+ -1 moreArrived on time finished sanding the first day. Dust was surprisingly minor. Second day applied first coat,some fumes but not bad. Could walk on floors in stockinged feet after 1.5 hours. Day 3 and final day applied second coat. Could walk on floors in stockinged feet after 4 hours. The floors look just beautiful!
Description of Work: Refinished hardwood floors in 2 bedrooms,hallway, and staircase. Replaced 2 broken stair treads.

Description of Work: Applewood refinished two rooms for us last year. We had been pleased with it and made an appointment for them to do a different area.

+ -1 moreThey performed a fantastic job. They came to our houe and accurately measured all floors and gave us an estimate on the spot. They provided us with a date they could do the work, which was in a reasonable amount of time. There was a spot or two they had to come back and refinish, which is why I gave a B for quality - I guess if it was perfect I would have given an A, but consider this a B+/A-. When I told them of the spots that needed to be redone they scheduled immediately without hesitation and fixed the spot of concern. Our floors look fantastic

+ -1 moreApplewood was prompt every day. They were neat and clean. Their system was completely dustless. Their equipment is top of the line. As a wood worker myself I can attest to Dan's refinishing knowledge. Dan Macintosh has many years experience refinishing and installing floors and is a true professional. We were amazed at the results and truly please with the work. We could not be more satisfied. Our once dull looking foyer is now spectacutar and a true asset to our home. Description of Work: Applewood Floor Refinishing refinished a Bruce prefinshed floor in our foyer. The original floor was prestained to appear as perhaps maple while the wood itself was accually red oak. The floor was laid up as most prefinished floors with bevels between boards. Ultra violet light had faded the original finish of the floor. Applewood sanded the floor, dustlessly, removing all the bevels between boards from the original floor and exposing all the beautiful natural grain of the red oak. Then a filler was used on the red oak to fill the grain and the floor was again sanded with a finer grit sand paper. The a final sanding was performed with a higher grit paper using a six head random orbital head sander. A final buffing was applied and a Golden Oak stain was applied to the floor and allowed to dry overnight. The next day two coats of water based polyurethane was applied and allowed to dry between coats. We were given specific future floor care instructions.

+ -1 moreThey were a referral from a neighbor. They also do insulation. Their work was very high quality and they did the work very fast. When they were finished at the end of the day, they cleaned up everything so that it was safe for my children. They were very contentious about the way they left the house for my family. They fashioned custom thresholds out of the same wood that they used on the floors. They are wide and beautiful and they are not something that you could buy in a big box store. It really distinguishes the work as being fine craftsmanship. I would recommend them to others. I told everybody I know and we will use them again in the future. They gave me a lot of care and maintenance information and said that if your dog or kids scratch the floor that they could come back and refinish the floors for us at a very good price. Their price was much better than others that we had gotten.
Description of Work: They installed hardwood floors for us and I am very impressed with them.
