Action Air Conditioning & Heating

From the estimate to the final product, I was extremely satisfied with my service through Action. Their mechanics are friendly, knowledgable, and very efficient. I called for an estimate, put down a payment, and my units were installed the same day! They work with your availability and do realize that you have busy lives. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend and will have them preform my yearly maintenance on my units.

ON FRIDAY MORNING I AWOKE, DRENCHED IN MY OWN SWEAT. I HAD A TERRIBLE NIGHT SLEEPING. AN THAT SAME MORNING AS I WALKED DOWN THE HALL FOR BREAKFAST. I NOTICED THAT MY THERMOSTAT WAS READING 85 DEGREES . SO I CALLED AT LEAST A HALF DOZEN OR MORE HEATING AN COOLING CONTRACTORS. ALL OF WHICH INFORMED ME, THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SERVICE MY A/C UNIT . FOR AT LEAST 2 DAYS AND SOME OF WHICH STATED UP TO 2 WEEKS. I THEN, CALLED ACTION A/C AND HEATING. AND FINALLY, GOT THE ANSWER THAT I HAD BEEN HOPING FOR. NOT ONLY DID THEY SAY THEY COULD MAKE IT OUT THAT VERY SAME DAY. BUT THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED WITHIN AN HOUR OF MY CALLING FOR SERVICE. MY A/C HAD BEEN GIVING PROBLEMS FOR A FEW YEARS. IT WAS APPROX. 15 YRS. OLD. THE A/C HAD A FREON LEAK , WHICH SEEMED TO GET WORST YEARLY. AN A MOTOR, WHICH I REPLACED THREE SUMMERS AGO. SO WITH THIS MOST RECENT EQUIPMENT FAILURE, I DECIDED TO REPLACE MY A/C SYSTEM. I WENT WITH ACTION AND HAD THEM INSTALL A HIGH EFFICENCY A/C AN COIL. THE TECHNICIANS WERE ALL CLEAN, FAST, FRIENDLY. THEY HAD THE SYSTEM FULLY INSTALLED IN SEVERAL HOURS. THEY EVEN HAULED AWAY THE OLD A/C UNIT. THE WARRENTY THEY GAVE WITH THE EQUIPMENT WAS EXCELLENT. THE COST WAS FAIR AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH. I WOULD RECOMMEND ACTION, TO ALL MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, AN COLLEGUES. I AM SLEEPING COMFORTABLEY IN MY BED TONIGHT THANKS TO "ACTION" . HVAC.

We had a problem at my mothers home for a years had other company out they would fix it and last a few months. We called Ation Air after she seen truck near Her home. they came out and told her what the problem was and said the coil was leaking and replacing the system was needed. We only replaced the indoor part for now but we will call them to replace the unit outside at end of summer as it also provides heat for the home. It was funny Mom said they moved right in When they covered her carpet and some storage boxes to protect them. We are Happy and they solved a 3 times a year problem.

They came to our condo & within 10 minutes states that our 6 year old air conditioning unit compressor would need to be replaced at a cost of $3,300. I immediately requested a formal written bid outlining the scope of work and the cost. Jim & Rae were adament that there were no other options. Once I communicated that I would want a 2nd opinion, they wouldn't send me the proposal. I was also told that if I didn't replace the unit the same day (they happened to have availability) that they couldn't get to it until Sat. I continued to call them Tuesday, Wed, Thursday and Friday requesting the quote and I was put on 5 minute holds and told that they were busy. I also called & asked to communicate with the owner which is listed on website as Mr. Lomas, I was told the owner was very busy and the lady told me she didn't know when someone could get back to me. However, on Tuesday I was able to get another HVAC professional who was highly recommended by my home contractor & begged him to evaluate our air conditioner, he stopped by & had our unit running in less than 30 minutes & has been running excellent since & its been close to 90 degrees every day since. (The bill will be less than $300.) The other odd point that made me question this company was that our unit is down at the beach & every other HVAC place we called was so busy they couldn't see us yet this company could come first thing in the morning. I called them at 5 p.m. on Monday & they could come at 9 a.m Tuesday. Also, they aske several times if we had "renters' in the unit. I truly believe that they wanted to make a decsion on spendinging $3,300 because they knew we had people staying at our place. The manager Rae/Jim- I was never clear because they wouldn't give me their last names was always very condensending to me & wasn't happy that I asked any questions at all. After 20 years of home ownership, I have never had a contractor give me a hard time because I trust them because they are the experts. I always ask questions and they are always willing to explain things to me but not these contractors. Please make sure that any contractor you use in PA is registered by the PA general attorney's office. When my co worker called this company and asked for the number, they were given PA075241. This is an expired number listed as an electrical company from North versailles pa & the ownr is Daneen Holshue. I can't confirm or deny this number except to state that it is expired & listed as electrical and not HVAC which is very specialized. Please be very careful with any contractor who comes out and immediately tells you that you require a brand new system and will cost several thousand dollars. Please spend the time and $$ on a 2nd opinion. It saved us thousands.

my air conditioning stopped working, i called action, they were there within the hour, as promised. The tech found a freon leak, he fixed the leak and it only cost me 375.00. Where another company wanted to charge me 1500.00. wow action great job...thank you.

