Everything is fine with Keystone until they get your money. We have had several small issues and finally I just can't not complain about them. In my last issue, they took a month to come out and see the problem. The rep who came out agreed with my issue and told me he wouldn't be happy with it either. His boss won't do anything about it though....because he was rude to us in the past and we complained about him. I was lied to and ignored by the company. Bottom line, they just don't care about the customer. Be careful if you attempt to buy a home from them. I wouldn't do it again. This isn't the first home I have had built but it certainly is the worst experience.

The actual construction went very fast, probably too fast now knowing the corners that were cut. 3 days after we moved in the entire sewer system backed up into the house destroying kitchen cabinets, flooring and HVAC. They found that the main sewer line was crushed during construction which caused the issue. Keystone did fix everything but the this started my doubts. Looking over the house you can see that trim paint was done incredibly sloppy, crack fill was done AFTER the trim was painted so seams have a bright white filler that can be seen against the off white trim color. There was no thought process of "this is the minimum, but we should go the extra step to make it quality". The floor joists have no bracing, which isn't code but other builders always include; this means that my floors flex almost 3/4 of an inch making furniture shake like we are having an earthquake. Every single appliance and finish was picked to be the complete cheapest with no though as to longevity. I noticed that our powder room on the first floor was incredibly cold in the winter so I opened up the crawl space to find that NO insulation was installed in that area of the house. The water meter was not installed on a shelf to support the weight which caused a brass fitting to fail and partially flood the basement; the expansion tank on the hot water heater is installed at a 90 degree angle which will cause the seal to fail prematurely. The vinyl flooring in the bathrooms isn't seated against the tubs correctly. Keystone is very much a quantity over quality builder, stay away!!!
Description of Work: My overall experience with Keystone was incredibly bad. We did indeed get a good deal on the purchase price of a new home, but many many corners were cut in the construction stage leading me to believe that the low cost hurt the over build quality. Keystone relies completely on sub-contractors who they then squeeze to get the job done quickly with little regard for quality. I guess i cant fault the subs too bad as they are just doing what they are getting paid for but i would hope that companies would have more integrity and not take a job where the budget doesn't enable them to do quality work. Following up with Keystone was a joke, they would make comments like "you need to replace all exterior caulking every year". I tell every person i meet to NEVER us Keystone.
