Description of Work: They have worked on our 150 year old house. It was great. They are always available and very trustworthy. The price was reasonable.

Description of Work: On Thursday evening our septic alarm in the basement was triggered and I checked our lower catch tank, the one that holds the fluid pumped into the leach field. Sure enough, it was filled to the point the alarm float was above level. It was after 5:00PM and I called Advanced Septic Services expecting to get an answering machine but to my surprise and relief, the owner answered. I explained the problem and also added that we were having company that weekend, four more people in the house for three days for a total of eight people. Of course this meant there would be quite a bit more toilet flushing and showers The owner explained that he would be out of town Friday morning until Monday but he would send one of his employees over first thing in the morning to pump all three of our tanks. He said this would get us through the weekend until he could come out Monday morning to see what's going on with the pump. He recommended we not do any laundry until the system is repaired since this puts a lot more water into the septic system. I returned home Friday morning around 8:30AM and all three tanks had been cleaned already, the two main tanks and the catch tank. On Monday morning the owner and his father arrived as expected and began diagnosing the problem. Since the pump had been in place for approximately 14 years I thought it would need to be replaced, at considerable expense. However, it was determined that the pump was in good working order and only the trigger float had failed, the one that activates the pump. Any other service provider probably would have recommended I replace the pump because of its age but I was told this would be an unnecessary expense, only the float needed replacement. While they were making the repair they also added a junction box for the wiring, the original builder did a sloppy job of installation and because of this some of the wiring was corroded. These guys added a sealed junction box to protect the wiring and it looked far more professional than the simple cable hanger the builder used with exposed wiring splices.

Description of Work: Septic line repair and system evaluation. We had washing machine water leaking into our basement caused by a break in the septic line just outside the exterior basement wall. The leaking water was coming from a break in the electrical conduit for the septic well pump and the break in the septic drain line was allowing water to leak into the soil around the conduit and into the basement. The existing drain line was excavated and two breaks were found, one just outside the basement wall and another a few feet before the septic tank. Both were caused by ground settlement. After excavation a new line was run to the tank from the break near the house. During excavation for the second riser it was discovered we had a second 500 gallon septic tank the home builder never told us about and the access to that tank was excavated and a new riser added for future servicing. The second 500 gallon septic tank and the septic pump well were also cleaned. Two above-ground cleanouts that weren't needed were removed, improving the landscaping. An evaluation of the entire septic system was performed, the septic well pump was checked and also the lines to the sand-mound.
