DB Cleaning Services

They arrived a little late because of the weather but called to let us know what was happening. We appreciated the heads-up. They thoroughly cleaned the rooms I mentioned. The kitchen is particular sparkled. This was a great help to us since I had no time for this time of detail during this busy holiday season. I would like to use them again prior to the holidays if our schedule and money permits.

They are friendly. I can trust them in my house. They show up every Saturday at the same time. There are usually two people here doing the work. The house looks and smells good. They especially do a good job in the bathrooms. If we tell them not to go into a part of the house, they honor that. They are not nosy

They are by far the best cleaning company we have used in the area. We have tried about 3-4 different companies. We have a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom home. Two cleaners came out recently and completed the job in about 3 hours. They do a thorough job and make sure to get to every room in the house. They are very professional and use their own cleaning supplies. They send a reminder to confirm our appointments and have not missed an appointment. They are very responsive to calls and texts.

Contacted the provider on 9/28/14, they got back to me on 10/9/14 the job was already done by another provider.

Everything went well. They were very professional. Just about what you'd expect from a reliable cleaning service.

Four workers, plus Douglas, who was there for part of the time. They all worked hard and did an exemplary job. They may have cleaned more thoroughly than we anticipated, but that was fine. Douglas is very customer service oriented; and the crew was extremely polite and considerate, asking questions to make sure they were doing what we wanted, which was very good, because they planned to move all furniture and in some cases, we really didn't want certain pieces moved. We thought very highly of the crew and Douglas and will use them again, if we have the opportunity.

FANTASTIC. I was absolutely stunned at their great work. Feels like I'm living in a brand new house. Douglas was able to schedule me for service quickly (first contact was Wednesday; they were cleaning on Friday), and that was greatly appreciated because I have guests coming on Sunday. He was also able to work with my tough schedule and gave me advanced notice of his arrival and came to the house exactly when he said that he would. He quoted me a very, very reasonable price and stayed a bit later to make sure his team got the job done properly. So, to recap, (a) they worked very quickly and efficiently; (b) they worked for a reasonable price; and (c) they did amazing work. If you're looking for a cleaning service in Philadelphia, you can stop looking: this is the company for you.

The short version: this cleaning company is the absolute BEST! They schedule appointments quickly, their employees work swiftly and efficiently, every person you interact with from DB cleaning is beyond polite and professional, and they are ridiculously well priced. I won't ever use another cleaning service in Philadelphia again now that I've found DB cleaning. I'm a graduate student at Temple, and between packing and classes, I had no time to clean my old apartment before moving out. I had to schedule move-out cleaning only days before I was supposed to vacate the apartment; I sent a message to DB Cleaning rather late one night and Douglas got back to me immediately! The next day, a 4 person cleaning crew arrived at my door. They showed up exactly on time, and all four workers were as nice as anyone could be. They came in and immediately began cleaning my 1-bedroom apartment from top to bottom, and less than two hours later, the entire apartment was spotless. The cleaning services included, but were certainly not limited to: washing windows and windowsills, dusting blinds, vaccuming, cleaning the crown molding around the floor and ceiling, dusting, mopping and vaccumming floors, scrubbing the toilet/sinks/tub, and cleaning dishes (and my microwave!). All four of the employees in my house worked very quickly, and went above and beyond the call of duty. In under two hours, my apartment is cleaner than it was the day my landlords gave me the key. Look no further, this is the cleaning service you should use. The friendly employees and amazing prices coupled with the quality of their work combines into the best deal you could ever hope to find for cleaning services.

I was very pleased when this service became available again! I had first used them for an initial cleaning last fall, and was very happy with their work at that time. Since then, they have been here several times when their availability opened up last month. It is easy to see why they have been so popular and so busy. Their work is excellent and they are very punctual. Communications with this provider are quick, spot on, and very courteous; because of their superb communications, there have been no misunderstandings or disappointed expectations. I am very happy to recommend this service. They easily surpass the others out there for efficiency, professionalism, and ease of communication. Update: Since the provider began coming back, I had noticed that on the days when the same two women came for a cleaning, my cat was always put into the basement with the basement door firmly shut. When I would come downstairs after the cleaning, I'd hear him crying from the basement. I emailed Douglas to inquire about this. He told me that a large percentage of his clients had cats and that the women didn't put the cat in the basement. Since I have been the only person in the house during the cleaning and have never put the cat in the basement for any reason, I knew this wasn't accurate, but let it go. The women didn't appear to communicate easily in English, and I was unable to discuss it with them. Douglas simply denied that this had happened and did not follow up. At the time, I was disappointed that he would simply dismiss this question but I needed the cleaning help and didn't pursue it. For each of the times when the same 2 women came, the cat was put in the basement and had to be let out when I came downstairs after the cleaning. On their last cleaning, after they had left the house and were getting in their car, I saw my dog was unable to go down the steps and was crying and limping painfully. I ran out to ask the women what had happened, but really couldn't communicate well with them. The dog then had to be taken to the vet and treated, since he continued to limp for several days after. (The dog is a healthy, muscular 5-year old Golden Retriever with no known history of muscle or joint problems). When I raised this issue with Douglas, I was told (apparently without his discussing with his employees) that the injury had nothing to do with the 2 women and that "they would have told you if anything happened." Since they do not seem to be able to communicate freely in English, I rather doubt that they could have told me anything. Douglas went on to note that a high percentage of his clients have pets (which may be true, but isn't relevant). He did not promise to investigate or even discuss this with his cleaners, but as with the cat in the basement complaint, simply rejected the complaint out of hand. Since I knew that they had consistently put the cat in the basement despite his denial (the cat is smart, but can't put himself in the basement and firmly shut the door behind himself!), I really felt that I couldn't trust Douglas, his cleaners, or his answers. When I allow people to come into my home and am by myself with them, there has to be a good level of trust on my part and complete accountability on theirs. There had been some back and forth previously with Douglas concerning late arrival times and notifications about late arrivals, but I had overlooked this since I need the cleaning help. Douglas had asked for a 2-hour window for scheduled cleaning times, and although this was inconvenient, I went along with that. However, the injured dog was the tipping point for me and I decided to dispense with their help. While I can't state with any proof that the cleaners either injured the dog or knew what caused the injury, from that point I no longer felt I could trust their honesty or their supervisor's concern for my problems. I decided it wasn't worth the trouble, and terminated their services. In future I will go with a bonded cleaning service even if it is substantially more expensive, since I believe they would be more responsive to my concerns and easier to communicate with. Since the cat and the dog can't tell me what happened, I'm not comfortable having this service in my house with helpless pets. I still feel that this service does a good cleaning job and is reasonably professional in their provision of service. However, the lack of accountability and lack of follow-up to a client complaint makes me doubtful about using them in my home. I am sure that they would be perfectly fine for other clients - I'm just no longer comfortable with them.

