Description of Work: It was an awful experience! The job was done, barely within the 30 day contract. Was told by Mr Ferguson that his son and son-in-law would be doing the painting. The men who did the painting told me they were no realation (a lie by Mr Ferguson) They showed up late if at all. Was told they would start at the top of the house and work down...they started at the bottom and worked up, because the main 2 painters were afraid of heights (over heard them talking about getting others in to do the high areas)(another lid by Mr. Ferguson)I over heard most of the conversations between the workers because the windows upstairs were open and voices carry. Indicated in the contract that Valspar house paint would be used...most of the gallon cans had the labels torn off...so I have NO IDEA if Valspar was used or not. The porches, going by the literature provided in the contract, were to be resurfaced with a grout-like substance to fill in the cracks on the old wooden porches...they were just painted over the bare wood. And, this process was explained to me in detail by Mr. Ferguson, and I checked with our local Lowe's store, they indicated with the shape the porches were in, the porches needed that process done...I showed them pictures and the contract, they agreed with what Mr Ferguson had told me, but didn't do...and if he wasn't planning to do the process, it should have been crossed off the contract. Also, they showed up 2 days late to power wash the house in the beginning...seems Mr Ferguson did not know the workers (who were supposed to be relatives) did not work weekends. No phone call to notify us either. They they did not show up for 8 working days after to begin painting...even though weather permitted. Also, near the end, they painted in the rain...I mean...still painted while it was raining!! To add insult to injury, LOL, they are now storing stuff on our property because they got other jobs in the area. And, we've had several phone calls calling for references. My husband and I have different opinions...he was at work while the work was being done....I was home most of the time. Also, I was called names by the workers, because I wouldn't allow they to use my bathroom. First I was never asked and I didn't know the workers and I was home by myself or had my small grandchildren at the house. When the second crew members showed up the last week to do the high parts....I overheard one of them say he had just been released from a facility in the penal system. Which justifies me in NOT allowing them to use my bathroom. Another note, a gentleman who called for a referral last evening, asked for my husband, I wouldn't let him talk to him until he told me who he was and what it was about (my husband does not like to be bothered by sales calls, so I field them) he told me Mr Ferguson told him to call after 4 PM and ask for my husband. After grilling the poor man, he confirmed that he was told to talk to my husband and not me. My husband said he was not saying anything good or bad about the job or the service....just that we got what we paid for....our house painted for a cheap price! And, because the workers didn't show up for the first few days, they were pushed for time at the end when they painted the porches. LOL and they painted all 3 porch floors on the same day and at the same time! Mr. Ferguson represented the workers, one of them admitted he was sub-contracted by Mr. Ferguson and ran his own business, when Mr Ferguson told me it would be his own son and son-in-law that would be doing the work...any changes should have been explained to us. Also, we have a 3 story home, and I just wonder how he made any money? The cost of Valspar Exterior paint runs between $67 to $137 per 694 fl oz...so only charging us $1,500...how did he make a profit with buying the paint AND paying the workers? I give Mr. Ferguson and his crew...a "D" overall...the only good thing was his price!
