 + -1 moreWe have used R and D for our Locksmith for 5 years, Rick and his partner Shirley are terrific. When l called they determined what we needed, gave me an appt for the next day (it was NOT an emergency call) and they called when on the way to our home, arriving about 20 minutes early. Fast and efficient work, reliable. They don't leave until the locks are working perfectly. My husband was discussing our security needs with Rick while he worked on the garage door, and Shirley was in the house with me working on the doors. She got along wonderfully with my 2 big goofy dogs, while working at the same time!
Description of Work: We needed the locks re-keyed on our home, 2 Baldwin locks keyed identically, and repair and re-key the lock on our garage.

 + -1 moreThe locksmiths showed up about when they said they would (were a little late but called ahead to inform me). They spent about 2 hours working on the lock, which had multiple problems due to previous faulty installation. They were very polite and professional throughout, answering all my questions clearly. I thought the price was reasonable considering the amount of time they spent, a replacement lock would have cost a lot more. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Repair and adjust exterior mortise lock. Clean and repair lock interior, replace spindle and doorknob, modify lock body to improve fit, re-pin lock cylinder, install and adjust lock cylinders.

 + -1 moreExcellent. I could not have asked for better workmanship and professionalism. They knew their stuff and charged a very reasonable fee for the work they had done.
Description of Work: I was planning to sell my house so I needed keys for the realtor. I had also lost the keys to the downstairs locks. I found J and D in the yellow pages and just took a chance. Good choice. They came the same day, and performed the work as needed. In fact, while they were here, I asked them to fit the same key to all the locks. No problem. Indeed, both lock assemblies did not work well so they asked if they should install new ones. I agreed. They are very amicable while at the same time remaining very professional. They were here (2 locksmiths) for well over an hour. When they left I had 4 new locks and 2 new assemblies. They cleaned up very well after themselves; there was no trace of them being here except for the work they had done.
