Josh was awesome. Rescheduled due to the ice storm, but was incredibly punctual and on top of getting the job done. Also very honest in that he repaired items which another electrician said "had to be replaced at much higher cost," but were simple fixes. The other guy (who I won't name) was not very interested in doing the work and just wanted to jack up the price. Josh did the jobs on time and at a fair price. Honest and professional... not much more to say. Would recommend him to anyone and will use him again.

I had used Josh several years to install my outside light fixtures, change the basement light fixtures, replace and install some new outlets in the basement. So, I called him again when I needed some more work done. I had some trouble with an outdoor fixture, when I tried to install a new bulb, still couldn't get it to work so I thought wiring might be loose. Josh checked it out and got it working, no issues problem quickly resolved. I have an unfinished basement. I needed an additional outlet installed. He asked what it was for, etc. to determine whether to put on a separate circuit or not, took care of it quickly and neatly.

We called several people for estimates to install an outlet so we can mount the TV over the fireplace as well as estimate installing 6 recessed lights with dimmers. Joshua came out within 1 day (and within the time frame he gave us) to acccess and estimate the job. He was very honest on when we could get the work done due to his other commitments and scheduled jobs. Josh even offered suggestions on how to make the TV component work inside the cabinets. He is very informative and you can tell takes pride in his work and reputation. When we found out the TV and cabinet installers were coming within a week (all on the same day might I add), we called Josh back the next day, and asked if he could squeeze us in just to put in the outlet and he said he could. We were so pleased with his customer service. He knew it made sense to do it before the built in cabinets were installed. Even though we have to put off the recessed lighting until next year (budget constraints), Josh was willing to come out early in the morning to get the outlet in before the other installers showed up. All this occurred during the unforecasted snow that hit Delaware over the weekend and into early parts of the week. I didnt think it would be possible to get all this coordinated but thanks to Josh we were able get everything installed and working. I am looking forward to working with Josh in the new year to installed our recessed lighting.

Josh and his crew arrived on time both times they came. All work was completed the first time. They were professional, polite, and they cleaned up well. We will use home and garden again and would recommend them for any electrical work.

Josh (the owner of Home and Garden Electric) mounted a TV in our home gym. We have an older home so there was not enough room between the wall and the concrete foundation for an outlet. No worries there, Josh came up with a great remedy and the job looks great! We are already planning our next project for Home and Garden Electric.

Josh showed up with a helper on the day and at the time promised. He brought with him the necessary supplies and installed a neat and professional service. He previously worked to upgrade my outdoor lighting system and did an excellent job with that assignmnent.

He came out the same day I called and he didn't talk down to me or at me and he confirmed my fear that I had been "taken" by another unscrupulous electrician. That company, I will never call again. Josh will get my business!

He showed up on time on the day he said he would to scope the job. He was told to proceed with the work. He ordered needed parts and called to schedule an installation date. He arrived almost exactly on time on the day of the installation. His work was very neat. Everything worked when he was done and has continued to perform properly since then. He is a very personable person to work with. I can recommend him highly.

I purchased the two hours of electrical work and Josh called me and came out promptly to give me a full estimate on all the work I wanted done. We went through the house item by item and he made suggestions as to other work that I may want to consider (i.e. washing machine that could be on it's own circuit, etc.). I requested a breakdown of pricing on all work that I wanted as I was not sure how much I had to budget for. I planned on choosing the items of most importance to be done at first and then maybe have the rest done later. The quote came quickly and was detailed in his description of what he would be doing and each item was priced. Since it was so reasonable, I decided to have all of the work done. Josh and his worker came out on time and were very professional and courteous. When all of the work could not be done in one day, they scheduled to come back at my convenience another day. I have had a lot of cotractors in my home and many times have had to clean up their mess. Josh left everything in a cleaner than they found it state. I am extremely happy with all the work they did and the whole experience of Josh and his company. They explained things they found when going through the house and he gave me additional quotes that I requested. I plan to have them do the additional work in the near future and would highly reccommend them!

This was not the first time we have used them. We like working with Josh and the work has turned out good. We are conscious of price and quality, so we have continued to hire them for additional work.

The work did not turn out well. They gave us a bid and he kept adding on little items after giving us the price of the entire job. For example, when he switched the location where he would install the plug for the microwave oven, he raised the cost. He advertised on his website for a 10% discount. When he didn’t offer it and I inquired about it, he changed the conditions of the coupon and did not honor the discount. He left some of the things undone. The adjustment on the electrical outlets was left incorrect where it was not flushed with the drywall. He would show up and only spend ten minutes on the job before leaving to work on another job.

It's great to actually be dealing directly with the owner of any small business, especially home contractors like plumbing and electric. Josh was very prompt in returning my original call to discuss the work I wanted done and we settled on a date and time for him to come by. He and his helper arrived on time and got right to work. After everything was accomplished, Josh took his time to discuss different options that were available to upgrade our kitchen lighting so we could work in less shadows. I have been saving up several electrical and lighting chores for a while looking to find a reliable electrical contractor. Home and Garden Electric definitely fits the bill. I'm sure I'll be giving Josh a call the next time I need electrical work performed.

Great! Josh arrived when he said he would be there. He replaced our outside meter box and cable. He gave a very accurate estimate of how long it should take and what we should expect. When he had to enter our house he put on shoe covers so he did not track any dirt into our house. When he was complete it looked great.

Overall, Josh, was very professional and courteous. The installations that he made were done completely to my satisfaction. I would definitely recommend his company.

I spotted this as one of Angie's Big Deals. Since I had these small jobs to be done, I jumped right on it. Josh and his helper arrived promptly and got right to work. They were professional and efficient. We discussed some future projects, and I will certainly have them back to take care of those.

Josh (owner) answered the phone when I called Home and Garden Electric. He said he could take a look at the work to be done within a few days. I was pleasantly surprised when he called early the next morning saying he was able to stop by within ten minutes. Josh arrived shortly and did some troubleshooting for the switch. He determined that the rheostat had failed. The second repair was not needed because Josh pointed out that we should be using a different type bulb in a fixture with a light sensor. We have hired Home and Garden Electric in the past and were pleased with a new circuit installed in the house and a timer for outdoor lighting. Josh is good at evaluating what needs to be done, explaining the situation and completing the work. He cleaned up when he was done. One other thing--he accidentally broke a bulb in a fixture. He brought us a pack of eight replacement bulbs at no charge. We're happy customers.

The whole process went well. When Josh was going to be late for his appointment with me, he called to say he was delayed.

He were very punctual. He did the work in about thirty minutes. He cleaned up the mess when he was done. He was just very polite and pleasant. I would recommend them and use them again in the future.

I contact Josh by phone. Tell him the issue. He comes out checks it out. Offers an estimate. Schedules the work. He finishes on time and on budget.
