DB Cleaning Services

This is a great cleaning service.  It's not like the big companies - it's family owned and operated.  Three people came to the house, including Douglas, the owner.  They got right to work.  They were very thorough.  My house looks great!
Douglas really wanted me to be happy with the work, and asked me several times if everything was to my liking.  And it was.
The fee was $180 because my house had not been cleaned since December 2011, and there was a lot of work to do.  It will be much less the next time they come, probably on a monthly schedule.

I contacted DB Cleaning after reading the reports on Angie's List to get an estimate for a deep cleaning for our 3 story 5 bedroom twin. Douglas came one evening as we had scheduled and went through the house with me. He explained what his estimate was based on (hardwood floors throughout, 2 dogs and 2 cats in addition to size) and we set up a date. Douglas arrived at the set time with a crew of two and the three of them spent over 7 hours cleaning our house from top to bottom. I was getting worried at the amount of time they were taking and whether the cost would go up but Douglas charged exactly what he had estimated originally. The house looked and smelled great! To keep it looking and smelling good, I am working with DB Cleaning to have them come out every two weeks. My husband and I are very pleased with the results and enjoy working with Douglas and his wife.

Everything was cleaned exceptionally well top to bottom! every piece of furniture was pulled out and cleaned behind, and the whole house looked wonderful. Looking forward to setting up a regular cleaning schedule with them. Very friendly and have already recommended thier work.

Douglas and his team came out to clean my house for the first time this weekend and did an excellent job.  When I initially called him, he promptly came out to do an in-home estimate in the evening and explained his cleaning services.  He was very polite and professional.  I decided to try his company even though his estimate was not the least expensive of the companies I interviewed because I thought his company would be more thorough and do a better job cleaning.  They did an excellent job with the initial clean, moving heavy furniture and getting on ladders to clean and dust in areas that I couldn't reach (and hence hadn't been cleaned for months).  The two other people that came with him to clean were also both very nice, polite, and efficient.  We will continue to use them for regular cleanings.  Of note, the two times I have met Douglas so far, he has been very prompt, even early for our appointments (but he called when he arrived early to make sure it was ok), which I appreciate.  It reflects the professionalism of his company.  He is very detail oriented, always asking for feedback, and wants to make sure your house is cleaned the way you want it.

I hired Doug and Brunna to clean my home after I finally admitted to myself that my physical limitations are keeping me from creating and maintaining a clean, cat-hair free home. They came on Friday (Dec. 2)  and they worked a miracle! My home gleamed with clean ! From the moment they entered the house they were considerate of my needs, my furniture, and my possessions; they treated me and my home with the utmost respect, courtesy and care. I don’t know how they do it -- even at the end of the day, their attention to detail and energy for their work was as strong as it had been at the very start. I am planning to have DB Cleaning  continue on a routine basis.

They were professional,  considerate and just easy to work with.  We will definitely use them again.   

They were prompt, brought all necessary equipment and had a huge job to do.  They came behind a contractor who left a big mess. I thought my furniture and rugs were ruined, but they were able to make them look like new. They did a fabulous job and I plan on having them back to do regular cleanings.

Douglas worked hard to schedule my cleaning so it would fall a day before several guests arrived. He and his team worked at a highly efficient pace and despite how quickly they finished not a single detail was forgotten. They did extraordinary work in a truly tight timeframe and left our house looking spectacular. I truly look forward to working with DB on an ongoing basis. I have already recommended DB to several friends.

Douglas was very responsive, polite, professional, and punctual. Four people came and cleaned (moving furniture) for approx. 4 hrs. They all did a fabulous job and I would certainly refer them and use them again as well!

Look no further! D & B Cleaning Services are nothing short of AMAZING! I am a type A, control - freak personality and a stickler for customer service. I called D & B and received a call back within 30 minutes. We immediately arranged for an in-house visit/estimate for a few days later and I booked right away.

On 10/22 the troops came to my house (which had been undergoing construction intermittently for 3 years!) and the result was perfect. Everything I asked for, they delivered. After 3 people cleaned the house from top to bottom for FOUR HOURS, it absolutely sparkled! 

