Touchstone just completed my Master Bathroom Renovation that started on August 12, 2021. Yes, you read that right…a bathroom renovation that took almost six months to complete. Although the design phase went smoothly, I knew that the renovation would have issues when workmen showed up less than 50% of the time during the first two weeks. I communicated with the office and told them that I had specifically been told when I asked before signing the contract that a crew would be onsite continuously throughout the project. Touchstone stated that my experience was not typical and things should improve. They did not. From the inability to let me know when people would be at the house to every step taking at least three attempts, if not more, to get right plagued the job from the start. I had agreed that due to supply issues that the job could be done in two phases. Per the plan the first phase, to be complete by September 22, 2021 would leave me with a totally renovated bathroom with the exception of the cabinetry which would be installed in November when it was due to arrive. I accepted this as I was trying to work with Touchstone and was aware of supply issues. On September 22nd, I had no plumbing nor lighting components completed. The shower was an ongoing issue that resulted in Touchstone’s subs flooding the bathroom and causing water damage to the kitchen tiles beneath (pics below). Just during the last two weeks has the shower been operational. The toilet was delivered with the wrong parts as was the bathtub. (Or so I was told). I found that many times I was told delays were due to problems that weren’t actually the root cause. For instance I was told that the reason the shower faucet wasn’t working correctly was because I was ‘operating it wrong’. Only to find out that it was because they had mixed up the hot and cold water lines and had to replumb it. I could go on and on but let my job serve as a warning. If you want a stress free experience, do not use Touchstone. They will blame Covid, supply issues, wrong parts, whatever to cover for their own incompetence. Additionally although I asked specifically if they used subs for the job (and was told that ‘no we have our own people’), they use exclusively subs. This means that your job is being scheduled alongwith myriad other jobs, thus accounting for the spotty onsite attendance. Also it takes quite a few swings at the bat before you get the “A” team out to fix a problem. For instance it took at least six attempts and failures with the plumbing minions before the Master Plumber came out and was able to correctly diagnose and fix the shower hot/cold water line problem. Throughout I was offered varying excuses for why it wasn’t working. Just the fact that their Angi description states 'no subs' and they exclusively use subs for work tells you how 'honest' this company is. There are much better, more competent contractors out there.

Description of Work: The renovations, which consisted of a kitchen, laundry room, and full bath, were made in a 100 year old house and yes, problems were uncovered that moved back the completion date of the project, but the finished product exceeded our expectations. The design and craftsmanship was first rate by a dependable crew of contractors. The workmen were very courteous, and worked to accommodate us throughout the entire process. |After the job was completed, there was an issue with a heat pump that provided us with an unintended water event. Touchstone immediately sent out the plumber who did the installation, and he quickly found and fixed the problem. |We have heard horror stories about renovations, but we found that Touchstone was very up-front about costs, scheduling, and issues uncovered, and giving us options on how to deal with each situation. |This is the first major renovation that we experienced in our home, and we feel that we got our money's worth. I was home during the process, and at every step, I saw that quality work was being done, and every step was explained to me. |If you are looking for a reliable company to plan and remodel/renovate a kitchen area, I hope that you consider Touchstone as your contractor.

I stopped in at Touchstone Kitchen and Bath to get some ideas for counter tops and backsplashes for our kitchen remodel. I was greeted by Linda and she was very pleasant and explained what she could to me and said her husband, Carl, could explain more about the cabinets, counter tops and backsplashes. She asked if I would like to wait for him to finish with another customer. Carl spent about 45 minutes with me and was very knowledgable. The cabinets he showed me were a very good quality and made in Lancaster, PA. I set up an appointment for my husband to talk with Carl the next day and Carl gave us a detailed quote on cabinets, counter tops, back splashes, lighting, and electrical work. Carl and Linda were so friendly, knowledgable, and easy to talk to that I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone to remodel a kitchen or bath! Oh, and their showroom is beautiful.

I would never recommend Touchstone Kitchens and Bath.
Description of Work: Remodeled old upstairs bathroom, which included: sink, toilet and shower. About 3 hours after demo started, the workman cut a water line and filled the room with water which leaked into the NEW kitchen below. Only the ceiling was damaged. The remodel took approximately 6-7 weeks. The remodel person had very little English, which made communication difficult. For instance when the project was finished I only had lukewarm water. Getting the concept of lukewarm was difficult. In October 2010 when the heat came into the radiators, I noticed a leak in the bathroom radiator on the floor. My heating contractor stated that the radiator was never really connected to the pipe, only held there with caulk. He refitted the pipes to the radiator (charged $625) and made a note on his bill, which he said I should show to the contractor. I sent the bill with the note stating that the radiator had never been re-installed properly to Touchstone and they basically told me that it was just a mistake. My concern was that if the radiator pipes were not fitted properly, what about all the other plumbing? Touchstone never sent a re-imbursement for the refitting.

touchstone uses a designer. Once they were informed of our budget, they indicated they could not do the job within that budget.

Absolutely wonderfully. I had unrealistic expectations of how much I could "jam" into the space. Debra worked with me to get the project as close to what I wanted as possible. If you are looking for cabinets, I would highly recommend taking a trip to Reading to see the Craftmaid factory.
Description of Work: Debra and Carl took the time to sit with me and walk me thru the process of designing a kitchen for my new home. They provided several design suggestions until we reached our final layout. They require a $1000 retainer in order to begin the design process, later credited to the job- which was fine since they had to do quite a bit of upfront work before I could choose them. I went with Craftmaid cabinets out of Reading PA. They are the most beautiful cabinets and worth every dollar. The design help Touchstone provided included suggestion for a chandelier over my sink and sconces on either side. They also designed a crown moulding for my ceiling- none of which they sold. These added services helped to make this project amazing. They were always patient throughout the process and always returned calls promptly. They did not promise unrealistic leadtimes and the few minor issues I had with the cabinets were handled expeditiously. I LOVE my kitchen and I would highly recommend them for any project. They are quite knowledgable and are really good people!

The project was very difficult, since the bathroom is in a dormer. The ceiling, floor and walls had to be replaced, as well as the shower stall, toilet and sink. The room was completely gutted. The space is small and very difficult to work in. There is no room for tools or people. One person, Valdimir, had to do the job alone. He had to bring everything he needed up at least one flight of steps, sometimes two from the basement. There were some glitches (broken pipes, outdated and misplaced plubming), but we're very happy with the outcome. Touchstone met all the challenges with professionalism and craftmenship. We would highly recommended them.
Description of Work: Our upstairs bathroom was installed sometime in the 70's in the dormer of our 1937 Cape Cod. We asked for a complete overhaul of the space. Other contractors were reluctant to take on the project. But Touchstone took the challenge.

They did a very well job. The primary worker they sent was a professional, and a perfectionist. The company generally cared for us customers. The kitchen is gorgeous and you can not argue with the quality of the product. There was an unexpected problem with routed beans and they did that also. It is an old house and they covered it for us with additional payment. But I would recommend them. They were very responsible. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: They did a complete renovation of our kitchen, including all of our appliances. There were movements of walls.
