roots, which they cut out during the snaking). They guarantee their work for 60 days. I cannot recommend this service highly enough. I plan to call them once a year for preventive maintenance.

Service was timely. Workers were courteous and knowledgeable. The company's motto is they will open your sewer or there will be no charge. I was somewhat disappointed because they did not open my sewer but determined that there was a break in the line. Consequently, I had to pay the $269.00 even though they technically did not open my sewer line. I guess you cannot believe everything you read.

I'm just very, very happy. I had been trying to make contact with another company, a plumber that we were hoping to use for a bathroom remodeling job, for more than a week on this issue. I figured that throwing an easy task at them now would give me some indication on how well they would handle the larger job. After a week of leaving messages, I found all of the other favorable comments here on Angie's List about A1. Everything about A1 was simply outstanding. From the initial phone call (where they offered to come out immediately if we needed it), to dealing with the servicemen (who really explained what they were doing), to the price (which was less than plumbers have charged us in the past for similar work). Everything added up a great experience. These guys are not plumbers. They work only on sewer lines, and they really know about the particular problems that sewer lines can have. And the 2-month guaranteed on their work gives me some summertime piece of mind.

These guys know what they're doing. I called Mr. Rooter first because of a big ad in the phone book. They came, tried for an hour to clear the block, failed, then charged us $150 for trying (they wanted $300). Then I got smart; checked A's list and found AL. They came and cleared the block in minutes. I like their charging policy. They'll work for up to an hour to clear the line, if they succeed they charge a flat rate of $119. If they fail they charge you nothing. They specialize in sewers. They have experience and the right equipment.

My phone call was returned within an hour and the service crew was on site within three hours. Crew was polite and efficient. They completed the work quickly. While it has not rained much since, I am sure the work is done well. If not, they provide a 30-day warranty. The price was acceptable. We are pleased with A-1's work.

Overall the work was great. The man came when I needed him to and he actually rearranged his work day to do this. This was right before Christmas so I was especially thankful.

VERY EFFICIENT, CAME PROMPTLY. EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME. WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.

THESE ARE THE PEOPLE TO CALL IF ANYONE TELLS YOU THAT YOUR SEWER LINE NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THEY WERE ABLE TO MAKE A VIDEO EXAMINATION OF OUR SEWER LINE AFTER ANOTHER COMPANY FAILED AND TOLD US WE HAD A COLLAPSED HOUSE DRAIN AND PROBABLY MAJOR SEWER LINE PROBLEMS. A-1 SAID OUR LINE WAS IN ''OUTSTANDING'' CONDITION. THEY SAVED US AT LEAST $2300 (COST OF REPLACING THE HOUSE DRAIN). THEIR CREW WAS COURTEOUS AND VERY COMPETENT.

VERY GOOD SERVICE, EVEN CAME BACK TO MAKE SURE THE PROBLEM WAS TAKEN CARE OF... GREAT PEOPLE....

I FOUND OUT ABOUT A1 WHILE LIVING AT MY OLD HOUSE. A NEIGHBOR HAD THEM OUT ONCE A YEAR. THEY DO COMMERCIAL WORK, BUT ALSO HOUSES. THEY HAVE EQUIPMENT THAT COSTS YOU MORE, BUT THEY KEEP IT SIMPLE. DO A GREAT JOB AND ARE CLEAN, RESPECTFUL AND NICE GUYS. I'VE HAD 3 DIFFERENT CREWS AT MY OLD AND NEW HOUSES AND ALL ARE GREAT. I'VE RECOMMENDED THEM TO ALL MY NEW NEIGHBORS AND THEY ALL ARE HAPPY.

THE SERVICEMAN ARRIVED ON TIME AND CLEANED OUT ALL OF OUR SEWER LINES IN A TIMELY MANNER.