This company is thorough and meticiulous. They clearly take immense pride in what they do and aim to please. This is a top notch operation and I give them my highest recommendation.

Douglas, Brunna and one other person came to our house and did a fantastic and thorough clean of the house. It was our first time using their service and we were extremely pleased. Afterwards, we signed up for a biweekly cleaning with them and it has been going great. They are always on time, paying attention to details, adjust their routine to our special requests, and are easy and friendly to work with. With a toddler at home, we are especially concerned with the products being used to clean. Douglas recommended green products for us and use those for our house cleaning. I would recommend their service to people who are like us, wanting a clean house but don't have time to attend to it. Their thorough clean is a bit pricey (they worked much longer hours and it was hard to clean the first time) but for routine cleaning, the rate is much more reasonable.

D&B did a phenomenal job doing a deep clean of our house. They were meticulous and even cleaned the top of kitchen cabinets and inside the fridge.  They scrubbed the heck out of the kitchen and bathroom floors to the point where they got out grime between tiles that I thought was there to stay.  They even took the screens off the windows to dust them.  When they said deep clean, they really meant it.  I had no idea they would spend so long and be so careful for the price we paid.  We tried different cleaning service before finding D&B, paid about $40 less, had 5 people descend on the house and leave 30 minutes later, leaving behind a job that can best be described as superficial.  D&B showed up with 3 people, spent 4 HOURS, and left the house the cleanest it's been in a long long time.

D&B is also very professional. Doug met with my husband before our first cleaning to get to know each other and talk about their company and services.  They also asked that we be present for the first cleaning to make sure we were happy with everything.  We had zero hesitation to ask D&B to come back and do bi-weekly cleanings.

Had an initial e-mail exchange with Douglas asking him to come to my house and provide an estimate for a thorough initial cleaning and a bi-weekly cleaning service thereafter.  Douglas was very courteous and accomodating in scheduling the estimate, and offered to come at night or on a weekend if I needed due to my work schedule.  Had an unexpected conflict come up at the last minute before our first appointment and Douglas rescheduled with courtesy and understanding.

My house is a large 4-Bed, 3.5-Bath with the usual common area rooms including Living Room, Family Room and a separate large Bonus Room.  It had not been cleaned properly for quite some time and needed a thorough cleaning (and dusting!).  DB did a great job with the initial cleaning and surpassed my expectations.  Beyond the usual you'd expect with a cleaning, they moved furniture to get behind and under, cleaned the ceiling fan blades and even removed, dusted and replaced the books off the bookshelves in my office.  The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, and the stainless steel was immaculate.  The house looks great and they definitely took care to make sure they provided excellent service.

I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of housecleaning service!

What we hoped for and more.

Our previous housecleaner has been sick for a few months.  The house was getting unbearable.  I didn't have time to keep it up.  I called DB cleaning.  Douglas came and gave us an estimate and the next Saturday, his crew came to clean the house.  All were extremely professional and friendly.  They paid attention to every detail.  I almost did not recognize the house after they were complete.  They even cleaned the refrigerator.  I am definitely going to continue their service!  I highly recommend them.

Absolutely as Godsend. Sending my youngest daughter off to grad school, relocating from California, not knowing anyone in Philadelphia, not being able to do the cleaning myself, I had to hire someone. That someone was Douglas and Brunna. Douglas was prompt to contact me and we discussed in GREAT DETAIL EXACTLY how I wanted the cleaning done. I even asked them to take photos so I could see if there were any problem areas that needed to be brought to the attention of the landlord.  Douglas provided me with much needed comfort during this whole process. As parents,  they understood the EXCESSIVE instructions given to them, by me, along with my desire to provide a clean/sanitized home for my daughter in my absence.  They were kind, patient and understanding. They did a fantastic job. I could not have asked for a better job. They did exactly what I asked and more. I am pleased with the final cost of the job, I actually expected to pay more (and would have paid more). Douglas and Brunna, THANK YOU for your hard work and attention to each individual clients needs.

