When JR came to review the job for a bid, I originally was going to only over lay the existing driveway. But the next day I changed my mind and decided to replace the entire driveway. JR adapted to this change with no problems. It did add to the cost due to a larger job. There was a slight delay in time because of the weather. He and his crew show up when the weather broke with all the machines necessary to complete the job. I was stunned to see how fast my old driveway was removed and my new driveway was installed. It was a one day job. He answered any and all questions I had about the process of removing and installing a new driveway. I was very pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail that they gave to this job. I would hire JR's Driveway Service INC again and highly recommend them. If you want a new driveway and want the job done to the highest standards, then hire JR's Driveway Service INC.

Excellent!! They were punctual and went right to work, all business. Joe, John and Josh were very personable. They reviewed the details of the work to be performed. If I had questions they took the time to answer them. All of the workers were professional, I had a concern regarding the flow of water and they reworked the area to my satisfaction. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them. My wife also said that Heather (office manager) was very helpful and a delightful person. She helped make everything go smoothly.

We were extremely impressed and pleased with J.R.'s Driveway Services and highly recommend them. We had gotten 3 quotes from Angie's List contractors and went with J.R. His quote was fair and thorough and his personality is a huge plus. Moreover, he works onsite with and supervises his crew, who have been with his firm for a long time. They arrived on site promptly at 8:30 a.m., having scheduled a month ahead and confirmed by telephone the day before. J.R. greeted us with a big smile and handshake, and his crew members were very pleasant and polite. In fact, we found the crew to be the most conscientious and well-mannered that we have EVER had working at our home. The job was finished in one day, better then expected. Sod was replaced along the driveway, and showing great initiative, one worker found grass seed in our garage and proceeded to seed several areas which he observed to be a bit bare. The driveway looks wonderful. Most of all, the whole experience was positive. We would give them an A+ rating if it were a choice. We highly recommend J.R.'s!

They did a fantastic job. Everything from the scheduling to handling payment, everything was first class. They came at exactly the time they said they would and completed the job when they said they would. I would strongly recommend them to anyone in the Harrisburg/Carlisle area in need of this type of service.

I would've been very comfortable choosing JR's, but another Angie's List contractor won out mainly due to location.

J.R. and his crew did a FANTASTIC job!!! They arrived on time and ready to work. They were professional and did not stop working until the job was done. The driveway was completed exactly as I had asked. I could not be happier with their work and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for courteous and professional paving work.

Excellent company. Very impressed starting with my initial contact to completion of the work. Crew was on-site when promised. Work was done quickly by a group of very skilled men. A few questions involving the needed permit were answered in a very timely manner. We could not be more pleased with the work.

The new driveway has held up well and still looks great in mid-Feb. JR's was able to work with me over a couple month period, never raising the initial estimate as I navigated the local permit process. I recommend JR's Driveway Service to anyone in need of a new asphalt.

It was completed in a professional and timely manner. The employees answered all my questions and we worked out a little different layout from the estimate but for the same price. My wife said she'll always remember this day because of course 9/11/2001 and the day we got our driveway finally replaced. We feel like we are driving on air when we drive into our garage. Excellent, excellent work. I would not have anyone but J.R.'s do any asphalt work for me again.

Contacted the company for an estimate and the owner came out, gave me an immediate verbal estimate followed by an emailed and hard copy. The written estimate itself provided detail about what they would do including some problems my wife and I needed to have done. The job was scheduled but it rained heavily that day and they couldn't do it. A new appointment was scheduled for 2 work days later and they were here right on time at 9AM. There was a 6 man team who started immediately tearing up the old driveway and then tamping the stone down. One of the guys showed me a sample of what was torn out and it seemed like there was only an inch of asphalt. They then laid several inches of base asphalt and the boss showed up to see what was being done and talk to me about the process. The second layer of asphalt was put down, tamped and rolled along with finishing the edges to shape and smooth the lines. By noon the job was done and they swept up the street and left. This is a family operation and those who aren't related to the owner have worked for him for at least 10 years. They worked well together, answered all my questions and even moved my garbage cans so that they would be picked up today. Good job, good workers and it appears to be a good price.

