Description of Work: We had heard good things about this provider from people he had done work for. We need hardwood floors refinished, carpet removed and work done on banisters. He came to our house in the Spring of 2014, measured the area which needed to be redone and we had what appeared at the time, to be a nice chat. We never heard from him again, despite constant calls and messages left on his answering machine. Months later we read about some financial difficulties he was having. We even called Angie's List to see if he were still in business, but could get no information from you regarding his status. We are still looking for a good hardwood flooring person, but it will not be Bob Ernst. If he could not do the work, he should've told us so up front, and at the very least should have returned our phone calls to say he could not do the work we needed. At the present time, we don't know where he is or even if he is working. Doesn't sound like a reliable "A" rated Angie's List contractor to us.

+ -1 moreHe is the best and I am going to use him again soon. He is amazing, one of the best in the business. They were on time, clean, and efficient. They knew exactly what they were doing. They moved the furniture and put it back exactly where it was. I would give him an A++++.
Description of Work: I used Robert A Ernst Hardwood Floors about ten years ago. He put hardwood floors in two rooms and a hall. He also refinished stairs, a bannister, and a section of the room.

+ -1 moreThis was our second time using Bob. We cannot say enough great things about him. We have recommended him many times and all have been as pleased as we were. He is a master at wood floors. He custom made a stain for us, repaired the crappy floors the builder put in, all at a very reasonable cost. He worked to insure minimal interuption for us, super tidy clean up. Here's a man who takes pride in what he does and our floors look amazing. We put them through their paces and years later they still hold up. We will be calling on Bob to do his magic again. He'll be replacing some tired, office carpet in the winter of 2011.
Description of Work: For this project Bob worked around a changed kitchen floor to fill in the bare areas exposed by a new layout. He matched the new areas to the existing ones seemlessly. He created a flush vent/grate of wood. You wouldn't think this was so great but it's wonderful. It's flush with the floor so cleaning is so easy and the look is so custom.
