Jack is the owner and he has a couple of guys work with him. He takes a personal interest in all of the work. He takes great pride in it. He explains the materials and the processes of re-finishing all of the wood.

JACK IS ALWASY THOROUGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND RELIABLE. HE TELLS YOU WHAT HE WANTS TO DO UP FRONT, WHAT IT WILL INVOLVE AND HOW MUCH IT WILL COST AND THEN PROCEEDS TO FOLLOW THROUGHT EXACTLY AS THE SAYS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

Jack and his crew did a great job. The wood looks almost like new, much better than I had hoped it could be in the best circumstance.

Jack was extremely thorough and professional. He built and installed two custom gates on our deck and secured one section that had become loose. He also added new upright pieces to make the staircase safer. He showed attention to detail in his work and was great at explaining in layman's terms what needed to be done and why. Jack gave us a quote that seemed fair, and his final invoice matched his initial quote. He responded promptly to calls and messages and completed the project in a timely fashion. The workmanship and materials are high quality and we're very happy with the finished product. We would definitely consider engaging Jack and JDF Services for future work on our home.

It was great. Jack explained exactly what he would be doing and how long it would take. Several times he would ask what I thought about the work and whether it was all I expected it to be. He and Justin were very pleasant and gentlemanly. They answered all of my questions and gave me information on caring for the deck.

Jack did an excellent job. This is the second time I have hired him. Both time, he has been very dependable and done excellent work. He kept me up to date, before starting the work and during the process. His prices are fair. His quality and attention to detail are top notch.

Jack Fuze came up with a solution to repair the deck and make it look like the repaired area was part of the original deck design. The problem he overcame was that one composite board was broken and could not be replaced with similar material because it was out of production. He even suggested a color of material that would complement the original deck boards, since it was impossible to match the original. His positive attitude and craftsmanship resulted in a finished project that was the work of a class A professional. He gave the project the same care that one would give to furniture. He said what he was going to do and when he was going to do and stuck to the schedule. When he was done, the work area was clean. I would not only hire him again, but I highly recommend him to anyone needing a deck or deck repair.

I bought my first house and the borough inspector required new bolts and some other work in order to secure an old deck attached to the house. Jack took time out of his day to personally call the inspector to make sure his plan for the repair would pass inspection. He then helped me formulate a plan that would comply with the standards and still remain affordable. His personal care and attention to detail were terrific. I have had some bad experiences with contractors in the past, so hiring Jack was like a breath of fresh air. My experience with Jack was excellent. He is honest and straightforward I will use him again and recommend him to friends and family.

The deal was 150 square feet for $99, but through phone conversations, Jack implied that it would probably be more like $600 depending on condition of floor. I decided not to proceed with the project and lost $99.

Jack was knowledgeable and professional. Both he and his son-in-law were hard working, courteous and polite. They were on the job when they said they would be, and they worked tirelessly in hot humid weather. The posts are set beautifully, and the deck never budged. There two men cleaned up every inch of their work area. Finally, we had a family emergency during the completion of the work, and Jack couldn't have been more kind and understanding. We would not hesitate to employ "JDF Services" again, great people and great job!

Jack and his worker did an incredible job on our floors. He had some issues and worked to deal with them (floor had some bad stuff on it). He did a great job of keeping things neat - considering the work being done. He could have walked away in frustration, but his work ethic is incredible and he did an amazing job, given the issues he had to deal with....

I have power washed my deck before with my $200 big box hardware store power washer. Jack (owner of JDF) on day one extensively power washed the entire deck, stairs and railings using what I would consider an industrial power washer. He also used some type of hydro scrubber. Jack made it clear if you want the new stain to adhere for a few years, you will need all the dirt, grime, etc... removed. That is something I could not have done with my own equipment. Two days later Jack with another employee came out (all visits were exactly when he said he would be there) and stained everything using Sherwin Williams Deckscapes. Day three he came out and applied a second coat to the floor of the deck (not railings, etc...). Looks great and everything even down to the days were exactly as discussed upfront.

Upon arrival at my home, he pointed out how un-sturdy the deck was at its foundation and that it would have to be replaced all the way down to there. He explained it by jumping on the deck and it bouncing. I hired him for the full job. The next day he told me he would come out and tear down the deck, and then come back the day after to build a new one. I scheduled the day for him to build it for the 2nd day so I could be home from work for it. He tore down the old deck - LEFT THE ORIGINAL FOUNDATION - and built the new one all in the same day. I never saw a contract, I never saw any of the work - and then he demanded full payment from my unknowing husband. The deck still bounces due to an improper foundation, and we will need to stain it ourselves now that its spring time. I think the manner in which this business was done was shady. I had an argument with him on the phone when my husband called surprised he was being asked for a check due to work completion. Jack spoke professionally, and seemed kind. Even when I was assertive with him on the phone he remained calm and kind. But in no way would I ever feel right about recommending him for any work. I feel taken advantage of.