Everything about them was A+. Everything was top class. The crew/staff was very professional and the work was clean. They also re seeded my grass.

I needed my driveway widened because the entry was so narrow that we were scraping the cars going in and out, and when another vehicle was parked in the driveway it blocked any entry/exit from the garage. I hired JRS to extend my driveway to provide parking for additional vehicles while allowing the room needed to enter/exit both garage bays. I also had to have a large stump ground out prior to JRS paving the driveway and they scheduled the work with the tree contractor to ensure the appropriate timing. JRS crew showed up when they said they would, and within three hours the driveway was finished and the yard was cleaned up and ready for replanting grass. I couldn't believe how fast and efficient they got the work done. They were professional and polite and I would recommend them to everyone because of their excellent service and very fair pricing.

I have been in construction for many years and have dealt with a lot of contractors both good and bad. Joe and his team are one of the good guys. Every aspect, from working with his office to the completion of the job were very professional. Joe has a great team and I would recommend them highly.

Over the course of several weeks, I left multiple messages for this company to try to set up an appointment for a price quote. They kept coming up as a top choice when I put in my address on Angie's List for this service category. I provided complete information with my contact information and location in all my messages. Their listing says "We Are Willing To Travel Approx. 45 To 50 Miles Roundtrip To Provide A Paving Estimate. Please Call To Check If You Are Within Our Service Area." That's what I was doing, but I guess I'm supposed to assume that I wasn't in the area if they didn't call me back? Since I was doing as asked - calling to find out - I think that a courtesy response to my multiple calls would have been appropriate.

The job went very well. The crew was on time. The boss was there for most of the day. The whole thing got done in one day. Only one thing remains to be seen, i.e. how well will it hold up in the years to come. We expect that this too will prove quite satisfactory. Lastly, we even got a senior citizen discount!

My phone call to request the service was answered in an appropriate amount of time. The company took the time to clean the driveway, edge it and then seal the blacktop. They were punctual on the job, provided the requested services and the final result was more than expected. They also billed the amont of the original quote. My wife and I spent considerable time and energy calling and scheduling several contractors to come and give us estimates for paving our residential driveway. J.R.'s was not the lowest nor the highest estimate, but they were the friendliest and most professional. Their ratings on Angie's List sealed the deal. We decided to have them pave our driveway, but we needed it done within a week's time. They were very accommodating and scheduled us within this time frame. (As it turned out, they were actually able to perform the job ahead of the scheduled appointment.) My young kids loved sitting and watching the paving process through our kitchen windows that look out upon the driveway. The owner of the company even gave one of my children a ride on the roller! It was a very positive experience. If there was a downside, it was the fact that neither I nor J.R.'s had a plan for pavement extending to our mailbox. There was no mention of it on the written estimate and I didn't even think of it until they were here to pave the driveway. In the end, we did have them pave up to the mailbox, but it cost us a little bit more. This was a minor inconvenience as the interaction I had with Heather (on the phone scheduling the job and following up repeatedly about details related to the job) and Joe and John (performing the actual paving) was entirely positive.

JR's Driveway Service was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. I can't say enough about this company. Everything about this company displayed excellence and professionalism. Everyone from the receptionist to the owner Joe and his crew were very courteous, friendly and professional. Joe was on time to look at the job and was very informative, answered all my questions and made recommendations to achieve a job that would make my wife and I very pleased with the final results. I was so impressed with Joe that I had pretty much made up my mind before I received the estimate that they were going to do the job for me. The estimate came in a very timely manner and the price was very competitive. The job was scheduled to start within 2 weeks. Joe and his crew were on time the day of the job. Each crew member knew what to do with occasional directions from Joe who works beside his crew. The job was completed in a day and a half including landscaping around the driveway edges. It was a great experience from start to finish and my wife and I highly recommend JR's Driveway Service for any of your driveway needs.

From the time I called for an estimate and talked to Heather, to when the estimator arrived (on time) to when the finished product was complete, everything was prompt and professional.

Started with a concrete cut to the widened site measurements. Excavated new driveway addition area, stoned and rolled new limestone base. Removed old driveway surface and correct established base. Applied new hot macadam to entire area and rolled surface until compacted to industry standards. Additionally provided free excavation in backyard for a subsurface container.
