I had my service done through AHS. From the beginning it was a problem. After the service was done and they received my 1 star review I received an email that told me C&C were within contract specs and they put me on the will not service again list. I found this to be humorous not only because I had I left them a 1 star rating I already contacted AHS and told them to never send Cool and Cozy to my home again. Cool and Cozy is not the right company to deal with for your HVAC needs.

If I would be reviewing AHS I would give a terrible review but reviewing Cool and Cozy I would say they did a really good job. They first came out and checked our unit as soon as they got the call from AHS. They remained patient with us as we kept calling to find out the status of getting our unit replaced. AHS took forever to get the whole unit replaced but as soon as Cool and Cozy recieved the unit they called us and had it to our house. They were extremely busy as they could only send one guy but he did a great job and was very very courteous. Our house is nice and cool and cozy!
Description of Work: Like others, we used AHS and recieved service from Cool & Cozy. They replace our old ac unit with a new one.

Our HVAC stopped working around May 8th, so we called our home warranty company, AHS, that day to start a claim. Cool & Cozy did not call us about coming out until Monday, May 11th. We later learned that the provider (Cool & Cozy in this instance) has 48 hours to respond, or AHS will assign someone else to handle the call. When they called on that Monday, they advised that they wouldn't come out until Thursday. Now we're at almost a week before someone would even come out to diagnose the issue. Annoying, but I'll live. When my wife was advised of the appointment date, she was given the old 4 hour window. I can live with this as well. However, when she asked if someone could give her a courtesy call when they were actually on their way over, she was told no. Apparently, it's not "in their contract" with AHS to provide common decency (or customer service) such as calling someone, so they outright refused. The idiot at C & C went so far as to rudely explain that you're either there when the technician arrives, or you're not. My wife was flabbergasted with how unprofessional and rude she was treated by this company. She even called back a day or two later in case she had reached someone on a bad day, and was treated the same way. I had her cancel the appointment and scheduled someone else to come out. I'd rather pay double or triple my deductible to another company before I'd do business with an operation as disgraceful as this sham. No wonder they asked to be removed from Angie's List. I'd like to point out that I have never written a negative comment about any company on this site. Hopefully this will be the last time. Anyone choosing to do business with Cool & Cozy beware; you have been warned. As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for." I'd like to further add... and you deserve what you get.
Description of Work: They were supposed to diagnose a problem with our HVAC that had stopped working. As a result of how rude and unprofessional they were, I used someone else.

Unfortunately, Ahs customers fail to understand that contractors, such as Cool & Cozy, do have guidelines that are followed per our contract. When a dispatch is received after our business hours (in your case, your dispatch was received at our end after 4:30pm) then the call will been made the next business day, which was Monday. A call was made on Monday 5/11 and we were unable to contact you, so a voice message was left. The calls are made in the order they are received and to be fair to customers, if we are unable to contact a customer - we continue calling the other dispatches and the appointments are scheduled as such. If s customer fails to return our call, then their appointment is scheduled the next available day after the call is returned. Unfortunately, when we are not able to contact a homeowner, the 48 hour window is not guaranteed because we have scheduled the customers whom did answer our call . We do use a dispatch board through Ahs, so they are aware when we are not able to contact a home owner and it is date and time stamped. Therefore, Ahs was aware that s called was placed within guidelines and we were unable to contact homeowner. Cool & Cozy does not make any calls prior to a scheduled appointment - the calls are scheduled in a block of time and per the Ahs contract- it states that homeowners must make the home available during contractors hours. Contract for not state contractor will call ahead and if homeowner is not home at the time of the scheduled appointment, a call is made to Ahs informing them of the missed appointment and there is a note left to call to reschedule the appointment. There is a fee for missing a scheduled appointment - per the contract. This is explained to customers when scheduling an appointment. Yes, there was a request on Angie's list to remove Cool & Cozy's listing simply because they listed inaccurate information, such as address, hours, discounts, etc., This inaccurate information was not given to Angie's by Cool & Cozy, Angie's list just posted it without verifying the actual company information. When Angie's list was contacted about this, they of course wanted Cool & Cozy to pay to join their website. After declining this offer - they noted that the company wanted to be removed from their listing, but failed to state it was due to them listing inaccurate information. Lastly, as a long time Ahs contractor, Cool and Cozy does make the calls -per the guidelines. When a customer is unable to be contacted, the appointments are offered to the next customers to whom we were able to contact. Our apologies for any inconvience. Thank you.

They tried to patch it with some putty and now we are without ac. We are ending up having to get a whole new system because it cannot be fixed due to its age.
Description of Work: We told them about the problem with with heat/ac system. They could not diagnose the problem and then tried to patch it.

