Customer service dismissive. Promise to have this issue fixed for more than 3 years now. No resolution in sight but promises keep coming. It's impossible to use this connection to watch Netflix, play online games, or even do homework or remote into the office. If it does work, it won't last for more than an hour or two at a time without the speed dropping. Refuse to keep up with companies like RCN et.al. Their network is brought to its knees every night after dinner when everyone logs on.
Description of Work: Internet is literally 25 times slower than advertised. when you call customer service, they tell you everything is fine from their end, and basically that's it. You're stuck.

It's just convenient with telephone combination plus cable. However, intermittently sometimes they send you a letter how wonderful the company is doing and then the following month, the bill goes up.

Service Electric was very thorough! Really looked into the problem and made sure it was fixed. I am not sure of the exact date as it was a while ago. Haven't had the problem since. The technician was REALLY nice too. Very personable and professional. I felt comfortable with him there. LOVE this cable company and would actually select where I live just so I can have their service and not the competition.

I am somewhat satisfied with their service, but their price is high for what I receive. Also, I cannot use any other cable provider because my developer signed an agreement with SECTV that allows them to be the only provider in my development. Therefore SECTV has no competition and no incentive to lower their price or provide a wider range of services.

Installation was fast because we had an existing cable connection. Prompt and professional.
Description of Work: We dropped Verizon as our phone/Internet provider and switched to a value package with Service Electric for phone, internet and cable. We previously had just cable service with them. The switch has saved us about 70 dollars a month and the service has been mostly good with a few instances of dropped internet. Customer service is usually great, although had a slight issue when ordering PPV. Happy we made the switch and love the convenience of online bill pay.

I switched to Service Electric Cable TV telephone service in order to save money what I didn't expect was a less then stellar phone system. I lost call waiting on several occasions and they would reset that feature. What I didn't know was that when someone called while I was or wasn't on the phone they would get a message saying I was on the phone and be sent to voicemail. Twice the service just went out and I was told they had 72 hours to restore it. The only good thing was that the longest the phone was out was six hours. The biggest problem was the fact that I never knew when someone called and got the message I was on the phone because there were no indications there was a problem. I had dial tone so I assumed the phone was working. I would only find out later when the person calling would call back a few hours later telling me the line was busy when no one was using the phone at the time. I wouldn't recommend anyone switch from an actual land line to phone service over cable line.
Description of Work: No service was preformed this was a matter of not having the phone work correctly over several months.

Description of Work: They use PenTeleData for their internet and E-mail services. The E-mail was very bad. In fact, we changed to another E-mail provider. PenTeleData attempted to contact us via E-mail to our now closed PTD account. We never received the information PTD sent even though we sent them our new E-mail address. Then information was supposed to be sent to our new addresses but it was never sent.

High speed Internet from Service Electric is literally a "joke". I've complained repeatedly and had their service technicians at my home several times already and I still only obtain 918 Kbps download and 2.2 Mbps upload for the max high speed two way service. The information I am constantly given at each service call is, "The problem seems to be outside your home." My reply always is then, "OK, please fix it!" It's so bad that if I were to turn on 2 TV sets in my home simultaneously, my Motorola SURFboard cable modem will drop it's connection. My package includes 5 e-mails and only a pathetic 50 MB of storage, which is accessible through another Internet hosting service on-line (very lame). You can probably understand why I use Gmail instead with 6913 MB of storage that is absolutely FREE! My monthly rate for cable & Internet comes to $99.43, which is a total rip-off. Service Electric offers their loyal long-term customers no upgrade (even though I requested one) to their latest Valu-PIC promo: Valu-PIC (Phone, Internet, Cable) Plus.... $99.95 per month* Triple Play Offer: Order or upgrade now and receive this package for only $79.95 per month for an entire year just by mentioning promo #565! Unfortunately, my address is located "just" outside of their service area for cable and Internet. If they were available, I'd drop Service Electric in a heartbeat...
