Dean got back to me right away and squeezed me into his schedule that day. He arrived right on time (unfortunately I was a few minutes late) and was friendly and professional. He determined that the likely cause was just water backing up from the iced over gutters and cleared out some ice and snow for us. So it turned out to be simple and Dean only charged a nominal fee for his trouble. We'll definitely call them again for our roofing needs!

It went great; they showed up on time, removed the old roof, put down an underlayment (not 15lb felt but rather a GAF synthetic that allows the shingles to "breath"), a solar roof vent for main house, ridge vent for garage, replaced all drip edges, installed a 30-year Timberline roof, all in one day plus clean up. It is a 1232 SF one-story home with a non-plywood foundation i.e., harder to remove old roof. I got another estimate from a well-known company and they use Tamko shingles with 15lb felt underlayment, and the estimate was a thousand dollars more and they contract out the work. From what I read online, Tamko is a poorer quality shingle than Timberline. This company gives you the estimate and the sales guy is one of the workmen.

Dean Shirk is amazing! He came out sooner than promised, looked at the roof, found the problem, and fixed it right then and there. He made a few other minor repairs to ensure the roof was its best possible condition. I will definitely hire him when my roof actually needs to be replaced.

I could not be more pleased with Shirk Brothers. From the first call to Dean to setup an appointment through completion of the project, it was a pleasure working with them. I had first called to inquire about some extensive roof repair. At the estimate, Dean took the time to explain the problems and what could be done. He also gave me a fair and honest assessment of the rest of my roof. At no time did I feel any pressure to have extra work performed. An estimate for both repair or total replacement were delivered as promised and at a very fair price. We decided to replace the entire house roof and both storage sheds. When it came to scheduling the work, they could not have been more accommodating to our schedule. On the first day of the project, they were on time and got to work within moments of arrival. I could not have been more impressed with how quickly and industriously every person in their crew worked. It is obvious that everyone there takes pride in their work and that I had no need to worry about anyone taking shortcuts in what they were doing. Not only were they hard working, they were friendly and pleasant to have at our home. They put in well over an 11 hour day to get the roof on the house completed in one day, plus yard cleanup. Day two went just as well as day one. They were on time and working hard. They completed all of the work in the second day and when they left, there was barely a trace of evidence that so much work had taken place in the past two day. Cleanup was done extremely well, which is a concern of mine as there are both small kids and dogs that run around the yard. There was one issue after they left. When a vent pipe collar was installed on the vent stack pipe, it disconnected inside the attic (not so much their fault as it appears to have only been dry-fitted together before.) I only noticed this a few days later and reached out to Dean via email that Saturday morning. He was back onsite and took care of it within about 3 hours. I was beyond impressed that he would be so willing and able to make a follow up repair so quickly. I feel this really speaks to the integrity of this company. The house looks great and everything roof related is now working as it should. I highly recommend Shirk Brothers and look forward to hiring them in the future for new siding and windows.

My neighbor had his roof replaced along with some new siding and he contracted with Shirk Brothers so I got to see their operation and was impressed. After talking with my neighbor, he was very happy and had nothing but good things to say and since I respect his opinion, I gave them a call. I set an appointment with Dean to come out and look at my roof and he showed up when he said he would. It was raining on this day but he still got up on the roof as well as the attic where he explained things to me. When I decided to go with Shirk Brothers we set the date and Dean said they would arrive at 7:00 a.m. and they were right on time. This was January so it was still a bit dark but within 15 or 20 minutes they had all their equipment set-up and were on the roof working. The time between when I set the appointment and the actual start date I had some questions and every email I sent Dean was answered the same day. His communication was excellent. Dean and his crew were all very polite, courteous and professional. The job went off without a hitch and my roof and chimney look great. I’d not hesitate to recommend Shirk Brothers, nor would I hesitate to use them again. Hiring contractors is not one of my favorite things to do in life but the Shirks made it as pleasant an experience as it can be. Oh, one more thing, they did a very thorough job in cleaning up when they were done. I don’t think I’ve seen one roofing nail on the ground.

Shirk Brothers was our choice out of 3 contractors who quoted our roofing project. I have nothing but GOOD to say about this operation. Dean's professionalism, and the quality of equipment and service was superior to any other contractor that quoted our project. He followed up on all questions and concerns promptly throughout the quoting process with knowledgeable and professional responses. The project was started slightly ahead of schedule, and was completed earlier than expected. The crew was also very professional and courteous. They do NOT subcontract roofing projects, Dean was on site, and working right along side the rest of the crew. I would 100% recommend Shirk Brothers.

