+ -1 moreThis was my third time using them for preventative maintenance of my heating and cooling system. The actual maintenance was fine and he cleaned and checked the system very thoroughly as they did each time in the past. I however was suspicious of him suggesting an expensive repair, for reasons I won't go into. I called another company for a second opinion and they informed me that they could not find a crack or problem. I called them back to tell them I didn't want the repair and why and they in turn wanted to come out and prove they were right. So the person in charge came back out but wasn't exactly pleasant and didn't offer me any proof one way or another. He was going to come back with the original technician but never did. So I would use caution. They also sold me a plastic sit on the ground flood alarm for 59.00 which he said was really 69.00 but he would give me a price reduction. It actually sells retail for 17-20 dollars so the mark up is extreme. I called promptly for a refund or to see if the price was correct with no response. I called 2 times to ask, both times I was treated not so nice and never received a response to my questions. I would expect some mark up but seems very steep.
Description of Work: They did preventative maintenance on my furnace and sold me a very overpriced flood alarm for my hot water heater.

Very professional, and thorough. I would definitely use them again, and special accommodation to Jason for his great work and attitude!

+ 0 moreTub still leaks and technician advised to purchase new spigot set. The spigot set was only 4 years old, of exceptional high quality and very, very pricey. I subsequently called another plumber (receiving very high marks on Angie's List) who, over the telephone, advised me to call the spigot manufacturer for free repair parts. I do this,received the parts very quickly and the new plumber installed at a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: Inspected for leak in tub and issue with sink hot water handle.

Description of Work: To repair the broken sewer lateral between the front porch and the front sidewalk. Price included:4 inch cast iron pipe; two 4 inch cast iron to cast iron ARC Couplings; labor and equipment. Since the work was completed in my garden area, removal of our concrete sidewalk was not necessay. This would have been an additional cost.

+ -1 moreThe service rep was extremely nice and very professional and even extended a 10% discount for the work he did. I was very satisfied with their work, especially since I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg.
Description of Work: I had a major leak coming from my upstairs bathroom to the downstairs bathroom. They discovered the leak immediately and replaced parts to my bathtub faucet, including a gasket, and did some re-caulking work. Did it in under an hour.

I was then billed for the service call plus an additional $125.00 charge for his 15-minute "professional recommendation," which I neither requested nor agreed to pay for. I complained to the company and they promptly refunded this phoney fee without an explanation or apology. Based on this unscrupulous practice and their failure to acknowledge it to me, I would not use them again.

+ 0 moreOverall, the service was great! They came out the same day for the AC and the next day for the plumbing. Everybody at the company is very proffessional and a pleasure to work with. I have been using this company for 3 years now and they are top notch. I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I had two persons come out to the house. The first was the plumber that checked my hot water heater and replaced both thermostats in the unit. They were faulty and causing the hot water tank to get scorching hot. The other tech that came out later on at the house was for my A/C unit. It would turn on but no cold air would come out of the vents. They filled my air handler outside with some refrigerant and noticed I had a small leak in the outside hose. Both items were fixed without peoblems.

+ -1 moreAfter having used KE Seiffert for emergency service twice in the past 15 years I would not consider using them again.
Description of Work: Our washing machine broke so I turned off the water at the box near the washing machine. Three days later the machine was fixed and I turned the water back on to use the machine and water was spraying from the shut off valve. KE Seiffert had provided emergency service for us previously so I called them to repair the leak. It was a Friday afternoon, I was concerned about the valve not holding and I had to go out of town for work the following Monday so I mentioned that they had been able to do emergency service for me previously. They agreed to do the emergency work, and informed me that there would be over time charges. I told them that I was okay with over time charges. They confirmed the best number to reach me, and hung up the phone without giving me the opportunity to ask questions, or even say good bye. I searched Angie's List found another plumber that had an A rating, was happy to come on the weekend without a weekend charge and even told me how to stop the leak and what was causing it so that I could use the washing machine.

+ -1 moreIt was a real nightmare dealing with them and it was a bad situation. Their service and diagnosis were horrible. They broke the pipe in the basement which made us dig up our front yard to shut off the water. Then they misdiagnosed the pipes in the yard as needing to be replaced, causing us to hire another plumber to tear up the streets which in the end was never necessary.
Description of Work: We used KE Seifert because our renters said there was a leak in the upstairs bathtub. He came out and didn't see anything in the back of the tub but he saw the water damage in the ceiling. He went to the basement to turn the main water off. This is an old house and has old pipes. I guess he was in a hurry and used excessive force to try to turn the valve. He ended up breaking the pipe below the shutoff where it went into the ground. It flooded the whole basement. The only way to turn off the water was to dig up the front yard to shut it off. They dug up the front yard and they said that we needed to replace the pipe in the front yard and they didn't even want to touch it because it was in such bad shape. They said that we needed to replace the entire pipe from the stop to the end of the house and they would call Florence township so they could replace the section from the stop to the main which is under the street. Later we discovered that the township makes homeowners responsible for the water pipe section that is under the street . At this point we were getting upset with Seifert and were not sure that we could trust their advice. The job sat for weeks while we fought with the township about the law they had established. We hired different plumber to dig up the street. After doing so the plumber found that the pipes were fairly new and had NOT needed replacing. The pipes in the front yard were also fine. My husband spoke to the owner at Seifert plumbing who told him we would get some of our money back. They never did refund us and my husband got tired of trying to get in touch with them

He fixed the leak, that I knew was there, and has since lowered my water bill from close to $1000 to $300. He essentially paid for himself in one month, just by our water bill. I was very satisfied and would recommend him in the future. I'd give him straight A's across the board.

+ -1 moreI originally called on a Saturday for someone to come out that day. The operator indicated that someone would call me back ASAP to schedule a plumber to come to my house. I didn't receive a call until Monday. However, the leak slowed so I didn't need someone on the weekend. When I did get a call back, they sent someone the next day. This was more responsive than 3 other plumbers I called in the area. Overall, everything worked out well.
Description of Work: They diagnosed a plumbing leak that had water coming through the ceiling in my garage and fixed the problem.

+ -1 moreI HAD A LEAKY FAUCET ON MY WHIRLPOOL BATH TUB. THEY CAME IMMEDIATELY WHEN CALLED. THE SERVICEMAN FELT BAD BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH A SIMPLE JOB SO HE INSPECTED ALL MY FAUCETS AND REPLACED THE WASHERS IN MOST OF THEM AS A PREVENTATIVE MEASURE. I WAS IMPRESSED THAT HE OFFERED TO DO THAT SO I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY THE MINIMUM SERVICE CHARGE. HE WAS ALSO VERY POLITE AND CAREFUL WITH MY HOUSE. I ALSO USED SEIFERT LAST YEAR TO INSTALL A GAS LINE FOR MY OUT DOOR GRILL AND WAS IMPRESSED BY THEIR PROMPTNESS, PUNCTUALITY AND LEVEL OF SERVICE. I WOULD TRUST THEM WITH ANY PROBLEM.
