Bruce performed outstanding customized work to install a new back door and storm door for our home. He only asked for $50 more above our estimate to cover the extra work done on the floor. When we commented it was good luck that everything went well with the installation, Bruce replied humorously, "It's not luck, it's skill". We couldn't agree more!
Description of Work: Bruce was outstanding. From our first meeting he seemed quite knowledgeable and with great ease envisioned all he would need to do for our door replacement and new storm door installation. His estimate was even faxed with a drawing of what he was going to do and where! He even agreed to pick up the new door and storm door at the hardware store to save us the cost of delivery. He didn't ask for any money up front and said, "you can pay me when the work is done". On the day of installation he began work in earnest and when he found some hidden damage he was quick to say "not a problem". He went to the store and picked up some more supplies to custom repair the floor through our basement ceiling in order to reinforce the ceramic tile floor near the door threshhold. Due to the weather and the repair taking a bit longer then anticipated, due to the hidden damage, he had to return the next day for the storm door installation. This took a bit longer then he expected as we had an electronic lock on the new storm door. As it was getting late in the afternoon and he couldn't get the door latch and strike plate to work "just right" he decided to return the next day (day #3) to finish the job! Everything worked great and in our opinion he went above and beyond when he saved our inside trim, transferred the satellite cable behind the siding when he reinstalled the siding around the door, and even used near perfectly matching metal covering around the door frame so we wouldn't have to paint it! His clean-up was great and he disposed of the old door. The only negatives we would have would be it took a little longer then expected for installation, mostly due to circumstances beyond anyone's control and on the second day he didn't call us in the morning to let us know he was delayed on another job site and wouldn't be coming until the afternoon. Nevertheless, we would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for work to be done on their home. We researched and obtained estimates from several other carpenters with comparative pricing but we didn't get the same "gut feeling" about their skill and plan for the work as we did with Bruce. We plan to have him back in the future to finish our basement!
