Description of Work: 8/22/15 I called for an estimate on some work I need done to install a doorframe and new doors and I got return call back within 24 hours and he showed up a day later. He gave me an excellent price was very knowledgeable, professional. We put the project on hold for personal reasons at this point.

Description of Work: Multiple attempts to schedule. Weather was prohibitive. Now, the deal has expired. I've lost $279. I am disappointed at this outcome. This is not what I expected from being an Angie's member. |

Description of Work: The job didn't work out, but they were very kind and it was and easy process to cancel.

Description of Work: Provider was unable to complete work because of 1) weather, 2) too many others wanting the same work done, 3) summer is over and it is too late to have deck cleaned and re-stained. I finally cleaned it myself and will wait until next year to contact another provider. Not completely the provider's fault; he was working against a very wet spring and early summer, but communication has been very poor.

Description of Work: Refinished floor. Replaced few defective slats. We ran into unexpected problems (old house). Very helpful. Very good experience.

Description of Work: Pressure wash and stain deck. Excellent work. Deck is 15 years old. Jack did a great job of refinishing it so it looks new again.

Description of Work: Work was not performed. The Angie's ad was considered to be misleading by JDF services. They would not perform the work as advertised. They would only give the credit for a much larger job. This was not clear in the ad. I informed Angie's List of this soon after my meeting with JDF.

Description of Work: Set up appt for size/est, discussed condition of deck and cost est. JDF pricing was for restoration, when I wanted clean & seal. We could not agree on service.

Description of Work: The person who came in seemed knowledgeable about the job, but quoted (verbally) way too high for the extra work that would need to be done (railings, steps, etc). He also made some claims about having known who had originally manufactured the deck (the deck was put into place by a previous owner). However, we found out later that those were absolutely untrue from our neighbor who does know the actual history since he actually saw it being built. On that count we may have given him the benefit of the doubt (even though he spoke with total confidence) - that he may be mistaking our property for another one. But then he was just too expensive for us anyway.

Description of Work: I contacted the provider immediately after purchasing the deal. He responded with one phone call a few days later and left a message. Each time I tried to call back, or email again, I got no response in return. After several tries over two months, I've given up. Sometimes I wonder if these service people to into a coupon offering blindly, and end up with more work than they can handle? In that case, you'd think they'd at least have the courtesy to let people know about a possible delay, especially when there's a relatively short period that the offer is valid.

Description of Work: Purchased a deal for deck pressure washing and sealing. Spoke to the owner who stated that he was busy and he would call me the following week. I waited 4 weeks called and left a message which was never returned. I called again and spoke to the owner who said he was very busy and didn't know when he would be able to get to my house. I cancelled.

Description of Work: SERVICE WAS ADVERTISED AS THE BIG DEAL FOR $270.00. I PAID FOR THIS ON PAY PAL AND WHEN CONTACTED PROVIDER (HE WAS "VERY COURTEOUS", BUT EXPLAINED THAT HE WAS VERY BUSY AND TO CONTACT HIM THE 2ND WEEK OF MAY TO SEE IF HE WAS AVAILABLE) I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS SERVICE DONE FAIRLY SOON AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW DEFINITELY THAT SOMEONE WILL COME TO PERFORM SAME!!

Description of Work: Jack was great to work with and did an outstanding job on all counts. He made a new railing for our third floor that was precisely made. He did a beautiful job of sanding and and restraining our banister and balusters. He also secured a loose railing system leading up to the second floor. Finally, he custom made a transition strip from the hardwood to the kitchen. This was difficult because a wall had previously existed in the location.