Douglas arrived on time for the estimate.  When it came time for the cleaning, he called ahead of time so that I didn't hang around the house waiting.  The original plan was for four people to clean the house.  It turned out that part of the team needed to be elsewhere.   Douglas and Brunna did the job on their own.  And the results?  The house sparkled.  Windows are so clean that they look new.  All the appliances shine outside and inside.  Surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms - all clean.  Outlets, air vents, spaces behind appliances - every area is free of dust, dirt, and anything else that might have been there.  We feel really good about the job that was done.  And we're comfortable that the house will be much more appealing to potential buyers.  The top-to-bottom cleaning was everything we were expecting, and better!

Contacted DB Cleaners 9/2/11 and spoke to Douglas, who was very patient answering all my questions... a big plus to have someone answer their phone. Set up appointment to meet at my mother-in-law's on Tues 9/6/11. There were heavy rains that evening and some roads were flooded , but Douglas called and told us of the delay and also apologized for being late( which certainly was not his fault).  He was very professional, extremely patient and polite(answered  lots of questions!) , and very accommodating. Scheduled first cleaning for Tues 9/13. Douglas & Brunna showed up ahead of schedule(but called first to be sure that was ok). They cleaned every surface of her home...moved all furniture away from walls and cleaned everything and everywhere. We hired them for every 2 weeks , asked Douglas what he would charge to clean interior windows and this will be done with next cleaning for new customer!!! Wow .....  they really strive to please and they certainly do!

DB Cleaning is awesome! Douglas gave a  thorough estimate a few weeks ago and delivered on every promise. Douglas, Brunna and a 3rd assistant cleaned my elderly father's 3 bedroom twin from top to bottom. It took about 4+ hours.They were thorough, professional and personable. For this first initial cleaning they moved every piece of furniture and cleaned from top to bottom. I am very pleased and will definitely be continuing on with their services on a bi-weekly basis.

We are incredibly pleased with the work that DB Cleaning Services performed at our new 3-story home in Philadelphia.  The previous occupant kept cats, and their was a substantial amount of cat hair remaining in the home after that occupant departed.  Since I'm allergic to cats, it was very important to me to make sure that the cat hair was rcompletely emoved from the home. Also, the house had sat empty for several months before we moved in, and it was quite dusty.  We hired DB Cleaning Services to give the house a thorough cleaning the day before our belongings were delivered to the home by our moving company.  I spoke with Douglas on the phone to schedule the home cleaning just a few days before we needed their help, and he still managed to fit us into their schedule.  He was very professional, thorough in his explanations of their services, polite, and friendly. On the day of the home cleaning, he called to let me know what time their team would arrive, and they were very punctual.  Douglas, his wife Brunna, and one additional team member performed the work.  All three team members were polite, professional, friendly, hard-working, skilled at their jobs, and clearly cared a lot about performing their jobs well.  They spent four hours cleaning our home from top to bottom. They did a truly terrific job throughout our new home!  The movers have since delivered our belongings--and once we get everything unpacked, Douglas will come to our home to meet with us again to give us a quote for regular home cleaning visits. We look forward to continuing to work with DB Cleaning Services!

Douglas met with us before their first cleaning to discuss the company's services and provide an estimate.  He was attentive, courteous and clear about what was and was not included.  The DB cleaning team did an extremely thorough job on our initial cleaning, and we are looking forward to our regular biweekly house cleanings. 

We are extremely happy and satisfied with the job they did! Douglas was very thorough, friendly, and polite when he came by the house to do a walk through estimate. Throughout the whole process, he was always easy to communicate with and very punctual. I was very impressed when they were able to accommodate our short-notice scheduling request. DB Cleaning was back the next day, right on time! Douglas and his crew got to work right away. My boyfriend and I both felt very comfortable with them and had no worries about leaving the house for a few hours so we could stay out of their way. When we got back, the crew was intently working, moving the living room couch to clean underneath and dusting every picture frame, surface, etc. Their attention to detail is fantastic! They finished about 30 minutes later and overall we are thrilled with their service. The house looks, smells, and feels great! We will definitely be using DB Cleaning again in the future!
