 + -1 moreThe cost was very reasonable. I had three companies out. Window wizards made it work. I went with them be of that. The installer was a subcontractor, when I was told by company they use there own people. They cleaned up well. They damaged paint on a wall and left it. On one of the windows that they installed they have been out 3 times to fix a leak. They are going to have to come out for a fourth visit because it is still leaking. They make no accommodation, considering I have to take time off of work for them to come in.

 + -1 moreThe workmanship is shoddy and the patio door is out of square. They did a terrible job on capping the windows, used excessive caulk and there are still gaps. They used raw wood for replacement even though they were instructed to use primed and painted wood. The patio door was to be custom sized but they installed a standard size door and dropped the doorway header by 6 inches. They damaged the stucco around the windows and the patio door and the stucco is continuing to deteriorate and will need to be re-stuccod and painted. The estimate for another company to correct is over $8000.00. I have been in contact with the corporate office to correct these and several other problems, however, the corporate offices have not been responsive. They did send out a technician to look at the problem, but he has disappeared from the radar and when I complained again for their lack of responsiveness, then Windowizards sent the original installer who, of course, thought that he had done a wonderful job. I hired an attorney to deal with Windowizards. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
Description of Work: Windowizards installed one patio door and 3 windows. They were to install a new front door, but they did not send the installers the correct door. I have stopped them from installing the new front door.

 + -1 moreOverall it was one of the worst experiences I have had with a company in my entire life. I would never use WindowWizards again and would never recommend them to anyone else. The VP for Customer Service, Rich Friedenberg, was not service-oriented and was an obstructionist for one year.
Description of Work: The salesman came to our house in July 2005, the contractor came in August 2005 to measure the windows, and the work began in September 2005. We had 28 windows replaced in total. The first problem was that the contractor knocked over our two-day old lamp post with his truck and it needed to be replaced. The contractors from North Carolina took all of the old windows out and put in all the new windows in five hours. Needless to say this was a completely sloppy job with several problems. One of the biggest problems is that when they pushed in the new windows from outside they pushed in some of the frames. There were several others (including ill-fitting windows, ripped screens, cracked windows & missing pieces) and an estimator came from WindowWizards in September 2005 and said that someone would be out in a couple of weeks to fix everything. I had to call in two months and all they did was to send out another estimator. This happened three times more and the last estimator who came in April 2006 said it would all be taken care of by May 2006. Nothing happened and I was forced to file a complaint with the BBB seeking money to have the repairs done by another window company. Finally WindowWizards came to fix everything in September 2006 and despite the fact that they forgot to bring a screen with them (went back and got it), everything was fixed. Unfortunately it took one year (during which they had my $13,000) and a complaint to the BBB to get the windows completed.

 + -1 moreSalesman called to change the glass in the doors. He wanted to make sure I was ok with it, And I was. He said the doors were already measured. Supervisor called me back and told me that it was normal for them to measure doors without the person being there and knowing. In December I called them because I wanted to know what was going on with my doors. Rescheduled appt, about the 22nd of December for them to install the doors. I got a call telling me no one was home, he was actually next door. They measured the wrong house's doors. Installer said he would let office know, and they would call. No one called the week of Christmas. I spoke to a salesman that new nothing about my situation. He told me to call the owner. Left message. He called back, apologized, but he was not willing to make any adjustments. I insisted something needed to happen, he told me he could send me a gift card for dinner on them. He sent $50 in red lobster gift cards. Haven't heard back from them.
Description of Work: They came out in the end of August to measure doors. I ordered the doors in August. We didn't know they had measured the doors.

 + -1 moreCalled Window Wizards for an estimate. It took about 3 weeks for them to come out & then 4 to 6 more weeks before they came to install the windows. Once they came in they did an excellent job. They pricing was good.
Description of Work: Replaced 4 very old basement metal framed windows. Removed windows which were metal framed incased in cement. Not an easy job. Replaced 3 windows with sliders & one with glass block & dryer vent.

 + -1 moreIt took two days to complete the installation. The men took out the old windows and put the new ones in and came back the second day to finish installation and caulked and capped where necessary. They cleaned up all the debris and show us how to use the windows.
Description of Work: Replaced all the windows in the house (17)and took away all the old storms and windows, replaced two window sills and caulked all the windows.

 + -1 moreThey had the lowest price, thats the only positive. But when they cant answer questions about their product and claims, and when they completely ignore customer concerns. I dont feel comfortable sending them over $5,000.00.
Description of Work: I was getting several quotes on replacement windows and doors. The sales representative was a bit high pressure, but likeable (despite showing up late after rescheduling twice;they only make appointments on EVEN hours?). His manager tried to contact me twice for follow up. I replied to him with my concerns. They were: 1) Complaints to the BBB about this company and 2) I wanted to investigate more detailed specs on the quoted windows. Neither he or the sales rep ever replied or contacted me. I guess my concerns were justified.

 + -1 moreWithin minutes of arriving at my house, the visiting estimator, Howard, wasted no time in making me feel like I was inconveniencing by having him give me an estimate. He touted his 22 years of experience in the window installation industry, clearly not one hour of which was spent in customer service. I could not believe someone looking to win my business couldve been so rude and condescending. Explore every other option before using them. Even then consider replacing your windows with saran wrap in lieu of using this company for your window needs.
Description of Work: I arranged to have a Window Wizards representative visit my house to give me an estimate for 18 replacement windows. The contractor was so rude and condescending we never got around to the estimate and I had to ask him to leave.

 + -1 moreVery good job. Installer estimated job would take 2 days. He brought a 5 man crew to install & said hed get it done in 1 day. Job turned out to be more involved than anticipated & it took him 3 days to complete, unfortunately the days were not consecutive & we had to be present during install over a span of 2 weeks.

 + -1 moreThe workers that installed my windows were punctual and did an excellent job installing them. I am just unsatified with the quality of the windows and would not recommend them to anyone. In addition, the salesman that sold us the windows, was very pushy.
Description of Work: We had a large picture window installed, as well as 7 replacement windows. The installation was great but the windows are defective and dirt keeps getting between the panes of glass and are impossible to clean. Apparently, Window Wizards does not manufacture their own windows. The manufacturer of my windows told me that this problem existed, because I live in an area that has trees and the problem cannot be avoided. The problem remains unresolved.
