Description of Work: We had them replace an outside door and door frame, as well as put on new shutters and fix some porch railings and posts. I would suggest not trying to get work done during hunting season because we had to wait about a month for them to finally come to do the work, but once they did get here, it was done quickly and we were pleased.

Description of Work: Rebuilt a closet damaged by a broken pipe (installed insulation, drywall, shelf and coat rod). Painted a living room wall and all related woodwork (2 doors, 3 windows, base board). It was a two day project. It was preceded by a visit to provide an estimate. The estimate was met and the work is beautiful. All the people I engaged (back-office and on site staff) were very professional.

Description of Work: Removed some shelving for me and did a good job. The man that did the work was very good at what he did and helpful. I had gotten some other estimates from them and that's what was way out of line.

Description of Work: I contacted Home One via Angie's List to originally get 3 windows repaired (I have double-hung windows where the top sashes were slipping down and not staying in place, and I needed them fixed pronto considering it was the middle of February, 2015). The Home One team was very, very slow. The original quote was missing a bit of information that made my original quoted price go way up. After getting answers to my questions about the original quote, I did get a revised quote for 5 windows, because two of my windows were actually to be considered as 4 windows because they were two windows in one frame. Hence, the new total number of windows became 5 windows, and I did agree to the repairs for them. Then, in the middle of the repairs, the guy said that I needed other repairs that, I believe, should have been included in the original quote. When I was told of these extra repairs, I did agree to them being performed and I also asked if all these windows could get the locks replaced and the weatherstripping for all these. The repair guy said yes. Well, all the windows did get the locks replaced; however, not all the windows got the replacement weatherstripping. Repair guy number 2 told me that if some of the windows' weatherstripping wasn't coming apart, to not replace it. Hmm... | |I just felt like things were suddenly getting a bit out of control. | |Somehow, I just got the impression that they just didn't want to do the job and/or they didn't know how to do the job. Their overall business practices left a lot to be desired. One issue that really concerned me was that it just seemed like one person wasn't communicating with another person, and that person wasn't communicating with person number 3, and so on. | |I readily admit that I'm a busy-enough person that's hard to make and/or keep appointments with but, I didn't think I was so bad that it would take 4 months to repair windows! I've had other contractors come to my home in the past to get quality repairs/renovations done within reasonable amounts of time (usually within a week or two), and at fair prices. | |To make a very long story short, the whole job took over 4 months (it was finally completed on July 8), and it cost me $477. Well, at least my home will be comfortable during the summer months and, hopefully, this coming winter as well! We'll see...

Description of Work: We used Home One to finish our attic, replace some doors, and some other jobs. They were prompt, clean, very professional and came in on budget. We were very impressed with their work and professionalism. Whether it was raining, snowing, or an inch of ice, the crew showed up on-time and ready to work. I found Tom (one of the owners) to be honest and truly looking out for our best interest when we were planning the project. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: The serviceman provided good service and promissed to deliver his recommendation which area he can improve and quotation I requestd. But, there was nothing from them. In addition,I contacted them to follow up his promise but nothing was happened so far. I was disappointed.

Description of Work: Complete electrical inspection--he went outside, into the attic, into the basement. He covered every square inch of the property inside and out. We were impressed by the promptness and the quality of the inspection. Without question we would use them again.

Description of Work: They are still in the process of working on redoing parts of my deck. It's gone well especially considering that we completely changed the plans for the job the day they arrived.

Description of Work: We needed some trim around the garage replaced (old rotted wood) and some wood around rear doorway (also rotted) replaced. They were prompt in returning calls/messages, and scheduled us in quickly. We are selling our house and needed to have it fixed up in order to show it. They did the work quickly and very promptly once we decided to use them. The work was done well and looks great.

Description of Work: HOME ONE HOME IMPROVEMENTS fixed my fence and some doors. They also installed some cat flaps, a new faucet, and and electric heater.

Description of Work: After a period of pretty intense wind, we had a couple pieces of siding come loose on the side of our home. They were high up and near the roof line, about 2.5 stories high. Home One came out and popped the siding back in and caulked them a bit to ensure they would not come back out.

Description of Work: I have used this company several times over the last 12 months. This most recent visit was to follow up on a previous visit. They had sealed a hole around my downspout earlier in the year, and squirrels had managed to open up the hole again. (He actually came out to 'evict' the squirrels and fix the hole for free.) He has replaced rusted gutters and downspouts, repaired woodwork, and also did roof repair from the recent hurricane for $1200..

Description of Work: Replaced a gutter on the front of my house. Added supports to gutter on rear of house. Repaired sealing around a vent pipe. Repaired water damage inside kitchen (4 places where the drywall had been damaged by water coming in from the broken sealing on the vent pipe).
