I can't rate them they were not able to perform service as they are doing a job out of town. However, the deal said they would call me by 11/21 which they did not and when I called them, they told me they would not be able to do the local job as they were out of town. Sounds like maybe poor communication between company and Angie's list. Angie's list did say they would refund my money, so no harm done.

They were fine...they seemed very knowledgeable. I thought their price was a little high though, so we went with someone else. One of the guys kind of knows it all...the other tones it down a bit. I would consider using them again if I had more money.
Description of Work: I had Red Rose give me an estimate for a bathroom remodel.

When I say that my "new" home was dark and old looking, I mean that when you walked into the house there was ugly wall to wall wood paneling everywhere, as well as tacky looking acoustic board on all of the ceilings and what ended up being five layers of carpet on the floor in every room of the house. They tore out all of the wood paneling and ceilings and replaced everything with brand new dry wall, as well as removed the old carpets to reveal nice hardwood floors underneath. I was considering having them refinish the floors too, but they said that the wood was in such good shape that a little polishing would go a long way and that refinishing them just wasn?t necessary, I really appreciated the honesty as it probably saved me an extra $2000.. They removed a wall that separated the kitchen and living room which really opened up the space in those rooms and made the area brighter and seem a lot larger than it actually was. There was also a window on one of the walls in the living room which once faced outside, but there was a garage built onto the side of the house at some point in the past so now there was just a random looking window peering out into a dark bare room. They were able to remove this and fill in the opening so that you would never have guessed there was a window there previously if you hadn?t seen it firsthand. They replaced the cabinets in the kitchen and installed new appliances, refinished the bathroom, putting in a new shower body and a new vanity as well as installed a new water efficient toilet, and laid down new tile work on both the kitchen and bathroom floors. After all the drywall was put in and sealed up they painted the walls and ceilings, as well as installed beautiful crown molding along the base of the walls in all of the rooms. In addition to the molding they also placed pillar accents on each side of the newly widened entranceway from the living room into the kitchen. These were a nice touch that was inexpensive but gave the room a more upscale look when you first walk through the front door, I?m happy they gave me the option of using them. Once all of the cosmetic work on the house was done I still had to deal with some of the mechanical issues which I suppose come along with a 50 year old house that had only a single owner before me. The plumbing was a disaster, if you turned on the water in the kitchen sink, or the bathroom sink, or in the bathtub it immediately began backing up. They were able to clear out all the lines so the water flowed freely, and they also replaced some pipe in the basement which turned out to be rotted. The electrical wiring of the house was not very practical either, alot of the power outlets were hard wired to the light switches so that they would only work if you had the overhead lights switched on which was very annoying. They rewired these so that the outlets worked independent of whether the lights were switched on or not. They also cut out spaces for and installed additional outlets in the kitchen and living room which made it much more convenient for my family as there was only one or two in each of the rooms prior to them adding more. They also reconfigured the breaker box so that the outlets for each room were on their own breaker switch. Prior to this there were some outlets in the kitchen that were on the same breaker as some of the outlets in the living room, and then other outlets in the living room were on the same breaker as some of the outside outlets and so on, and it just didn?t make sense. I?m glad that they were able to sort them out the way they did. Overall they did excellent work transforming my old hideous looking house into a warm, modern looking abode and I was extremely pleased with the end result. They were very approachable when I had questions and I loved that they gave me options about how the remodeling was carried out. It was very convenient that they also handled the plumbing and electrical work too so that I didn?t need to get multiple companies involved in order to get all of the work done. I also appreciated that they didn?t try to push me in one direction on how to do certain updates based on how much it would cost. I felt they cared more about making sure I was happy with the work they did than on how much they were making off that work, and that is a fine way of doing business in my opinion. I am planning to renovate my basement, hopefully in the near future and based off my first experience with Red Rose Construction, I will definitely be calling them again..
Description of Work: I became a homeowner for the first time in 2009. The previous owner had recently passed away and her family elected to sell the home instead of keeping it. As a result I got it at an estate auction for less than market value, but the house what built in 1960, and this was painfully obvious when you walked inside. It was badly in need of remodeling to bring the look of the place into current times instead of the 60’s… I ended up settling on Red Rose based on their price estimate and the recommendation of a friend. They performed a myriad of updates and improvements: - Tore down old paneling and ceiling tile - Knocked out unwanted walls/windows - Put up new drywall and painted walls and ceilings - Installed new molding, and pillar accents - Installed new kitchen cabinets & appliances - Installed new shower body, vanity, and toilet in bathroom - Laid new tile in bathroom and kitchen - Installed new lighting in the kitchen and hallway, as well as ceiling fans in both bedrooms - Cleared blocked drains/pipes and replaced bad pipe - Corrected impractial wiring of power outlets - Installed additional power outlets - Reconfigured breaker setup

My experience with Red Rose Construction was incredible!! They were patient and explained the whole plan up front. When I shared tasks I wanted to be accomplished they spoke to me about all options to complete the task and gave recommendations based on what would be best for my home and not just the most expensive option. As this was a flooding experience it was a crazy time and some jobs that normally they would not have to complete (opening up ceilings, trudging through a mud filled basement, fishing wire through very OLD walls with blow in insulation, and a very stressed homeowner), yet they did so with competence and professionalism. In addition to the top quality expected services they provided these gentlemen went above and beyond. They explained everything that was done and sought approval prior to changes that could potentially impact cost, home efficiency, or the other contractors. Thankfully, they were always available when I called with questions or concerns and handled every aspect of the job with efficiency and attention to detail. I was impressed by their work ethic and dedication to a job well done. These gentlemen will put in whatever hours necessary to complete jobs on a deadline. Their 30 years of experience is apparent! I was particularly impressed that they took the time to teach me some basic home wiring so that I would be able to take care of some changes of fixtures, etc. on my own. I found this to be truly remarkable and greatly appreciated the offer and am glad I took them up on it as I have installed a new light fixture on my own...and it works!! In summation, without hesitation I would recommend Red Rose Construction to friends, family, and strangers. They are highly professional, honest and hard working. Regardless of the size of the job you can count on Eddie and Phil to treat your home/business as their top priority and supply the highest quality of services.
Description of Work: My 100 year old house was devastated in the September 7/8 flooding. The basement was completely submerged and the 1st floor had 2-2 1/2 feet of water. The downstairs was gutted to the beams and studs. In the reconstruction process the entire house had to be rewired to bring it to code and pass inspection. They also installed new appliances, indoor and outdoor lighting, replaced all breakers and the board, re-installed the radiators, and many other odd jobs that needed to be completed to make the house able to be occupied again.
