Very nice job. Kept us informed on progress, when he would be coming, etc. Accurate in estimates of when phases of project would be complete. Considerate of kids and new baby in the house and arranged construction schedule around their schedules as much as he could. Used subcontractors for plumbing, heating, paint; these individuals were all punctual and professional. Meticulous in attention to fine details. Worked hard to blend addition in with the pre-existing part of the house. Checked in at several time points after completion of project. There were a few minor problems once we started using the room, and he addressed these rapidly and effectively. Final project looks terrific. The whole thing was finished in about 12 weeks.
Description of Work: New bedroom/bath added above garage.

We have been wanting to put on a porch at our house for several years. This was the second time we used Inch by Inch so we were comfortable working with Andy. I sent him an "inspiration" picture of our porch and he made it happen! We wanted to keep a maple tree that sits directly in front of where the porch would be located (about 2 feet actually) and although we did trim it back a bit, he took great care not to harm it during the excavation and build. He was excellent with communication. From what to expect on their arrival times, dates and notifications of deliveries to any delays there may be and why. We definitely felt comfortable with Andy, his "right hand man" Omar, and the rest of his crew being here in our home and look forward to our next project with them. Sincerely, Julie & Rich Orris
Description of Work: Coordinate the excavation of 32' x 9' space in front of our house & install acid stained concrete patio; demolition of siding, roof overhang, gutter & soffit; replace with cedar timber framed porch with metal roof; replace vinyl siding with authentic cedar board and batten siding and install cultured stone wainscotting; install two ceiling fans, added electrical outlet and reinstalled new light fixture. Gutter replaced with copper gutter and downspout. He obtained the necessary

The basement worked on is in a large 5 yr. old ranch home.. We wanted to create a comfortable area in about a fourth of the existing area. Right from the beginning Andy listened to what we wanted to create and went about bringing it to completion. He is a complete professional who knows his craft and is an artist in his approach. The work was completed in a timely manner and the finished product was even better than what we had envisioned. Andy brought in various skilled workers who built the rooms, placed the electrical work, doors, floors and completed the plumbing and painted the entire new area. Workers were courteous, conscientious and very neat. The men came when they said they would; made certain we got what we wanted; put up with our curious 6 yr. old grandson; and left everything neat at the end of each day. Andy did several little things that made the finished project seem more home-like rather than an empty room, bathroom and hall. An instance in this was the creation of shelves in the closet in the bathroom and the chose of vanity in the same room. He always kept an eye on what the finished product should look like. Overall we could not be more pleased with his and his workers work and work ethic. They each took pride in their workmanship.
Description of Work: Created a large room, bathroom and slush area in my existing basement. The work included additional lighting, electrical work, sheet rocking, painting, new flooring and plumbing. Additional heating work was completed by another provider.

They were so timely, efficient, and kind. This work was to make my legally blind Grandmother's in-law suite more accessible. They were sweet to her and did the work in a quick and unobtrusive manner. We will have them back to do other work.
Description of Work: Removed brickwork from walls and floor where wood stove used to be. Built the wall out, put up paneling and painted it. They also laid linoleum and installed extra electrical outlets.

Our screened-in porch that Andy & his team built is stunning. I mean, seriously stunning. We get so many compliments on it from people that come to our house - even my mother-in-law! ;0) The quality of work was exceptional and I really enjoyed working with Andy and Omar. They were always punctual (it became a running joke between my husband and me) and they even got the job done even a couple days ahead of schedule (took about a month in total). We found Andy through Angie's List (thanks previous reviewers for your help!). We had him, as well as a couple other contractors, come out and give us a bid on work that we ended up not doing. Andy was the clear and obvious choice if we had done that body of work, so we called him back when we were ready to do the porch. It took a few months between his schedule at that time and the permit process, but he was able to help us get the project done before my son's first birthday party that we were holding at our home. There are many things that I really like about working with Andy: he really loves what he does and loves more interesting projects (if you can dream it, he can build it!), he is a perfectionist when it comes to how things come out - balancing both looks and functionality, he is flexible (I changed my mind a few times here and there and we were able to work in new designs as we went along), he thinks through the projects and all the steps along the way to keep the project moving, and he is easy to get along with. Here are some specific examples of how custom my project was to make a "fun" experience. Things like he: - found a piece of reclaimed old barn wood for my fireplace mantel - helped me track down specific stone veneer colors for my fireplace. I was able to customize it with a color specialist to get the exact color I was looking for to tie in my tile flooring, wood-stained vaulted ceiling, and porch furniture - brought different options for trim so I could pick out what I wanted - was patient with me on which wood stain I wanted to place on the vaulted planked ceiling - he listened to me when I said maintenance free trim work (he did all azek and floor to ceiling screens for me - it looks great and cleans down nicely) -concealed the cable wire from the side of the house to my fireplace mantel. They spent a bit of time working the cable cord UNDER the siding so it was completely concealed rather than just running it along my siding and even built it into the vaulted ceiling design since I wanted no wires present (it's a pet peeve of mine!) I find him to be a bit pricier, but his bid never changed (unless I added stuff in after the fact - my fault!), and he stands by his work. There was a small gap under the door sweep that I noticed about a month after the project ended. I mentioned it to him, so Andy came back out, ordered a longer door sweep to ensure it completely touched the bottom, and installed it for me. I had a particular design in mind (thanks to Pinterest!) on how I wanted our porch to look. If I could not explain what I wanted, I would find pictures and then he could translate what kinds of materials we needed. He has great contacts for the best materials in central PA. Additionally, he managed this entire project for us. Between the permit filing process, timing the electrician, the folks that added gutters onto our new structure, the fireplace guy, delivery of the stone for our fireplace, multiple city inspections....it was so nice to not to have to worry. I think his general motto is that you can be as involved or not as involved as you would like. My husband and I enjoyed him working on our house so much that we have contracted additional work with him and he is our 'go to' contractor. If you are looking for an honest, quality guy for a peace of mind experience, Andy is your guy!
Description of Work: Demo existing, unsafe porch. Installed a larger, permitted screened-in back porch, complete with stoned, gas fireplace, tiled floors, vaulted wood ceilings, planked white walls. Large TV placed above the gas fireplace. Stunning!

