Replacement took less than one hour, thank goodness because it was a cold day. It was a specially ordered panel since it was no longer made, so that was the main wait (3 weeks?).

My old garage door opener broke and I was considering fixing it. The very nice lady in the office explained the cost of a potential fix and also gave me a quote for a new one. There was no pressure to buy a new one, however. Based on the age of my old one and the good price on the new one I chose to go new. We arranged an afternoon time. I asked that they give me 1/2 hour notice for me to get home. They gave me the notice and their worker was on time. The installer was very courteous and obviously was very experienced. He installed the new unit and ran extra wire so I could have the button in a specific place. He programmed the remotes and key pad and got everything compatible with my second older unit. He cleaned up the work are when he was done and took the old unit for disposal. I like to support small, local businesses over the big box stores and they definitely delivered. Thanks for the good work.

Called K&B on Friday morning; received a call back in the late afternoon on Monday. The representative was polite, however, during the estimate she noted that there was a door on sale "only through today", and it seemed like a hard sell to try and make a decision right then and there. Also, the "on sale" price, including labor, still came in significantly higher than two other estimates, so we decided not to go with this provider.

Smooth, fast, and efficient

I called to schedule an appointment and talked to Jamie who worked in the office. She was very polite and scheduled an appointment and then called the day before to confirm. The technician came out and fixed the problem. The service was top notch and the price was very reasonable.

We had a new Clopay 9130 Door and Lift Master 8550 Opener with Battery Backup Installed by K&B Doormasters in December 2012. Kevin came out for the original estimate free of charge and provided multiple options for me and my wife to choose from in relation to choosing a new door and opener combination. The price was close to other estimates I had received. My wife and I made the decision to have K&B install our new garage door. K&B Doormasters arrived when they said they would, and that was appreciated, especially due to this being a Saturday installation. They setup a temporary work area in my garage. One man was bolting parts on the new garage door while the other removed the old door and opener. The old door, opener, tracks, hardware, springs, etc were removed quickly and placed in K&B's truck for haul away. The new door (with all new hardware, vinyl weatherstop, springs, and parts) and opener were installed quickly afterwards. During the job, Kevin paid special attention to detail to make sure that the door and opener and all of its pieces were level, secured, and fully operational. Once the door was completed, they oiled the door's moving parts, cleaned the door, cleaned up my garage(including sweeping it), set the opener, and checked that the safety settings of the opener were properly operating. He provided the owners manuals for the door and opener to us, and explained the features of the opener.... from how the red rope works to how to program a new remote using the control center on the wall that he just installed. He put a sticker on the wall with his office phone number, website (kandbdoormasters.com) and asked us to call him with any future questions or concerns. When I had the opportunity to watch him and his helper work, it was clear to me that Kevin was envisioning my garage as if it were his. Even the wiring for the "photo eyes" of the opener were run straight, neatly, and stapled every few feet. I feel that if there is one name you can trust with garage doors, K&B Doormasters fits that bill. These folks were a class act from the first phone call to the finished product. Give them a chance to earn your business, just like they earned mine. You'll be glad you did.

It went very well. Kevin checked out many areas which may cause the problem. He noticed that the center bar was popped, probably due from something hitting the door on the outside. He quickly repaired the problem. I should note that is was also bitter cold that night. I have used this company in the past to install two garage doors and openers. The employees are always courteous and polite. They go the extra mile for their customers and are always very professional and very reasonable prices. Kudos to Kevin doing a great job.

I called Angie’s List later in the evening and within a couple of hours I had someone at my house to fix the door. If I had called someone out of the phone book I would not have trusted them to come to my house at that hour, however, because they came from Angie’s List Concierge Service I had trust in them. He was so soft spoken and was very personable, professional, and responsible. It was exceptional that they came out at that hour and did such a great job in the dark! I highly recommend him and his company! This wouldn’t have happened without Angie’s List and their Concierge Service.

They'd previous installed a garage door for me so we called them back. They were A's across the board on this project as well. They used a retired sub-contractor for this particular installation. I was really happy with the way he put the door in.

It was an excellent experience. The first contact was the customer service rep who asked a few questions so that she could recommend a suitable product. Then they came out to my home in order to provide an accurate estimate for the work. I was able to schedule a time that fit my work schedule. The actual install was done a few days later . The technicians were very knowledgeable and performed the work quickly. They also replaced some lost bolts on the door track at no cost. I would highly recommend K & B Doormasters.

Installer opted to use the existing brackets in the ceiling (the ones that hold the rails). This "shortcut" ended up causing the doors to squeal and screech for 10 years until I finally found a company (Jelly's Garage Doors) that knew how to correct it. The springs were rubbing on the rails, causing the awful screeching. K&B came out to correct it, but said there was nothing they could do about it. Jelly's had it fixed in two hours, a few weeks ago. Ten years of aural agony finally at an end! Also, the weather stripping was attached to the wall inadequately with small staples. After a few winters, the stripping fell off. I put it back on myself. They used no caulking between the stripping and the wall. I see some positive reviews here, so maybe they've learned how to do their jobs better in the last ten years. In any event, I would never recommend them to anyone or call them again.

I was presented with a number of options, all at a very good price. The installer was very professional and offered me a cost-savings because he could reuse the track that was already installed. In addition, he tightened up all the bolts on the other door and replaced the light bulb that had burned out. Couldn't have been nicer to work with. I would highly recommend K & B.

They were so nice when providing service I never forgot who they were. I needed service again more recently and called on them again. They repaired/replaced 2 more broken spring. and also identified a problem with the garage door opener. Because of laws, they couldn't fix it but rather had to replace it. They made an appointment to work on the opener. They have always given me good, honest information. They gave me clear and reliable options for a new opener. They are coming back to install a new garage door opener for me as well.
