Rob and his two sons recently completed a master bedroom suite addition to our home. This was a 6 month job that ultimately was far more complex than originally envisioned, but the Shuttles knocked it out of the park. This is the second large job we've used Rob for, and the quality of the workmanship did not disappoint. He worked with us throughout the entire process, from permits through completion, and we never once worried that anything would be less than perfect. At the end of the day we had a top-of-the-line master suite that is now the highlight of our house.

Rob and his guys did a great job rehabbing our old wood deck - removing old deck boards/topcaps and replacing them with new ones. They were professional, clean, and impressively fast - the entire job only took about two days. I definitely recommend and would use them again!

Rob and his 2 sons did a fantastic job in finishing a large room in our basement. They installed flooring, drywall, lighting, base board heating, new outlets and closets. The room was unfinished (studs and slab flooring) when we bought the house and Rob completely transformed the room into a family room/ work out room and added 2 big closets to accommodate extra storage needs. Rob was a pleasure to work with and we are very happy with the results. It's my husbands favorite room in the house!

He did them when he said he would, finished on time and did a great job. He understood the job from the plans and adapted whenever necessary to work with an older house not quite square etc. They were nice and easy to work with. I'll probably use them again when the projects we want to do ourselves get really old!

It went very well. Rob and his sons came out to assess the work and provide an estimate. They were very pleasant, courteous and professional. They came out to perform the work and put in a very long work day. Despite the warm temperature they kept working continuously. They did an excellent job on repairing our ceiling and performing drywall and painting at our home. We were very pleased with the quality of work, and that they are very friendly, hardwarking ,professional and courteous. And they helped us meet some tight timelines to get things done. We would likely use their services again.

All went well

Rob and his sons recently completed what was basically a full downstairs remodel on our house and we couldn't be happier. We had some water damage to our glued-down hardwood floors, all of which needed to be removed and replaced with tile. Several contractors simply wouldn't take the job given the hassle of the floor removal -- Rob was confident he could do the job right from day one. The job expanded to include a complete fireplace overhaul (including tearing out an entire wall of brick and installing floor to ceiling stacked stone, built-in cabinets and shelves, and a gas insert), removing and replacing a tile backsplash in the kitchen, painting our entire downstairs, and installing some very finicky wood-look tile. Even though the job took longer than he expected and included quite a few unexpected curveballs, Rob stayed positive and everything turned out exactly the way we pictured it. I wouldn't think twice about recommending Shuttle for any job.

The installation and the ceiling repair went very well. He worked his schedule to accommodate the tenants. We communicated mostly by email (my preference). I requested three quotes and his was the most reasonable. I liked that he had his son helping him - a real family business. I will use Robert again when I renovate my bathroom.

Rob and his son, Ryan, did a wonderful job and were a pleasure to work with and have in our home. We wanted a relatively basic finished basement - drywall, flooring, electrical but with 2 access windows. Rob listened and unlike other contractors we talked to provided a fair and reasonable estimate reflecting what we wanted. However, he was equally flexible with a couple of upgrades to flooring and soundproofing that we asked for, and made great suggestions. He got all the permits in advance, and made sure all the required inspections occurred timely and were satisfied. Our basement is now is the very nice, comfortable open space that we wanted with plenty of natural light. We plan to use Rob and Ryan again for future projects.

I am thrilled with the high quality job and the price was reasonable. They were all a pleasure to work with. Great experience! I would hire them again and again!

It went very well. This is the 2nd time that I used Shuttle Construction. Once again Rob did a fantastic Job. Very reasonably priced. The just was completed without any complications and in a reasonable amount of time. I will definitely be using Rob and his sons again next year for the next home improvement project.

Rob and his two sons did a superb job. The ceiling is in three sections separated by two wood beams. They did a really good demolition of the existing, pathetic ceiling with textured surface, making no mess and very quick. After looking at what was up there now, Rob made decisions and moved forward . . . measuring , cutting and laying sheetrock.pieces. He knew they had to prevent white dust from getting into the wood beam surfaces and handled it well using paper stock coverings. He managed electrical wiring changes required for code, and a ceiling fan mount he built from scratch. The job of spackling and covering joints, getting everything even and flat, was tedious , my wife wanted perfection and had them repeat it several times. They did exactly that, no complaints. Each work day they cleaned up and used a large vacuum unit on the whole room. I looked at the competed work again just now and in my opinion its even, flat and of the highest quality after their final finishing paint.

Never heard from him again. We moved on to other choices.

I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. The windows and brick work was so professionally done, that you cannot tell that it was not part of the original house from the time it was built. I will be having them back this spring to redo my enclosed porch,.

