I am not please with the work done. I would not recommend them or use their service area. A guy came out in February and gave a quote. The windows were finally fixed mid June. The original quote was a little over $100 and by the end of everything was over $400 for all the add ons. I wish my original quote was done correctly rather then having to go back and forth ordering more parts. I opened one of the windows and it came off track. I am now scared to open the others.

I cancelled it because they were scheduled to come and repair the roof in October 2015. I called several times to find our when they were going to come and do the work. They finally called in January 2016. After waiting for them for 5 months and it was winter, I cancelled.

Aspen did s good inspection of my roof and highlighted all the issues with pictures. They explained different options available to choose from and gave me really good deal on 3D architectural shingle roof. When the installers arrived they were very professional and friendly. They finished the whole roof in 1 day. Cleaned up very good after they finished. Also cleaned all the gutters after they finished.

The sales person was on on time for Home consultation and the process was very brief. Although, I told her am not interested in any weird presentation with heat lamps etc. I have done my research and I know what I want. She respect my decision and we went straight to pricing. After few hours, we agreed on a price but I still feel I could have gotten a lower price. The key thing was they were able to get me financing. Power Home Group and Thompson Creek couldn't get me the financing I prefer because I have high balance on some credit cards due to certain life issues. Aspen was able to secure financing with no payments for 6months giving me time to clear out the current debt while enjoying the windows and energy savings. They told me installation will take two days but the guys were able to complete it all in one day. I'm happy with the product and new look to my home. It's big upgrade from the old drafty windows. Thanks guys and Thank you Cori ;)

They worked non stop for 3 days, including a Saturday. They left no mess and did a nice job. My only complaint is that there was damage to some bushes around the house but I honestly don't know if it was avoidable. I would recommend them.

The salesman and installer did a very good job with the look and quality of the install. However, I noticed the installer using fiberglass to insulate the windows. Everybody knows spray foam is the proper way to seal and insulate a window. The window itself is very high quality, but the trim work is cold and drafty as fiberglass does not stop air movement. I voiced my concern and got the run around for months. I got tired of complaining and am doing my best to caulk the entire window frame from the inside to reduce the draft. The insul tech 500 series is a foam filled window. Why on earth would you take a foam filled window and insulate it with fiberglass?

Overall, everything was excellent. Our only complaint was delivery time - est. delivery was 6-8 weeks and actual delivery was 16 weeks. The price was very good, esp. since the order was so large. The installers were excellent. We had a 4-man crew; 2 trucks. The installers were very professional, arrived on time and worked all day. They cleaned up after themselves. Some of the doors were a little tricky since they were original to the house (mid-1940's). The aluminum trim/capping around the doors and between the main door and storm door is excellent and all the caulking was extremely neat. We were very pleased with the products and esp. with the installers. We would recommend them highly.

We first met Aspen Home Improvement when "Corny" Bob Hoppa and Chrissy Jongezon came to discuss their services. Both Bob and Chrissy were polite and a pleasure to talk with. Bob provided a nicely-detailed overview of the company and answered all questions. He also provided some education on roofs, which I appreciated. After that day, once we decided to hire Aspen Home Improvement to replace the roof, I dealt with Bob exclusively. Throughout the experience, he was available, came to the house at the beginning of the job, checked in with me directly regarding the job while the roof was being replaced and did a thorough walk-around and review of the work once the roof was completed. He attended to a couple of minor details that needed attention, including the thorough clean-up of debris. The entire experience with Aspen Home Improvement, specifically with "Corny" Bob Hoppa was exceptional and I would highly recommend his services to everyone. Karen Cumberbatch-Sullivan

-- We should have known something was up when they offered $1000.00 off on their product -- meaning that their products are extremely expensive. We ended up getting 2 doors and yes the doors are well-made, worth $7500.00 -- I don't think so. And their service after they got our order was pathetic. It was months after the sell before we ever saw the doors and that was only because we were the ones that hounded them as to when we were going to see our doors. The trim colors were switched -- meaning we have white trim when it should be tan and tan when it should be white -- this has never been fixed. This was a very expensive, painful experience and we would not recommend using this company again.

Aspen team did an outstanding job. Aspen scheduled the installation. Team showed up on-time, provided all the correct tools, ladders, etc. The installers were a well oiled installation machine. They took great care to be safe in their work and provided an excellent installation. All communications were friendly and professional. No mess. Team cleaned up work area. Aspen insured total customer satisfaction with us.

The windows were fine. Installed and work great. The only complaint is they did not make it clear I would not be able to hang my blinds back up - They did say it would be just more narrow fit, but I had to get a special contractor to get my blinds back up. I'm happy with the work, the windows, got it done quickly.