The cleaning crew did a very thorough and professional job. A 2-bedroom apartment with living room, dining room, kitchen and terrace took only 2 1/2 hours. Reasonably priced service that I would use again.

Provider was prompt with communicating and was able to set appointment up on short notice. Cleaning was detailed with great work done in the kitchen and bathroom. Service also included carpet cleaning for 3 equivalent rooms (stairs and hallway count as rooms).

We had a very large home that was vacant and neglected and we needed it cleaned from top to bottom to get it on the market. DB was quick and professional in giving us the estimate and setting up the project and, when they arrived, I was impressed with how efficiently they tackled this huge mess of a house. Their attention to detail surpassed my expectations and, when they were done, the results were impressive. The treatment they did on our dirty scuffed hardwood floors made them shine and look in much better shape! No area was overlooked. I would definitely use them again.

Douglas and his team are wonderful! They are the most conscientious and thorough cleaning professionals I have ever used. Prior to the first cleaning service Douglas came over to assess the home. He asked a lot of questions to understand our lifestyle, needs and and special details that would be important. When he saw the baby toys and nursery, he talked about the type of cleaning cleaning products he would use to ensure our home was clean for a crawling baby, but also safe (in terms of chemicals, product residues, etc). He asked a lot of questions about which rooms we use the most. He offered suggestions on how they could clean the home to help minimize the amount of hair and dander from our cat and also discussed how they would clean special surfaces in our home--from rubber mats and equipment in our home gym to hardwood floors and teal furniture. I used DB from the time we first purchased and moved into our home until we moved overseas--a period of almost two years. They consistently cleaned my home well, and would always try to accommodate any special needs, whether moving our regularly scheduled service because I was home sick or adding an extra cleaning for last-minute entertaining. I found Douglas to be open to feedback, and responsive to any questions or needs. I spent about $360/month for bimonthly cleaning (about 2x/month) for a 4,500+ SF home with finished basement. The service included a once monthly whole house deep clean (finished basement + first and second floors) and a once monthly cleaning that focused on 1st & second floors only (kitchen, living rooms, dining area, laundry room, 4 bedrooms/3.5 baths). I recommend DB without hesitation, and will be using their services again once we return to the Philadelphia area. They are wonderful!

They did more than I expected.

I use them every two weeks and am very satisfied with what they do. Every visit they do the same items, tubs, floors, counters, mirrors, baseboards, mirrors, etc.. including the hard to get places like under beds, over doors, the blinds open and closed. They will do special jobs upon request such as the refrigerator, windows, change beds. They are the only service I feel comfortable referring to my friends and I am completely satisfied and are worth the price.

Friendly and pleasant staff where thorough and efficient. Only dropped the service as my wife and I are now both retired and can no longer argue that we're too busy to do it ourselves.

They are very thorough in cleaning and are very trust worthy. They also clean our offices at work. They are very responsible and accommodating. I would highly recommend them.

They were excellent. They do a very thorough job. Their cost was competitive. I don't really interact with them. We're not home when they arrive to do the work. They leave me notes. They're very thoughtful and considerate.

Douglas was very responsive via email in setting up the appointment. I appreciate being able to communicate over email and also having a written record of all that transpires. On the day of the appointment the team was delayed due to traffic- which they did a good job of communicating to me and texting me status updates. Once they did arrive they got right to work- they were friendly, professional and made me feel confident. Also, it was nice that Douglas was there the entire time. It was a little chaotic with all the people and me at home part of the time but that is to be expected. Once they were done the house sparkled! They cleaned every baseboard, ceiling fan, light fixture (by removing them), window, the OVEN, the coffee pot, inside, out and behind the fridge. The bathrooms gleamed, the beds were made, even the outdoor entryway with it's months of salt and debris was spotless. Yes it was expensive but it was a good investment for me and my family as there is no way I could get the house that clean by myself in one day. The cleaners were respectful and kind and were the type of people you are happy to give your business to- at least I was. I am looking forward to them coming back each month.

Returned phone call to set up appointment right away. Came when they said they would. Cleaned the gutters and downspouts. Very professional and would use them again. Was glad to have an Angie's list discount coupon, as well.
