Woody's Fireplace is a family owned Hearth Specialty retailer that was established in 1976. We have two retail locations, one in Larksville Pa. and one in Honesdale Pa., and service Northeastern Pennsylvania as well as some parts of New York. We use our own trained labor for installation of all of the stove and fireplace products we sell. We will occasionally sub-contract work on some decorative fireplace facades depending on the size of the project. We are a small business and usually employ between ten and fifteeen people. We accept cash, check, credit and debit for payment however some convenience fees may apply for credit card transactions. We currently do not have financing available. The manufacturers whose products we sell will sometimes offer sales or promotions which we will post the details of on our facebook page (facebook.com/woodysfireplace).

We design, sell and install fireplace and stove packages for residential and commercial applications. We service everything that we sell. We also offer custom fireplace doors, custom wood mantels, custom marble or granite fireplace surrounds, a variety of stove/fireplace accessories and some outdoor products. The types of stoves and fireplaces we sell/service include gas burning, wood burning, pellet burning, multi-fuel and coal burning products.
Services we don't offer
We do not sell or service any non-vented (also known as ventless) gas burning products. We also will not service a product that was not sold by us or is not in one of the product lines that we carry (we will try to properly advise you of where you can get service if we do not offer it on a particular product). We do not do masonry fireplace or chimney work (we deal with factory built fireplaces and metal chimney systems only).
We had a Jotul GI635 gas fireplace insert installed by Woody's on January 4, 2022. We could not be happier. The installation team was very professional, and when they left our house was cleaner than when the arrived. We ordered our stove on December 2, 2021, and despite being told by the company that supply issues might delay delivery until April, we got a call in late December saying that Woody's had managed to obtain our chosen product from another dealer. When we went to look at inserts we were welcomed into an incredible showroom by the owner and founder, and after giving him our fireplace measurements, he showed us a variety of products that would fit our needs. We picked one out, only to discover it was much higher than our budget, and without dropping a beat, he showed us three more options at lower prices. We found a product we love, at a price we could afford. The service we received from selection through installation was excellent.

The store where I purchased the products is impossible to reach. The people who run the store are extremely busy. Phone calls are not answered and not returned. E-mail are not replied. Calls are diverted to a store where the owner is. When I suggested to the owner they may want to consider help answering phones, she became simply rude and dismissive. I posted my review of the business on Facebook, the store called me and informed me they won't work with me unless I change or remove my review. I have paid thousands for the products I am trying to get services or installed.

Do not hire these people!!!!they are the most unprofessional and ignorant people you will ever deal with, the service people do not perform the work the saleswoman claims!they complain constantly about traveling to your home to work, they make a mess of your home.the service is horrible, they do not return your calls or emails!!! Find a reputable company and avoid these people at all cost!!!!

A more condescending attitude toward their customers is not possible. This small town, family-owned business seems a poor example of why we should always buy locally. They talked down to me. They didn't return calls. They did not do what they said they'd do when they said they do it. They did not stand behind their stove much less their own installation. They hid behind excuse after excuse. I can only imagine what it must be like to work for these two men. They play games. They hide behind a busy schedule. They do not care if you're upset if they can twist it around to make some dribble they're spewing seem legitimate. No pun intended but they are all Smoke and Mirrors after the sale. They can't even answer a simple Yes/No question without asking one of their own first. ARGH! I hate that. Do yourself a favor. Buy another brand of stove from another dealer and be happy with your decision. Go with these guys and pray you never need to speak to them again. There's a reason some people are in business for themselves...Because no real establishment would take their line of dribble. If you do buy from them and have an issue be prepared to hire an attorney because at least in my case the don't give a darn about you after the sale. JOTUL is a good product but their enamel finish appears to be suspect. Warranty was for 5 years. Mysteriously now it's down to 2 years. At 5.25 years it started failing...BADLY. And no one feels I have a right to complain. All I'd like are the parts, at cost, to fix this but we didn't even get that far. At no time did they ask what it was I wanted them to do. They just didn't seem to care. If I had it to do again I'd BUY MY STOVE ELSEWHERE!
Description of Work: I have an issue with a product they sold me and installed in my home. In trying to resolve the issue I came to learn I am not dealing with people of honor or integrity. In the end they would not even provide me with any contact information so I could go directly to the manufacturer with my story.

I was told that they will reimburse me for the stove. I have paid for the stove, installation, the vent kit, and for 3 tons of pellets. I am at a loss on what to do.
Description of Work: Bought pellet stove and had installed on Oct . Had staff member from Woody's at house on Nov. 10 to service because of problem with stove. On Nov 16 had fire from back of stove. Notified Woody's on Nov 17 about fire and they did come out that day. After that I had to keep calling to get answers and stated that the stove would be replaced but they are on back order and will not get any in until January 2015. Michael Woody was very rude to me. He stated that he called me but never once did he and that it was my fault that there was a problem with the stove.

Good place for higher end stoves. Customer service skills leave something to be desired. I got the sense that if you weren't there to purchase a high-end stove, they simply weren't interested. I needed some simple stove parts and they were not helpful and went out of their way to remind me how parts would not be returnable if they didn't work. I actually will be purchasing a good stove but will now go elsewhere. However, they do have a good selection of Alaska stoves.