Randy Shirk called me back same day and set up appointment promptly. Although not a "big" job, he said he would work it into their schedule and was eager to help us. Unfortunately, snow came, so we had to put appointment on hold. Randy followed up with me as soon as the weather lifted and he could personally come over. A refreshing change from our having to track people down! Randy spent a good amount of time in our attic before moving to the roof to determine exact cause of our leak. He then took care of that leak, reinforced rubber around vent and also inspected and reinforced our other vents without additional charges. Randy was extremely knowledgeable, professional, personable, and the bill for his visit was much less than we had anticipated! We would highly recommend!!

All good, very good. Let's start with Dean, the brother who did the initial contact/estimate. Very informative, punctual, was not pushy, not in a hurry, did not press for a replacement of full roof (we were considering a rather extensive repair). Explained extended manufacturer warranty, but did not push for it (an extra cost, which I'm sure is a profit source for roofers). Quickly gave a full estimate breaking out all the work they would do, I think he emailed to me the next day. He returned several weeks later at my request to go over some of the items (again!). Took time to show me on the roof what kinds of things had caused the problems I was having (a 22 year old roof, would not have had problems yet if the roof was done right to begin with). His estimated start date was exactly right, he reviewed with me to be sure it would be okay. Was always very quickly responsive to any inquiries I made. THE JOB: They said they'd arrive at 7 AM on start date, and arrived at 6:55,. This is, I believe, all family that works together and it shows. They are efficient! In less than two days (with some rain issues) they were able to do my complete (large) roof. I don't believe I've seen another crew of construction type people work as well or as efficiently together. They were friendly, and responsive to any questions/concerns I had. There was an extra that I had not specified I wanted done that they went ahead and did without charging extra. Took pictures of all the areas that needed sheathing replaced (not that I needed it, I believe these guys are very trustworthy). All the flashing replaced with new, and done very nicely/precisely (some of the flashing was a bit complicated --at least to me!) Roof looks great! GIVE THESE GUYS A CHANCE TO DO A GREAT JOB ON YOUR HOUSE!

I called Shirk Brothers' on 9/28, as I noticed the prior weekend water spots on the floor of my attic underneath one of the vent pipes. I saw from the outside that the rubber collar on the pipe was split, and my roof was too steep for me to climb on to do the repair. I called and left a detailed voicemail, and Dean returned my call a few hours later. He said he could come to the house to do the repair the next afternoon, which was great news considering the forecast later in the week called for a lot of the rain. He called me the next afternoon to tell me he repaired the areas around both vent pipes on my roof, as well as re-set some shingles where the nails were backing out, and also repaired the end of the ridge vent that was beginning to pop up. I also asked him to give me his assessment of the roof quality, as when I bought the house over two years ago I did not know the age of the roof. He explained that the roof is getting toward the end of its useful life, and that I should think about replacing it in the next few years. He also told me that the lifted shingles were likely a result of poor ventilation in the attic and the lack of soffit vents.. Dean went above and beyond with his service, and I will not hesitate to consider Shirk Brothers for future work and also when it comes time to replace the roof.

He is very pleasant and it worked out fine. He called to let me know that he was on his way. He still answered all of my questions. He made me feel very comfortable.

They did an excellent job. They came out and inspected the roof about a week ago and that was good and they did some minor patching today. I'm very happy with it. It was very good. I'm very pleased. He's very professional. He showed up on time just as he promised and did exactly what they promised to do. They took photos and showed us what's happening on our roof. They're very responsive. He responded right away. He called after I first set up for the inspection. We set it up for March and he called me at the day that we set. He said that they'd come out. It's A's all the way.

Shirk Brothers fit me in their schedule sooner than I expected. The scope of work that they did was done with excellent quality. From set up, repair, to clean up they were efficient and professional. I found that their pricing is more reasonable than many other roofers that I've worked with in the past. I highly recommend them and look forward to referring them to network.

Randy was very prompt in responding to my phone call. He came to my home at the time agreed upon, assessed the problem and set a time to deliver the service. I asked him about gutter guards and he immediately prepared for their installation, cleaning my downspouts and getting me ready for all the whirligigs that fly from my maple trees. I would definitely use Shirk Brothers again and would recommend them to anyone who appreciates prompt and reliable service.