According to our records, we were dispatched to this residence for an oil furnace not heating. Upon arrival the technician found that the oil furnace wasn't working due to being out of oil. Customer was informed that they needed to have fuel delivered in order for the furnace to run. This was reported to AHS and the claim was denied due to being out of fuel. Four days later, another call was dispatched to the same residence for oil furnace not heating. Cool and cozy returned to residence and found that there had been oil delivered and found the unit had a fouled nozzle - this happens when the fuel level gets too low or runs out of fuel. The nozzle was replaced and the furnace was operating properly at that time. Putty wasn't used as a repair, as this makes no sense. According to your home warranty company, there was another contractor dispatched to your residence in May for the air conditioning unit not working and it was reported that the part needed to repair the air conditioning was no longer available due to the age of the a/c unit. Cool & Cozy is a nationally ranked award winning contractor with AHS Home Warranty Company and would appreciate that any reviews posted on this site be posted with accurate information. Unfortunately, Anglie's list allows reviews to be posted to their site without verifying first that the information posted is valid and accurate.

Our gas furnace stopped maintaining temperature in February. It would not stay on for more than a few seconds. Called AHS our home warranty company and they scheduled Cool & Cozy to come out the next day. We had a window of time and the gentleman showed up just before the time he is due to arrive. He found the problem, located a part nearby and replaced it all in less than 2 hours! Unfortunately we also had the igniter go bad a month later on March 4th though no fault of Cool & Cozy. Again we called AHS and they dispatched Cool & Cozy. I was so relieved it was them again! They came the very next day at the beginning of the service window. This time there were 2 gentleman, 1 being the owner. They identified the problem, replaced the part, and we were back up and running! Very satisfied with the service! Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous team.
Description of Work: Replaced a fan and an igniter on my gas furnace.

It was good. They were very knowledgeable and careful. They just did a good job. They knew what they're doing. They're fast and they didn't took long to do the job. I had a question so I called them and one of the gentlemen said that he'd be right out and he was. He checked everything to make sure everything was okay. They came when they said they would be. They were very professional.

1. We didn't always use Cool and Cozy. We met them through home warranty company American Home Shield (AHS) after another AHS provider seriously butchered installing our new heat pump. 2. Cool and Cozy was hired by AHS to do an independent evaluation. After everything was finally evaluated and determined, Cool and Cozy fixed the botched job and has been doing our HVAC work ever since. 3. Part of that work has been the fall and spring services. Regardless who shows up to do the service (father or son), the work is done professionally and neither one of them gets tired of answering my questions and letting me watch and poke around a bit with them. 4. When we made a very bad decision and let our electric provider put a governor on our heat pump, I made a very frantic call to get the temperature down not understanding how the increase in heat would affect my asthma. Cool and Cozy very calmly explained to a very panicky me how to override the governor to turn on the air and give myself cool relief. 5. Anyone who has worked with a home warranty company knows that the rules and regulations are incredibly bureaucratic. I don't mind dealing with them to get rid of a bad provider, but Cool and Cozy is NOT a bad provider. A little patience is sometimes necessary when the weather is really cold or really hot, but that applies to every HVAC company. The professionalism and care with which Cool and Cozy deals with its customers will keep us as one of its customers. 6. I highly recommend the spring and fallservices. They are well worth the pittance they cost in catching issues compared to emergency calls later.

American Home Shield (home warranty company) sent out Cool and Cozy to perform a second opinion regarding repair or replacement of our boiler system, our only backup heat source. The service technician was prompt and courteous for his early AM appointment, and explained his findings. However, in the afternoon, I called American Home Shield to see if Cool and Cozy had reported back to them yet with their findings. AHS said no. So, I called Cool and Cozy, spoke with their receptionist. She said they had not called AHS yet, and would not do so until the next morning, citing this was their procedure. I reminded her that the temperature in our area was to be in the mid to low teen's, and that we currently have only our electric heatpump, which is not able to maintain heat during very low temperature, and no backup heat system. She didn't seem at all concerned or willing to expedite any request, even if this were an emergency. She again cited that the contractor had the paperwork, and he wouldn't be back at their headquarters until the close of business this day, and that the findings would be reported to AHS tomorrow. I was very surprised at her lack of concern for our situation, or apparent inability to expedite our obvious need for a backup heat source, when the temperature was going be so low the following few days. I normally do not like to post negative comments, but I thought in this case I was compelled to do so. I am very dissatisfied with Cool and Cozy's lack of concern for our situation. I would never call this company directly for any heating-related concerns.
Description of Work: Cool & Cozy performed a second opinion to determine whether our boiler (our only backup heat source) was able to be repaired in any way or whether it would need to be totally replaced.

American Homeshield (home warranty company) sent out Cool and Cozy to repaired my AC unit. Unfortunately they had to come out twice to resolve the problem. There hasn't been any issue ever since...Father and Son are extremely professional. In term of scheduling for service, that process needs some improvement. I had to wait 2 days during extreme heat before anyone can come out. I wish they take emergency calls during the summer.

Called American Home Shield, the company providing homeowner appliance insurance, to report that the air conditioning was not working. They sent the father-son team of George and Nick who promptly, professionally and very quickly detected the source of the problem and restored the air conditioning function by replacing the damaged part in the compressor. I paid the deductible of $60 for the visit. During their visit, George was extremely instructive, open to questions about the system. I learned a lot from him.
Description of Work: Replaced malfunctioning part in air conditioning compressor, restoring the house cooling function.
