Mister Sparky Electric

We sent a message through Angie's List on Sunday night and got a message back by 7:00 AM on Monday morning. They scheduled me for that same day. There was a service charge just for them to come out, but they let me use a coupon, which saved a lot. They gave me a window of time, called when the technician was on his way and he was prompt. He was extremely professional, cleaned up after the job and we were VERY pleased. We will definitely use Mister Sparky in the future.

It was fine. He was a very pleasant young man. He was very courteous and especially careful not to bring in any outside dirt. He also explained their ongoing maintenance package very well, and I ended up purchasing that.

Initially, call was made to Mister Sparky based on good reviews. I needed to have a professional check electric system as it was old and may have been unsafe. Appointment was made and Dustin arrived on time. He was great! Very professional and thorough. He quoted a price to do what needed to be done and although I didn't want to spend that much, the system was unsafe and had potential to start a fire. The work was done a few days later by Dustin and Ryan. Both were very considerate and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Mister Sparky Electric to friends and family. I had purchased 2 track lights and I had already had the electric and wiring installed, the only thing they needed to do was connect the wires and hang the light. I was quoted at $256 PER LIGHT! It was going to cost over $500 for just hanging and connecting them. I was a little disappointed so the technician called someone and said they would do it for $150/light. Which I still thought was excessive considering everything was already hooked up. I had purchased the coupon for $49 for $249 worth of service and I ended up having to pay an additional $114. So $363 was more than I anticipated. It was only $164 out of pocket so I just went with it. The work was done well and the technician was very nice. I would consider using again, but I would want price in advance.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It turned out pretty well. They did a nice job. We were pleased and satisfied with it. We haven't had any problems.

The electrician was very courteous and helpful. There was a problem with one of the fixtures which provided for a complicated installation. The electrician returned another day at no charge ti finish the job. Would definitely use again.

Arrived before scheduled time, 2-3 phone calls with office, charged for one service quoted which became unnecessary, no itemized bill, $700 plus charge net of discount for 2 hours work and 1/2 hour wasted time

He came out and did an electrical inspection as promised. When he left, my kitchen lighting wasn't working. I called them and they came back out right away. When he came back he told me what the problem was. He didn't fix it at that time, but he made it safe so that I wouldn't have to worry. I was charged the service fee for when he came back out, I asked why since he just came out to do an inspection and he didn't catch it. He told me that it wasn't anything that he did. I feel like when he did the inspection, he should have saw the problem. He gave me a price to fix it, the next day they called me and told me that they would credit their service fee if they were to come back and fix it. Their prices were very high. It went alright, but they seem more interested in selling. He was a very nice technician, very respectful, put on the shoe covers, and explained what needed to be done. I am not disagreeing with anything that he told me needed to be done, I just don't think I should have been charged a service fee when he was only gone for maybe 45 minutes before coming back, which was $73.

Ceiling fan went good but bathroom vent not so well. Although access in my attic is not easy, they ended up cutting a very large hole in my ceiling. Looks stupid. Now I got to get that fixed.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was very good.

They where very punctual and professional, Ryan and Dustan came to the house. They did a great job, every time they went outside and came back in they put on their protective plastic covers over their shoes. Which I appreciated very much. They checked everything I asked, but even with the discount I thought the price was very high. It came to over $500.00 which included the service contract. And a $249.00 discount. And they where at the house for about 2 1/2 hours.

The additional charge was fine because they came out the same day we bought the deal.

I have unusually high electric bills for my small, oil heated, gas cooking house, so when I saw the offer for a whole house electrical checkup, I was interested. "Mr. Sparky" was very responsive to my initial communication. He was accommodating to my schedule and showed up exactly the time agreed upon. The technician's name was Ryan. His behavior was completely professional. Upon entering the house he immediately put on his over shoe protectors. He checked the panel for any code violations and faulty wiring. He checked for all necessary ground fault outlets. He checked for working smoke detectors and replaced a battery in one of them. After about 45 minutes he gave me his evaluation. At that time he also presented his company's annual protection plan and it's features, very matter of fact, no high pressure tactics. I asked him about the high electric usage, and he attributed it to the number of plugged in appliances which even though turned off were passively using current. He showed me how to check for specific culprits by unplugging various ones and then checking the electric meter. As this is a two person operation, I haven't yet done it. It didn't seem that he did all that much for the price, but since he made what amounted to an hour service call I would say that the cost was reasonable. Based on this experience I would consider using Mr. Sparky (Ryan) for future electrical work, and would recommend him to others.

They started when they said they would and kept us informed every step of the way. Highly recommend them.

Consequently I did not go ahead with anything other than getting a light bulb changed.

I have new equipment. I have 2 switches that arent working. When the guy came and he checked all the outlets. Then he told me the switch would cost $160 to fix the problem. They are asking so much money and I am a retiree. They don't want to listen. They are just looking for something to make money off of. They said they would talk to their boss and gave me a number, They never called back.

I did not end up using them, because the estimate was too high.

It went very well with Mister Sparky Electric. I have not used them before but I have used their sister companies. I have recessed lighting in my family room and I had purchased some lights and I have asked them if they can put them up instead. They were not able to do the job because it required them to tear the ceiling out and that would have been an additional cost. There was something like a curd that they couldn't do that so I was a little disappointed with that. There were two men that came and they were here for two hours of service. They were here for a little over an hour but because there were two of them that was considered the two hours. They did everything that I needed done. They were professional, courteous and I was pleased. Everything is still fine. I will absolutely use them again.

Great job. Prompt and efficient

He was excellent! Scott came out first to evaluate everything I wanted done and then sent out a crew member to execute the work. The technicians were so kind and went out of his way to answer all my questions before he left. They did not make me feel rushed and they really took their time. I have had them back to do additional work a couple of times now. Scheduling is excellent and they are just exceptional to work with.

He was great and very nice. He knowledgable and very helpful.

Cost is high and I would use them again reluctantly.

The technician was professional, prompt and qualified. I would use Sparky's again. My concern falls with Angie's List. They did not disclose the $73 travel fee anywhere on the site or coupon. When the technician asked me if I knew about the fee, I said no, but he was here and I was not going to send him away. When I contacted Angie's List, they tried to say it was disclosed and sent me a copy of a coupon, however, that was for another Sparky's promotion, not for the one I paid for. Angie's List offered no apology or help, just told me to post a review. I will contact the company prior to purchasing anything on Angie's List to make sure I am aware of any "hidden fees". So I did not save much of anything, but the service was good, so I would use Sparky's again.

The experience with them was alright. The price was a lot more than the coupon. They did a professional service and the guy was very good.
