BIG OAK TREE SERVICE

Great job and excellent price for removal of some very large pine trees. Crew arrived on time and worked hard. Will absolutely use Big Oak again. Professional service and reasonable.

He answered right away, but the conversation was really bizarre and unprofessional. Once he learned where I live (about 15-20 minutes from Langhorne), he said it probably wasn't worth his while to come out here. I questioned him - saying you're in Langhorne, right? That's only about 15 minutes from me. Then he said to get a few estimates and call him back and he would basically decide at that point if it was worth him to drive over to give me an estimate. Then he went on to say that he normally makes $1k for a half day's work, and $2k for a full day job. I completely understand and respect a company's right to choose the area they work in, but a professional response would have been "I'm sorry, we don't service your area", not a conversation about how much they normally make and how it's not really worth his while to drive to my town. I found that part particularly bizarre since I wanted to have trees removed, not just branches trimmed or something small - I would have assumed that the cost of removing several trees would have been "worth his while" to drive 15 minutes per his dollar requirements.

The service was very good. The price a fine. They did a good job cleaning up afterwards, too.

They were prompt and courteous. I didn't use them because their price was a little high.

Excellent

It was excellent. They are honest and hardworking. The owner is a very nice guy, he's out there working with his men. He came back and split all the wood for free from a tree that was cut down, he didn't have to do that and I didn't ask him to do that. He had a new wood chipper and he just came by and split the log for me. He's awesome, he's very nice and works really hard. They were very responsive, polite and not in your face. He didn't push making me do more than I was ready to do.

We are repeat customers with Big Oak Tree Service. On our last service, we had a number of small and large trees taken down in one day. Some of these trees were hanging over the neighbor's property, and they were very careful with that. They also ground some of the stumps for us, and we kept a lot of the wood for firewood. Their prices are much better than the big companies, and their service is more personal. It may take Jeff a little while to return your phone calls, but you will be dealing directly with him so everything is very straightforward. They do a great job on thick trees as well as tall trees and clean up when they are done. If you decide to keep your wood, it will be neatly stacked for you. All of the brush will be chipped up and taken away.