Very professional, very friendly - even our dogs loved them! Andy was very punctual and great with communication. Everything from notification on arrival times, estimated times for delivery of product and finish date. He was timely with estimate and when we asked for modifications, was happy to make the changes we requested. There was an additional fee for the labor and materials but we expected this and the price was fair. We are actually looking to have Andy do an additional project for us next year and would highly recommend his business - Inch By Inch Construction!!!

My project required a knowledge in general contracting (sheetrock, painting, laying tile, electrical, pointing) as well as carpentry work (custom wood panels, custom window and door casings, custom window sills, and hardwood floor installation). Andy provided his estimate in a timely fashion and he stayed true to that price. There were some pitfalls and Andy handled the situations in a professional manner doing whatever was needed to please me. His goal throughout the project was making sure I was happy. Looking back, hindsight is 20/20 as they say. Sometimes Andy's decision could have eliminated the pitfall(s) and sometimes my decision could have prevented it. Either way the overall project was a success and I would accept future bids for hire from Inch by Inch Construction.

We could not be more please with the work. He was very efficient, gave spot on estimate, saved us on the cost of flooring by going out of his way to get a better deal, worked with changes when we wanted a dropped ceiling in 1 room rather then the dry wall, pointed out we needed dehumidifiers to prevent future water damage. We now have a man cave to be proud of , Thanks inch by inch construction

Andy did a great job. He was very flexible with me and my schedule and went beyond the repair to preventing the leak from recurring. He removed the siding and placed flashing and Tyvek as well as an underlayment to protect against future leaks in the roof where a downspout dispersed. I mentioned some issues with the siding on the fascia of the house and asked if he could come back to take care of it. He did it right then and there and did a great job. He has a good attention to detail and a breadth of knowledge.

One corner of a bedroom ceiling was soaked and damaged by a water leak. The front porch steps were weathered and deteriorated. Mr. Inch repaired the damaged ceiling and rebuilt the porch steps with composite decking. He showed up promptly and completed the work as promised. The ceiling is as good as new and the steps look great. I'm very satisfied with his work and would hire him again.

I would check on the guys from time to time to see if they needed anything or had any questions. They are always courteous and don't wait to ask questions. They are very efficient with their time, which is a big cost saver. I am very happy with the work they have performed for us and the progress that has been made on our home. We have a lot of work to get done on our home, so whenever we get money, we call these guys...they're good. If you're looking to hire someone who can do a lot of different jobs, call them. I'm certain you'll be happy with their work.
Description of Work: We have hired Inch by Inch Construction on various occasions to do many different jobs, from installing a composite deck over a garage, to framing walls and flooring, to bending and installing soffit and fascia. Just recently we hired them to install an operating casement window and an operating semi-french opening exterior door. They were very prompt, courteous, and have all the necessary tools to do any job. They are very efficient with time and materials. The installation of the semi-french doors was not an easy fix, they had to cut down our door and sidelight, make them both operating and create a door jamb. They were able to create a metal flashing trim for outside the window to keep water from penetrating the wall and coming in behind the window frame. They have the expertise to do the job right, and they are able to get the job done very quickly. I highly recommend them to anybody.