The sales pitch was replete with the usual hype about how great they were, you know, the kind of things everyone wants to believe they are purchasing : best materials, best price, knowledgeable and competent crew, concerned with appearance of work and alertness to leave no trace...etc. They required I sign that day in order to get the very special price they were offering me which I normally do not like. Of particular interest to me was the ventillation they offered. It made sense to me for my roof so I jumped through their sign-immediately hoop and applied to their financing coordinator so they could be assured of payment. I had full intention of securing my own financing which I did later secure but what concerned me was the advice from the salesman that their financing would qualify for tax deduction. My tax person did not agree with that assessment and I structured it differently to avail myself of this benefit. The next matter that concerned me was the work coordinators call to schedule the work right away as there were still winter temperatures below those the sales person indicated in the sales pitch were good for the work to take place. I was told the temperatures were not an actual impediment but I asked to hold off a few weeks anyway to allow me time to structure my financing and was granted the delay on that basis, but felt I had to work harder to control that factor than I should have had to. When the work was then scheduled to take place there was a truck breakdown so I took delivery of stock that day (a Friday) and work happened on Sunday when I had company...I had authorized the work to take place that day to be fair. It seemed to go smoothly enough even though I felt unsure any of the workers really understood English very well. As they were cleaning up after the job was completed I noticed I did not see the vents I expected and asked the man I presumed to be the foreperson and he said," ventillation not for you." The next day I called concerned about the vents not being put in and the coordinator took full responsibility saying it would be rectified as soon as possible. When the workers came back to install the venting I should have gotten in the first place it was hard to watch them rip off their own hard work intended to stay there to add it. Frankly this made me wonder what damage may have been done to the underlayment to tear off these shingles but I have been reassured that the final product is as good as if they had done it correctly the first time. The problems did not end here. On the call back the workers did not lay tarps on my deck as they had the first time out so I had mud to clean off my deck. In addition, only one side of the roof was ventilated when they left so I had to call and say the front had not been done. Eventually workers came back to do the front and did not seem to have any idea where on the front of my house to install it. They asked my brother where he wanted it put! They ended up calling the company and getting guidance but you can imagine my lack of confidence by this point.there was a final inspection and explanation and further reassurances but it certainly was not smooth.

Sales rep came to the house and measured up for the estimate. gave me the price I should have negotiated this down as I now believe that I paid an excessive amount for these windows. Shame on me. That being said, the installation was done in a timely manner and the installers were very neat and did quality work . I was especially impressed with the man who did the outside trim work. He was a superb craftsman. The windows look great. All in all we are very happy with our windows and if they live up to the promise of quality we will be even more satisfied. The sales manager was also professional and worked out a few change orders without difficulty. So the problem I have is not with Aspen but instead with myself. Over $1000.00 per window. Oy!

On the evening of the appointment, I contacted the company 25-minutes after the agreed upon time of 6:00 pm to inquire where the salesman was. I was told he was unable to find the address and was lost in the neighborhood. When they gave me the house number it was obvious why. It didn't exist. It wasn't even close to my home number. When I asked why they didn't call, I was told they had been trying to call and the phone just rang. I asked what number you were calling to find out they had my home number off by the last digit. Then I was told they had called my secondary contact number which was my work number. Of course they couldn't reach me as I had left work early for my scheduled appointment. I told the rep this was not a good first impression for the company and how unhappy I was. He assured me the salesman was around the corner and would be there in a few minutes. When Seth arrived he was very appologetic for the errors made with my address and phone number and was very professional. He explained that since they had the wrong address, he needed to reorder the report for my home to get a proper estimate for my roof. While we were waiting, I asked about estimates to replace the siding and front and back doors. He went over all my options and provided information and answered all my questions. About an hour later, he went over my estimate costs. While Seth mentioned that Aspen Home Improvements prices were a little higher than the competion, I almost fell off the chair when he quoted the prices. He gave me quote of $42,000+ just to replace my roof. He was nice enough to provide a 30% discount knocking it down to $30,064, but that was still a lot to take in. Then he gave me a quote of $16,208 for the siding and $8,115 for the two doors and storm doors. Considering the roof estimate was almost quadruple the other two roof estimates I had already received, I was quite disturbed with the price. Doing my homework, I knew the ballpark figures and even allowing a few thousand for labor, parts, etc., there was no way my roof should cost that much. I was so insulted with the quotes that I thanked him for his time and took the paperwork. However, not only can I not trust this company for providing a fair estimate, I would never do any business with this company as I felt like I was being taken advantage of for being a woman. In fact during the estimate process, Seth tried to play my decision off my sister as I wasn't willing to sign anything that night. He didn't realize I was the one making the decision as I own the home. I understand there are other customers' happy with the quotes and work provided by Aspen, but I find it hard to believe that a roof for a rancher would be over $40K when the competition is providing an estimate for $11K. Makes you wonder how honest this company and its employees really are when providing estimates to future customers. For all of these reasons, I've chosen another contractor to complete all the work on my home. I would be very surprised if I hear from this company again and if so, how they can justify such extreme differences in pricing.
Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment for estimates to replace my roof, siding, front and back doors. When the intial appointment was made, I verified my address and contact phone numbers with the appointment setter.

