Description of Work: We spoke with a representative on phone and explained what we needed. We were expecting the work to be complete that day. However, when the electrician showed up in a plumber's shirt (I asked and he said the owner owns both companies.) and was prepared only to give us an estimate we were disappointed. However, the estimate was far higher than we had anticipated so glad work was not done! We also felt sales pitch for a service agreement was a bit strong.

Description of Work: The technician was professional , but added extra service in the estimate called a preferred service contract. The estimate was five times as high as the Big Deal coupon (installation of a ceiling fan was listed as one of the options for the coupon.) I feel the Big Deal was really no deal at all. I appreciate Angie's list providing a refund. I will hesitate to ever buy a big deal again but I will definitely continue to use Angie's List,

Description of Work: I used my Angies List Coupon to have Ron Merker, with the Electric Man to replace a lamp post that is out front (the whole neighborhood has these lamp Post). I still had everything in the boxes from the retailer we bought it from, and he took the light out of the package, very carefully due to styrofoam. I replaced the light and installed a light sensor. Ron is so nice, and he explained everything. When I told him I would be putting the house on the market soon, he went thru the house to test the outlets, as an inspector will sure to be doing when the house sells. He told me the code had changed a bit, and 2 or 3 of my basement outlets were not GFI protected. He explained to me why they did not meet code and gave me a few options. He explained everything so thoroughly. He went to work, while I dealt with a handy man. Ron finished up and patiently waited while I showed the handyman what to do. I then asked if Ron had a moment to look at my daughters bathroom because she said anytime she changed the bulb it blew out in a short time. Even though he was about ready to go, he went upstairs and looked at the light fixture. Unbeknowst to me, the light bulbs were not the proper ones to be used for the fixture. He told me which ones to get. I ended up writing it down, and he explained about the different kinds light, like the CFL and the wattage or equivalent I needed to use. Ron was the best! I thanked him for using the slip covers on his shoues because I had just had my carpets cleaned in anticipation of putting the house on the market. I highly recommend this company. Ron was so polite and professional, and he took the time to give me an education!

Description of Work: We called the company to request how much they could accomplish with the coupon. We only needed receptacles switched out. They refused to cgive us an answer over the phone, so a meeting was set up. The technician came out and opened a book to get pricing (which could have been done over the phone) and gave us a price of $1500. Extremely expensive compared to other companies.

Description of Work: They did a check of the electrical system of my house and pointed out areas of improvement. I hired them to re-wire my basement after getting it waterproofed and needing an upgrade for my new sump pump. They found unsafe outlets and replaced them as well as put in new outdoor outlets. Description of Work: The electrician arrived early to replace a bathroom fan. He was courteous and explained everything in advance. He was able to obtain the replacement fan within an hour or so and was back to install it on the same day. The price seemed a bit high, but he did a wonderful job of replacing the old unit. The new fan is so much quieter than the old one ever was.

Description of Work: I was very surprised when a lovely woman named Ruth showed up as "The Electric Man." But she is a very experienced electrician, tremendously competent and efficient. I wanted to install lighting in an built-in cabinet, and it required some thought and a careful explanation of the options. She even through in cutting down the shelves with a table saw to accommodate the strip lighting! Overall very nice job.

Description of Work: They got a LOT done for a very reasonable price. We had many odd electrical jobs and it's so nice to have them done. The electrician was very professional and personable.

Description of Work: No services rendered because the cost was prohibitive. Jed is a great person and would recommend him for anyone. He does not set the prices, however he is an asset to the company.

Description of Work: Wanted to put in a whole house fan. Arrived on time and were pleasent. Electric Man spent a lot of time checking everything out, but came back with quotes that ranged from $1,800 to $2,500, so I never went beyond that. Eventually, put in a whole house fan for $650. Because of the time they spent, I didn't ask for the $99.00 back.