During the heat wave our ac was not working properly. We called another local company to come out. They gave us an estimate of $1500 to fix our air. I thought that was too high so I called for a second opinion. I called Action & they came out as promised, in 2 hours. Joe was our service guy. He inspected our system & told us that it was a bad capaciter. With the service call & part, the repair was only $275 TOTAL, much cheaper than the 1st company we called. Glad we didn't go with the 1st company and we called Action. Joe was pleasant, and seemed to have much knowledge concerning not only our air but our heater too. We definitely will use Action in the future.

Our a/c unit broke down and our previous contractor was not able to come out until the following week. We called Action and they said they could come out to diagnose the situation that day. We set an appointment , they came on time, worked on the existing unit but they explained to me that repairs to such an old unit would be costly. Their technician Mike then took the time to explain the benefits of a more efficient system. Even though we were not expecting to spend money on a new air conditioning system this year, Action provided a financing option that made it affordable. They came back to the next day to install a new Westinghouse hi efficiency air conditioning system. We were very happy with Action and their technician Mike and will recommend them to out friends and neighbors.

WHEN I FOUND OUT MY A/C WAS NOT WORKING, I CALLED A COMPANY WHO WAS JUST TRYING TO SELL ME A NEW UNIT,TOLD ME DO TO HURRICANE SANDY THE UNIT WAS SHOT. I FOUND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A 8YR OLD UNIT WAS JUST SHOT., SO I CALLED OUT ANOTHER COMPANY WHO ALSO TRIED TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $1600.00 TO REPAIR. WELL THEY SAY THE THIRD TIME IS A CHARM SO NOW I CALLED OUT THE THIRD COMPANY, I CALLED ACTION AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING, THE SERVICE MAN THEY SENT OUT WAS SO POLITE, HE EXPLAIN TO ME EVERYTHING THAT HE WAS DOING, HE TOOK HIS TIME AND TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS GOING TO COST, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WHEN HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE $215.00 TO CLEAN & REPAIR, WITHIN A HOUR, MY A/C WAS WORKING BETTER THE EVER. THANKS TO ACTION I SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. WHEN THE TIME COMES THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE MY UNIT,I WILL BE CALLING ACTION TO DO THE JOB.

After we agreed on a price of $3100, Action sent two workmen who spent all day and half the night (until 8:30 pm) . . When they found it was not cooling, they went to the attic and found that the coils had to be replaced. They got their boss, Ben, on the phone and to my amazement he told me that just the parts cost $ 700. But that because we had a deal of $3100 ,he had ordered the workers t o go get the new parts and that there would be no additional charge! Well, my belief in the goodness of man was restored. I can not thank enough all the people who made my home cool again. Starting from Melanie,who answers the phones to Manny and the two men who worked all day long installing.

Cleaned unit, changed filters, checked operation. Everything went smooth. Priced reasonably. Technician was on time and presented himself nicely and professionally. Would refer to family & friends.

WELL I WOKE UP THIS MORNING TO A VERY HOT HOUSE .. MY AC UNIT WAS OUT.. I SEEN ACTION HAEATING AND AIR IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE PAST.. SO I CALLED THEM .. IT WAS 6 IN THE MORNING AND I GOT A LIVE VOICE .., NOT A MACHINE .. THAT IS A PLUS TO ME.. THE SERVICE TEC. WAS AT MY HOME BY SEVEN THIRTY AM.. VERY CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL.. I ASK HIM IF HE WANTED COFFEE OR WATER HE SAID HE WAS FINE.. REMEBER ITS 80 DEGREES ALLREADY.. WELL ABOUT A HOUR WANT BY AND THE TECHNICIAN KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND SAID TO TURN ON THE AC UNIT..IT WAS FIXED ... HE SAID IT WAS A BAD CAPACITOR AND HE CLEAN THE COILS .. AND HE TOLD ME THAT MY UNIT WAS IN GOOD SHAPE FOR BEING 15 YEARS OLD.. HE ALSO MENTION THAT I BOUGHT A GOOD UNIT WITH A SCROOL COMPRESSOR.. WHAT EVER THAT MEANS .. BUT IT MADE ME FEEL GOOD.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY..THEY GAVE ME THE PRICE UP FRONT TOO .....