We initially contacted Aspen in September 2014 as part of the quoting process for replacing our old and leaking entry door and odd colored shutters that came with the house when we bought it. The quoting process was great, and we quickly got an estimate. Even though the price was higher than the competitors we decided to go with Aspen after reading reviews here and based on our feeling after the quote that everything would be handled professionally and we would receive a quality installation. We placed the order and a large down payment with Aspen prior to the end of September 2014 with the assurance that the install would be completed by the Thanksgiving Holiday in November. We had a large gathering planned for Thanksgiving and wanted the project completed before that, and before the weather turned too cold. Shortly before the Thanksgiving Holiday we were informed that the door would not be ready for installation as planned, but might be ready sometime in December due to an issue getting the glass that was ordered for the side lights and transom from the factory. But this would be without the correct transom glass which was apparently a special order, this was not noted in the brochure used to pick the glass or discussed during the purchase, and would result in an additional 3 months delay to receive the glass. It was agreed that the door would be installed with a temporary piece of glass for the transom until the ordered piece could be received, at which point it would be installed. Aspen/ their vendor did compensate us for this delay but upgrading the steel door we ordered to fiberglass door at no charge to us, which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately December turned into the new year and the door, along with the shutters, was actually installed in mid January. The door itself was high quality and the installation techs worked hard and did a fine job. The side lights were correct and looked great. However the pieces that were supplied for the exterior of the door surround were not correct and were about 6" too narrow in total, resulting in an odd and unfinished look to the door. All of the dimensions for the door assembly were taken by Aspen during the quoting process and were supposedly verified again by Aspen during a follow up measurement that occurred about two weeks after the order was placed. Also instead of an actual piece of temporary insulated glass for the transom, we received an 1/8" piece of plexiglass which didn't seal very well and flexed quite a bit with the breeze. After notifying Aspen immediately about the exterior door surround pieces and sending pictures and measurements, it was agreed that it was not correct. New items were ordered and the pieces installed at the end of January 2015. The transom was still clear plexiglass, but we did receive notification that the actual transom glass was due in at the end of February. At this point Aspen notified us that the remainder of the payment for the door had to be processed to keep our special financing promotion. So this was done with the agreement that the transom glass would be installed at no additional cost upon arrival. We were notified on February 24 that the transom glass had finally arrived to the Aspen warehouse and that we would be contacted to setup the installation shortly. After about two weeks we did get contacted to setup the installation. There was a small mis-communication between Aspen and the door vendor, who would perform the install, that resulted in the delay and shipping the glass. The transom glass was installed on March 13, 2015, unfortunately it was not the exact glass that was ordered and doesn't exactly match the side lights. It's certainly close, but for the price paid we expected to get what was ordered. Overall we're pretty disappointed in the whole process, both with the time it took to complete and with the general handling of the order. Now we have a brand new door that looks pretty good but just a bit off, because the glass doesn't quite match as it should. I will say that Aspen was open to communications during the process and did what they could to help us out. But there just doesn't seem to be much quality control in place to ensure that what goes out to customers is actually correct, or that what is offered can actually be delivered in the time frame as quoted.

We purchased 2 Angie's List vouchers for Aspen Home Improvement totaling $1000.00. We wanted to replace 2 windows that were drafty. Mark came out to meet us at our house and we decided to stay with the casement style of window. They only sell the Okna brand of window. This was a very long meeting; Mark is very friendly and talkative. This was in September 2014. Aspen had to order the windows. They took a while to come in and, due to our schedules and bad weather, they were finally installed in November 2014. The installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves. We haven't used the opening mechanism much since it is winter, so I can't comment on that. I will say the screens were extremely difficult to remove; they are held in by pins which are hard to grasp. Mark told us he would come out and inspect the installation after it was done, but he never did.

They hung up on me after I told them that Aspen Home Improvement was breaking the law by calling someone on the DNC list.
Description of Work: Like another reviewer, I too was called by a telemarketer representing Aspen Home Improvement, this despite the fact that I am on the national do not call registry. I have never done business with this shady outfit, nor do I ever intend to, so their calling me was illegal. I'm sure the CEO of this outfit will deflect blame onto the telemarketer as he did to the other reviewer, but that shows a lack of accountability. Stuff like that starts at the top, so I'm not surprised to read other stories on here about installers not getting the job done, office staff who cannot manage to remember to return calls (but the telemarketer could manage to call here once per day before I finally answered), overcharging (hey, gotta pay all those telemarketers). If the CEO isn't accountable for poor decisions, his employees won't be either.

I agree with you whole heartily and I will address this issue with the outside marketing company we hire as they absolutely should not be calling anyone on the DNC list. As far as Aspen home improvements is concerned we employ over 40 people and have been doing work within the local community for 22 years with over 10,000 loyal customers whom know we stand behind not only quality work but quality customer service. Customer service is priority and I just want to make sure you are aware that I will be dealing with this issue. If you have any further questions or comments please call me direct. D. It was good overall with the exception of the schedule of putting in the window. Unfortunately, it had to be rescheduled several times. It was anything from weather to having the wrong sized ladder. It started out very good, with the salesman coming out to the house, he was very professional. The whole process was really good right up until getting the window actually installed. It was just tough to get a date and some confusion to get it done. It started in January and it didn't' get installed until July. I wasn't home when they came out, my wife was there. She said that it was fine, she didn't say a whole lot.
