They're okay for cell service. I wouldn't say the same for landline phone service. They're supposed to be a service provider, but they focus too much on the money. Rather than making huge profits, they should be making sure the service they provide is good.

After service was activated in June, we had no dial tone or internet for seven days. After three phone calls to troubleshoot and an outage in our area, a technician came out and corrected what he described as an installation issue by the original technician. Service worked for only 1.5 days before we lost internet again. A 3 day outage occurred, after additional phone calls we were told it was due to equipment issues in their central office. After service returned, download speed was 0.48 Mb/s, and upload speed was 0.14 Mb/s. We couldn't even open google homepage in less than 90 seconds. A long wait (greater than 30 minutes) on the phone queue got us to technical support who confirmed our speed was unacceptable. In addition to sending a replacement modem, I was transferred to sales to upgrade service to the 7-10 Mb/s package. However, after another very long wait on hold (30 minutes), that sales representative told me that 7-10 Mb/s was not available at my location after all. Any two Verizon reps I spoke to did not seem to be working from the same set of information. At that point we cancelled the service. The customer service representative who closed our account apologized for the poor service and told me that because we cancelled within 30 days, we were within the trial period and would not be billed and she would note this in my account. Three months later in Sept, we received a notice from a collection service for an outstanding bill of $80 from Verizon. I contacted Verizon to resolve, but they responded that I must have been misinformed and needed to pay the bill to avoid being reported to a collection agency which would impact credit rating. I payed the bill but will not be going anywhere near a verizon product in the future.

He came, he figured out what was wrong and fixed it. I had not disconnected all the original FIOS equipment, and when I went to install the two new Quantum boxes, the Verizon Computer thought I had too many TV boxes.

Verizon is my landline and internet provider. I have been having on going issues with my internet useing DSL. When I have web connection is is slow and the wireless does not work for my DIRECTV or my wireless printer. Phones calls to Verizon have been unsatisfactory, they just have me reset the modem and says and quot;there its fixedand quot;. The problem is that the modem must be reset numberous times a day... Service is just not good..

They are reliable but are extremely overpriced. I pay for three cell phones, TV and the landline a month. They have a very good coverage. They have a hot line that when you call, they get the problems resolved and are pretty responsive. When I had individual problems they have been pretty punctual.

Tech was great, rewired as needed and replaced bad wiring and explained each step as he went along. Since I have line service there was no cost involved.
Description of Work: I called Verizon for assistance with my DSL line. The person on the phone insisted my router was bad, after replacing the router the line went down. Called for service and I was able to get a tech over the next morning. He had to replace the line from the outside box on the side of the house and rewired the jacks that my DSL was connected to so I no longer need filters in those jacks. I was able to see an overall increase in my service and it has work flawlessly since.

Later in the day, on October 1, an agent from Verizon called and advised they were denying the claim and that I would have to pay the bill. I requested to speak with his supervisor and he refused. It apparently means little to them that whoever is using our old phone number is probably still running up huge phone bills (which I assure you I will not pay). They seemed to have no interest in stopping the illicit activity.
Description of Work: October 1, 2008: Received a bill for $277.30 from Verizon for phone calls made to Jamaica from a telephone number that we surrendered a year ago when we moved. Called Verizon to advise they have a fraud deal going. After spending 10 minutes pressing buttons and being on hold, I was told to call another number (800-660-0505), more hold time, then spoke to a Mrs. Jewel in the Fraud department, who informed me I need another department. Called that number (800-880-3987) and spoke to a Ms. Pinnecoose who took down the information, but said even though I couldn't possibly have made the calls since we have no access to that phone any longer, I still had to fax a letter and send a copy of the bill to them to resolve the problem. I faxed over all the information to 877-544-1954.
