Description of Work: Had my existing electrical service in my condo upgraded to a 100amp service from a 60amp service. I also had a few new outlets installed as well as a 220 outlet for a new stove. Not only was Greg very friendly and easy to deal with.....he was also very professional and completed his work in a timely manner. Any time I have electrical work in the future, I will not hesitate to contact him again.

 + 0 moreGreg ran 220V from the panel out to the new hot tub in coordination with the main hardscaping contractor. The job was safely and neatly completed to code by noon. We were soaking in warm water by 8 pm. Although on the big job Greg was actually the sub-contractor, he was very responsive to minor issues we had during the same time frame. As a direct, he put in a bathroom light and a new outlet as part of a bathroom remodel we were doing. I was very appreciative that he came out the next day so that we weren't in the dark, especially because we found unsafe wiring when we were taking down the old bathroom. He fixed a 20 year old homeowner weekend special and left us a temporary fixture until will complete the cosmetics. Greg's prices were competitive, but not the lowest. Not really interested in the cheapest where we are mixing electricity and hot water.

Description of Work: Wired living room for new flat screen TV that was mounted above a fireplace. All HDMI, cable, and electrical wires hidden with new electrical boxes and also hidden from sight. Also, installed new hood lights for our stove/range.

 + 0 moreGreg is an excellent and professional electrician. I have used him on multiple occasions. I initially used him to help me figure out the electrical system in a house I had just purchased. This is not something that many electricians are interested in tackling. He did the job gladly and competently. Then soon after that two of my freezers went out unexpectedly. I tried the fuses etc. to no avail and called Greg at about 5PM on a Friday. He came right over, and spent about 2 hours figuring out a fairly complex issue. I have also used him for more standard tasks such as light fixtures and landscape lighting, which he he also does well. I think his prices are fair, and he is very easy to deal with. I would give him my highest recommendation.

The main job was running a 220v line for a dual gas/electric range I had purchased. Greg also rewired a couple outlets. Since then, I have had Greg back to install under cabinet lighting and troubleshoot another dimmer light. He helped me troubleshoot a GFCI outlet issue over the phone (free of charge) on a Saturday. I will continue to use Greg in the future. He is prompt, thorough, and extremely responsive. I consider his work to be of great value.

 + 0 moreMy experience went great!! This is my first experience with Angie's List and I would use the List again based on this experience. I contacted Kowall Electric with my needs via Angie's List email . The owner responded quickly - I was told by PECO that they were going to shut off my electric within 2 weeks if I didn't attach my meter box to the house. The job was done quickly and I asked if a motion light could be attached to my house to light my drive way. This wasn't a problem either. I would use Kowall Electric again and again because of this experience I would use Angie' s List again.
Description of Work: He attached the underground electric meter box to my house and installed a motion light for my driveway.

 + -1 moreThis company is amazing. Greg emailed me back within 3-4 hours of emailing him. He told me what he thought my issues were based on my description. He came out within 2 days of emailing him. He explained everything to me before he did it. He explained the cost before he did anything. When he was completed, he reviewed all the work that he did. He was so professional and helpful that I told him about other jobs I needed done. While he was there, he gave me an additional quote for other work and again, explained the quote in detail. I cannot wait to have him back out to complete the next job I need done. He is super friendly, polite, and all-around professional. I think I found my new electrician as long as he is in business.
Description of Work: Had questionable wiring-determined the safety of the wiring as well as the issues, installed a ceiling fan, and created safe electricity in my 2nd bedroom/office.

 + -1 moreI had 2 major issues. First, the radiators burst in my house when it was vacant and the heater broke down. Greg discussed with me the options for replacing the heaters. I decided on replacing with electric baseboard heaters. He installed them all for the price quoted. He had to punch some holes in walls to put in the control thermostats and had someone patch all the holes and fix the paint and did a beautiful job. The second job was that when I had the inspector come to inspect the property it turned out the previous electrician had done sub-par work and the circuit box would not pass inspection. Tenants had already moved in. Greg came the next day and repaired the box. The inspector came again, reinspected the work and it passed, and the tenants moved back in. I would highly recommend Kowall Electric on the terms of quality of service, fair price, promptness, cleanliness, and support in emergencies.
Description of Work: Kowall Electric had to put in all new baseboard heaters in my house. I also had an inspection issue that needed an emergency fix to the circuit box in order for me to pass inspection and allow tenants to move in.

Description of Work: Greg did a great job for us here in Folsom, Delaware County, PA. Gregs' 1 person business office is in Lester but he actually lives in Ridley Park. He made 9 different improvements for us for $800. He only asked for $750 but after watching him work every step of the way, I was so pleased that I gave him an extra $50. He replaced 2 old, non-functioning, lights with 2 new motion/security light floodlight fixtures at the front and back of our garage.He added a new circuit or our screened-in back porch by running a line the length of the house from the circuit-breaker box to the porch and he added a GFCI outlet on the far wall of our porch. He also added 2 GFCI outlets to the outside of the back porch on adjacent walls so we can plug-in electrical tools outside. He ran a new cable line from the front of the house to our screened-in porch in back of the house. He added an additional circuit from the fuse box to the front porch so we have electricity in the front now.He added a heavy gauge copper grounding cable to our grounding rod and connected it to the circuit breaker box. He also suggested a Leviton 51110 Whole House Surge Protection panel to the first 2 slots on our main circuit-breaker box which required him to move other circuits on the board. He did all of this stuff in approx a day and a half and a lot of this work was complicated enough that I would have only allowed a licensed electrician to do it. I now feel our home is as safe as we can possibly make it, to protect us from potential electrical surges. Our house is 3 stories and we lost a dryer and our garage door opener was "fried" a few years ago in a lightning strike and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again.
