Description of Work: The technician came on time and knew what he was doing. It seemed kind of expensive but since I have not had an electrician for many years I have no basis for comparison. There were more complicated jobs that would have taken too long that day so I told him I would expect a proposal to do the work - and I have NOT received the proposal yet.

Description of Work: their representative had no idea about the offer from mr sparky,didnt do everything that was quoted in the offer, didn't know it was already paid for tried to charge me again.told me we needed a whole house surge protecter for over $900.00,then when he was done said our outside electrical box needed fixed right away,when did we want them to come and fix it,my husband and I were looking at each other taking this all in then he asked if money was the issue.we were not pleased with the whole experience and have had a second opinion and was told it did need fixed ,quoted a much cheaper price,and it wasn't urgent to get it done the next day.

Thank you for providing your feedback on our service. I am sorry to hear that you found it to be less than satisfactory and would like to address some of your concerns. First, let me apologize for any miscommunication from our technician regarding the Angie’s List deal. We do try to provide pertinent information to our people in the field but sometimes we could do a better job. Our electrician confirmed that the deal was indeed paid for and we were able to move on with the appointment. I am sorry for any inconvenience. I am also sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the whole-home inspection. Was there something specific to the deal that the electrician did not perform? We carry out electrical inspections on a regular basis and if there was something that we missed we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you. Thank you for addressing the surge protector. As part of the electrical inspection, one of the processes is to evaluate surge protection in the home. Electrical surge is a valid problem not only from a lightning standpoint but also from a utility perspective. Surges can come through the service line at any time and so we often recommend panel surge protection to guard your whole home as opposed to just the localized surge strips. While surge is a valid concern, the main problem that the electrician found during the inspection was the service base. The 200 amp right hand meter base had pulled away from the home and needed to be replaced. The conduit had settled and exposed the wiring of the main 200 amp service to the elements. This is something of great concern which is why he expressed the urgency. The electrician quoted a price to completely replace the meter base and conduit with all permits and inspections included. We often offer financing to our customers as a courtesy to let them know that there are ways to handle payment other than in one lump sum. I am sorry that you were displeased with the entire appointment. We do try to provide a premier customer experience and it would appear that we fell short of your expectations in this case. I thank you for allowing us to come to your home and hope that we can provide you with a better experience if we ever meet again.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company for: $99 for $299 of Electrical Dollars with Mister Sparky. However, we were interested in putting an additional electric outlet in our kitchen. Our home is log so there were some challenges, but the young guy that they sent was not able to provide a solution for us. He probably had a good electrical background, but did not have the seasoned expertise to provide the creative solution needed. We ended up having the Angie's List electrician replace an existing outdoor electric outlet.

Description of Work: They went over all the electrical in the house, made some recommendation with the old electrical panel. Certainly knew what he was doing. My only issue and this is very minor is that Mister Sparky is in Lancaster and I live in Enola. I wish I lived closer. The technician was professional, courteous, friendly, definitely an asset to his company.

Description of Work: Arrived on time but spent the initial 20 minutes or more giingv a sales presentation trying to talk me into buying service plans. Finally checked the electrical system and diagnosed a problem, charged me additional amount over the groupon and gave me an estimate for elaborate repair and thousands of dollars.

The on-time guarantee is as much a part of our business as the other procedures we follow such as straightforward pricing, clean and drug-tested electricians, and even protection plans. The protection plans we offer provide a means of financial savings both for the appointment today as well as any emergency work you may need in the future. We often do address this option upfront as it provides you with the knowledge of the savings that you can benefit from as a member. I am sorry if you were offended by this process. Regarding your concerns with the diagnosis and work required. The particular situation of your home required some professional diagnosis. It is our policy to present the price of any work or diagnosis upfront for your approval BEFORE it is done. If this was not your experience, please let us know immediately and we will address this issue. The reason that we present the straightfoward price before doing any work is in effort to setup clear lines of communication between the electrician and you as this customer. We don't want you to be surprised by any hidden fees or unknowns at the end of the call so we get everything out in the open at the beginning for your approval. This particular electrical job did require some extensive diagnosis due to the problem being located beneath an outdoor patio. It was because of this location and the work involved to fix it, that the price was given for the repair. There is a lot involved in the fixing of underground electrical work and we would be happy to explain any of the details involved in the repair. Again, I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your experience, but I hope I have aided by addressing these concerns. Description of Work: Wanted an estimate on installing ceiling fan. They were supposed to come between 10 am and 1 pm and were to call before arriving. Did not arrive until about 1:30 with no phone call. He was friendly. Gave very rough sketch of what would be done.

While it is difficult to know the exact circumstances of the call from that long ago, according to our records it does appear that we were approximately 8 minutes late after the 1pm time frame. For this, I sincerely apologize. We highly value the time of our customers, and I am very sorry that we appear to have not made our time frame. Additionally, I further apologize if we did not provide a phone call prior to arrival. This is a typical courtesy that we provide to our customers to better help them plan their day. I spoke with him directly regarding the work estimated and reviewed his notes. He detailed out the work that would be done with pricing and explanation, which was provided to you. Description of Work: We had an outlet we wanted checked for safety. The service man checked it and assured us it was safe. Also had a light to install but there were missing parts so he couldn't install it at the time of his visit. He was a very polite, friendly and helpful fellow and if we should ever need anymore electrical work done, we will certainly call Mr. Sparky!

Description of Work: The representative was punctual and through. It just seemed to me that the cost was high. However, I did contact them by email after the appointment and ask for a written description and estimate which had been offered and never received a response. I realized that with the cost of the visit, and the amount I had purchased, I might still want to spend my balance plus a little extra to get some of the work done.

Description of Work: I believe he did a reasonable job of inspecting the electrical system but he was on his phone talking to friends through much of the time. He then told me that the entire electrical system needed to be upgraded. I am not sure whether this is true or not but I was floored when he told me that it would cost several thousand dollars. My home is about 25 years old and I am surprised that it might need "major surgery" at this point.
