I'd never done business with Furniture Medic, but after doing some research, I took my table to the shop. That afternoon, Pat left a message on my phone, explaining in detail how the work would be done and giving me the cost. The next day, I spoke with her, agreed to the price for the complicated procedure, and gave her the go ahead. Then I mentioned I was moving to Florida in a few months. Pat responded by advising me not to have the table refinished because of the possibility it could be damaged in the move. Not only does Furniture Medic have a reputation for beautiful work, clearly it values people more than money. What a rarity these days!

Description of Work: I delivered an occasional chair to the shop to have 3 back pieces reglued. |At the time of delivery, I received no receipt or acknowledgement of my property and was told I would be called to give an estimate. After 1 month |of no communication, I called. The next day I did receive a call from the |technician who gave me a quote - $60.00 - and said the chair would be available in a day or so. I picked up the repaired chair and was given a |statement showing payment for the service. I am glad to have the chair again. | |I have had furniture repair service done before -some quite extensive. I thought the $60.00 charge exceptionally high for re-gluing (no pick up or return delivery by the service). |

Description of Work: Needed repair of hardwood door on entertainment center. Wood had split. They removed the piece and returned and installed on the day they said they would at the price they quoted. You'd never know the piece has split.

These comments pertain to restoring the antique wooden trunk but my satisfaction with the work on the other pieces is equally high. The wood panels were cleaned without removing the age-old patina, and lightly stained and oiled to bring the wood panels back to life. The metal strapping/edgings were cleaned and carefully painted a satin black which was thought similar to the original finish on the edge pieces. Replacing the leather handles took a very delicate hand because removing the handle brackets anchoring the leather handles required removing short, angled nails without splintering the wood, and then reattaching the handle brackets fitted with new leather. The newly installed leather trunk handles are elegant and just the accent this antique trunk needed. Without the vision and expertise of Furniture Medic staff, I probably would not have replaced the handles thinking damage to the piece would be too noticeable. Thank you staff for encouraging me to do the handles and then doing such a fine job!
Description of Work: 1. Refinished an antique wooden trunk including replacing long-missing heavy leather handles. 2. Also re-glued, screwed and pegged an teak outdoor bench. 3. Rebuilt and stabilized the back and headrest spindles of a 150 yr old rocking chair.

They did a beautiful job. They were really good. I know there is also a Furniture Medic in Elizabethtown, and my daughter had occasionally used them, and they are just as good. They are very reasonable. They are excellent. I would highly recommend them. When they do something, they tell you exactly what they are doing, and they respond to you; they tell you the time period it will take and what they need to do. They explain everything ahead of time. There is no misunderstanding about what they are going to do. They come in person; they pick up and deliver for you. They make it look like nothing happened with the furniture. It looks like brand new. They also know how to repair it with the style that it is, and they will not do something unless they can actually do it for you. I would definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: I had some old furniture repaired by Furniture Medic.