The house is only 13 years old so it seemed ridiculous that we would need a new heater and air conditioner. We called another AC / heater company (not through Angie's list) and he came out the next morning. He replaced the thermostat for $125 and the air conditioner now works just fine.

They were accurate and they were pleasant. They did a good job with the heat. I will not know how well the heater will work until it gets cold enough or how well the air conditioner will work until it gets hot enough to use it. I am not sure about price, I did not shop around, and he was here when I needed it done. The quality of his work was good. When I had a problem, he was right back here. They did not leave a mess.

I didn't like the attitude of the guy who came here, I think his name was Joe, but he did his job. He was rude the first time he came out. The second time he came out was better. The motor blower went off again after six weeks so he came back and checked it. There was something wrong with it even before we moved in, so the owner of the company called us and they replaced the whole system for us. They suggested that they would replace a brand new whole system and that we would split the labor cost, so we paid $800 and they paid $800. I think the experience was good; they responded really quick. Both times the system went off on a Sunday and anytime I called there was a response and they came out the next day.

I am deaf and called 3 times through my interpreter service. I was hung up on every time.

Project went very well. A service man came to the house on a Sunday and arrived with 45 minutes of my requesting the service. They explained that the visit would cost more because it was Sunday. Work was scheduled the following Tuesday. The men arrived as promised and completed the work very quickly. A part needed to be replaced which was covered by the warrenty, they have it on order and will install when it is received. Their communication with me was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Thursday night around dinner time, I noticed the heat in the house was not working, Called Action Air 24 hour service line, A tech came out within an hour and quickly diagnosed my problem (bad blower motor). They replaced my motor that night, and had our heater up and running again in no time. The install was quick & The service tech was clean & friendly and Explained everything to me each step of the way. I would def use them again. Great service Work.

The prompt efficient service was a pleasure and the workers were very helpful and explained everything in detail and at no time did we feel forced in buying anything. Excellent company to deal with!!! Very pleased!

On time, presentable, friendly, clean, came out 2 hours after my call, accurate over the phone estimate for service, follow up phone calls were nice.

Overall a great experience. Calls returned immediately and came out the next day to fix my heater. No time wasted they found the issue immediately and resolved same day. Great service thank you!

It was the hoilday weekend, and i had no heat in the house. I did not think i would be able to get someone out late on this weekend, being the hoilday. Well i called Action Heating & Air, and a person actually answer the phone. Told me no problem, that he could have a tech out within 1 to 2 hrs. Within the hour there was a knock on the door, it was Action, as promise. The gentleman who come out was a very well manner, and explained everything to me what was wrong & what it would cost to fix, well the price was a little higher the i expected, but it was worth it, not long after i had heat, and was very happy with the service i recieved that night. after the hoilday i did call around and the price was not as much as some prices i got. I am very happy with the services from Action, and we use them again.

On 12/13 my heating system failed. I panicked and called 3 contractors for estimates. The pricing was competitive for all estimates. Service after pricing now was the main issue. I needed my system relaced immediately. Didn't need frozen pipes etc. All the estimates were for the heating system only except for Action Heating and Air. Ben suggested to relace the heating and ac together and save money at the same time. The ac unit was also 18 years old as was the heater. Besides the prompt service and response for the estimate Ben answered all my questions and could install the system the next day. I was glad to be referred to Action by one of my coworkers. The system was installed and is fantastic......

I was given 2 prices for a replacement system -- $4450 for and new furnace comparable to the system the technician had in his rental properties or $3950 for a "piece of junk" that he did not recommend. I was told that if I didn't install the new system "today" I would have to wait a week for installation -- not good for my tenants. I said I had to do research, asked him the size/specs of the unit he had priced for me, thanked him and hung up. I called a company who had installed a system for a co-worker last week to get another price. This man immediately questioned the size of the system Action was propsing to install. He gave me a ballpark price 100 less than the" junk system" quoted by Action and said he would come out to give a firm quote. I got another call from Action asking what I had found out and saying he would match the price/make/model of the other company. I said I would let him know. The second company came out and quoted a price of $3650 for a system (I think) is better suited to the size of my unit. I told them to go ahead and install it. I got another call from Action. I told him that I decided to go with the other company. He asked what I was paying. He said he could have installed the same system for $2500! WHAT? If you could go that low to begin with, why were you playing games? The entire time I dealt with Action, I felt like I was being taken for a ride - they were trying take advantage and to get what ever the market would bare. I don't know anything about heaters and they knew it. Would not recommend them!

They were prompt with initial visit, recommendations, & pricing. Started on time and did a good job. Just came back recently when we had a question and showed us what we needed to know, at no charge. Excellent company.