Rob Shuttle has done several projects for us over the years. This time we wanted to put a ceiling in the basement of our 63 year old home. The ceiling has many pipes, valves and wires and numerous nooks and crannies. The laundry room and basement powder room were always dusty and dirty. Rob and his son did an outstanding job of covering 99 percent of the ceiling in the three basement rooms. Only the HVAC was left open. It is so much brighter and cleaner; I wish I had done it years ago. Our attic insulation was old and not up to today's standards. Rob worked in the heat and removed the old insulation and replaced it with up-to-code insulation. The difference in the cooling of our upstairs bedrooms was immediate. As usual, Rob was reliable, clean and neat. He is always on time, communicates his schedule and work plan, and leaves the place looking better than when he found it. He also was kind enough to do a few small things for me that I mentioned in passing. I have wanted a small shelf in my cookie sheet cabinet and something done with a horrible looking homemade shelf (that we use all the time) located in the basement stairwell. At the end of the day, I came home and found the stairwell shelf had been given an upgrade and a terrific little shelf to hold my parchment paper and rolling pin in my cabinet. These are just a few of the little things that make working with Rob Shuttle such a pleasure. He is a perfectionist and everyone who has seen the work he has done, including other contractors, always comment on the great outcome of the projects done by Shuttle Construction.

I e-mailed Rob Shuttle of Shuttle Construction in March to inquire about whether he might be interested in installing two new toilets, a new vanity with top, and a new bathroom fan in a 100+-year-old house. We also needed some bathroom tile repair. Rob responded the same day. We arranged an inspection of the house in early April. When he came, he decided that he could do the work in early May. That worked out perfectly! He and his son picked up the toilets, new vanity and top from Home Depot and delivered them on May 6. They installed both toilets on Monday without a problem--even though one toilet was a tight fit. Rob looked at the vanity and realized that the bathroom pipes were in the wrong place for the vanity which I had ordered. He very patiently took the vanity back to Home Depot, and I chose another vanity which had no drawers. On Tuesday, Rob and his son installed the bathroom fan and the vanity and sink and faucets. They also repaired the tile over the two days. Rob made sure that there were no leaks before he left on Tuesday. They took away the old toilets, vanity, sink, faucets, fan, and all the packing materials. Not only was their workmanship excellent, but their disposition was friendly and good-natured, even when they encountered frustrations. I highly recommend Shuttle Construction, and I intend to hire them for our next project! We were all very pleased with the results!

Our builder, Rob, made this as smooth and stress free of an experience as possible. The work began in January and the plan was to set the concrete foundation for the addition, but then we discovered that part of the master bedroom was over an enclosed crawlspace which had to be torn out and filled in before the concrete pad could be set. Rob was great about sealing off the half of the bedroom we could still live in and making sure that it was insulated enough to keep us warm. Once the concrete was down and the back was framed out, we had to move out of our home for nearly 6 full weeks so that the rest of the bedrooms could be demolished and reframed. Rob made sure to keep us informed of his progress and to get us back home as quickly as possible. Also, my neighbors had nothing but great things to say about Rob and his crew and how respectful they were in regards to noise and they hauled the debris away every day. Honestly, everything turned out so much better than I could ever have imagined it. Rob and his crew did an amazing job. You can tell that he takes real pride in his craftsmanship. Rob was able to join the addition to the existing space so that there are no glaring gaps, everything just looks "finished." He really went above and beyond to make sure things turned out the way he wanted them to, for example with the bathroom, he needed to replace subflooring to ensure that the backerboard and tile would lay correctly. We were lucky to find Rob and plan to reach out to him when we remodel our kitchen in a year or two.

We had an outstanding experience with Shuttle Construction on this project. Rob Shuttle did all the work including removing the old patio and roof and disposing of the materials, digging the footers, pouring the concrete, building the decks, railings, and screened porch, and replacing windows and doors. The final product was perfect; it turned out better than we had ever imagined. We cannot seem to spend enough time on the porch. Everyday we marvel at what a fantastic job was done on the construction. It is perfect. This was a big project for us that started in the spring and due to all the bad weather ran through part of the summer. Rob and his assistant, Pat, worked around the weather and made sure to stay in touch and updated the timelines. They were a pleasure to be around, hardworking, polite and courteous, and the worksite was clean and organized at all times. We had absolutely no problems before, during, or after completion of the project. Our township has very strict building codes and Rob met all of their specifications, exceeded their expectations, and had no problems getting permits or passing inspections. Rob is the real deal, a great builder and contractor. His work is impeccable. His estimates were always on target, there were no surprises. The job came in right on budget. Rob gave us exactly what we asked for and more. He does not take shortcuts and follows-through on all his promises. He made great suggestions before we finalized the plans and came up with cost saving solutions before we began the project and during the construction. Earlier in the year we had replaced the kitchen counter tops with granite that we knew would not match the existing tile medallions in the backsplash. We thought we would have to replace the entire backsplash. Instead, Rob chipped out the medallions and replaced them with new tiles in a more neutral color. The new tiles look as though they have always been there. A beautiful job, plus there was no mess to clean up afterwards. The kitchen looked just like we left it. My husband and I would highly recommend Rob Shuttle and his company, Shuttle Construction. We plan to use him again in the near future.