All went well. JDF was flexible, given time constraints on my side. The deck looks great as do the bedroom and kitchen floors.

He said he would call Saturday morning at 9am, and by 11am I hadn't heard from him. He ended up coming around 3pm.

It took a while to actually get to talk with jack the owner, we played a lot of phone tag with large gaps of time in between calls. Once he finally came to give the estimate, it took a long time to get the actual price for the services and then the contract took several more weeks. I explained that since it was bedrooms he was to refinish and we had to stay in the house and would not be able to leave for the wk he said it would take to do the floors we had to move all the furniture into storage and we needed to do that over a weekend and have him start the work the following Monday. He was in agreement but once we tried to set a date so i could get the storage set up and the help we needed to move the furniture he was unwilling to commit to a date. Then he called and said he would like to start in the evening one week, well that was just not a possibility. I tried to reason with him regarding the time line but he wanted to stay working on outside jobs he had lined up but then if bad weather hit come to do our work. Well i explained that was not a possibility i needed him to commit to starting and staying with just my job till it was complete and not go off to another one if a day of good weather came along. I was trying to get the work started and finished by the holidays but he was not able to commit to any of the available dates i had proposed to him since he was not sure what the weather would allow him to do for his other outside work he had. His work and price were not the issue it was just his inability to commit to a date and time line and the difficulty with communication.

Did JDF services do a decent job of cleaning and painting our deck? The simple answer is "yes." HOWEVER, I must add that firstly, the initial way in which this company was found was via an advertisement in Angie's List stating that the cost for cleaning a 250 foot square deck was $279.00, a fee which was required to be paid up front prior to the company coming out to our home for an evaluation and estimate. After the visit to our home, we were advised that the approximate cost for a 700 square foot deck such as ours would be $2500.00. But when the estimate arrived, it was, very CONVENIENTLY, $2779.00. When I inquired whether the $279.00 would be subtracted from the total cost, allowing us to pay the $2500.00, as one would expect, I was informed: no, babe, you didn't read the fine print, dear. So basically we paid $279.00 for an estimate. Secondly, we were told that as our deck is constructed of the first TREX composite, a non-clear sealant was available to be used so that dirt and stains would no longer sink into the porous surface; however, JDF simply used the same Sherwin Williams Deckscapes stain used to cover the wooden railings, thus leaving it to be the same old dirt collecting surface, in which dirt becomes permanently embedded. Thirdly, when the heavy furniture needed to be removed prior to cleaning, we, the homeowners were expected to do this intense physical activity rather than the company team; frankly, for nearly $3,000.00, I think this task should have been undertaken by JDF. When I voiced this opinion, I was told by the owner: no doll, you have to do this yourself; dear, I've got a bad back. And the owner was alone at this time; although he brought a crew to do the staining and cleaning, no crew was conveniently available to lift and move the heavy objects, causing us to enlist the assistance of a neighbor. When asked any questions, the owner, though a nice, friendly person, nonetheless talked over us, filibustered continually over any concerns, and frequently used mildly offensive, overly-familiar terms such as shortening our names or calling me, a woman, doll, babe, honey, dear, which I find inappropriate in business dealings.

Went very smoothly. Jack was very good about keeping in touch during the whole process. Job was done over the process of two days.

Great! My floor looks great. He was very responsive. He came right away when I called him to look at the floors. He gave some suggestions. He is a nice person and he does what he says he is going to do.

Jack began work Tuesday, 7/22/14 because I needed the use of my front porch that Monday (he actually rearranged his schedule to accommodate me). There was some rain that week, but he assured me that he would be finished with the work by Friday as he would be on vacation the following week. He did finish Friday, in spite of the weather and told me I would definitely be able to use my porch on Monday, possibly Sunday, if I stepped on it and my shoe left no print it would be safe. The porch looked great and I thought all was well, but that was not the case. I didn't need to use it Sunday and Monday was rainy again so I actually did not use my porch until the following Monday, 8/4/14, a full week after Jack assured me it would be OK. The porch seemed a little tacky but no prints left as I walked, so I used it. I soon realized something was wrong, the porch was all scratched up from my grandson's bike, my chair, the dog. I explained all this to Jack, he responded with a message stating this was something that was not his fault or mine. He said it was the first time he had worked with this type of wood and it must take longer to dry. He said he would see about touching it up. Jack came to my house a few evenings later and saw how bad it was. Suddenly his tune changed and he said it was all my fault - I never should have used it, I should have known the porch wasn't ready to be used, even after his assurances. (Actually, the reason I hired a professional is because I don't know anything about wooden porches.) It is now 8/21/14 and my porch still isn't dry. I have no choice but to use it and it continues to get worse. Something is very wrong and I don't believe my porch can be fixed, unless it can be completely stripped and redone correctly. I am pretty sure Jack couldn't get the good reviews I read without deserving them and none of us are above mistakes. I just want Jack to own this one and give me my money back.
