Horrible - I had Mike out October of 2019 he impressed my wife and I with his knowledge and what seemed like a caring, stand behind his work man. I saved for 2 years to have Access basement system’s come out and do the job right. On day one the team gutted all exterior walls I was impressed. Day 2 woke up to water all over the basement because they did not reconnect a drain and water from the shower was dumped in the basement. On day 2 only 2 of his crew showed up and that was all we had for the next 2 weeks. The guys that did the work were good guys. No issue there only saw Mike to get money. Water is still coming through the walls worse then before and causing mold. 5 calls And NO response from the family business that cares. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and hope that we can get this resolved. Mike if you see this I hope that we can work this out and you hold up to “we will take care of you like family. “

Access did an excellent, professional job. We chose Access because, even though they cost a bit more than other estimates we obtained, they acted as something close to general contractors. They took care of obtaining and scheduling electricians and plumbers, for example. Their knowledge of the type of work that we needed and the nature of our problem was impressive, and the owner was willing to spend the time to carefully explain the problem and the proposed cure. We had a water remediation system installed with a pump and marine battery backup. The work crew was totally professional. They knew exactly what to do and explained what they were doing. The interruption of our household was kept to a minimum. The job was begun and completed on time. This was an impressive company who was worth every penny that we paid. We would definitely hire them again.

I like that as the process was going i could go down to me basement and have them explane what each step was and how it would work. The all know what they are doing and are professional. In the end im glad i had some problems with other company's i found on here not getting back to me because these guys put in more work and dd it all great.

I purchased a ranch home with a finished basement in 2012 in Chester County. The sellers lied on the seller’s disclosure form and stated that the basement did not get any water. The first heavy rainstorm that we had left behind 2 inches of water in the entire basement. I had another basement waterproofing company come in to give me an estimate… naturally, after getting that estimate, I called a second company to compare, this time I called Access Basement Systems. Michael came out and was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. His estimate came in quite a bit lower than the other company, and I just felt that he was the right person to use. He did a wonderful job installing the system and left behind zero mess. Shortly after resolving my water problem, I contacted my attorney who started a civil law suit against the seller for lying on the disclosure form. During arbitration, Michael was kind enough to take time out of his day to testify about the conditions of my basement and that he was positive that this water problem has been occurring well before I purchased the home. Fortunately, I won my lawsuit, and was reimbursed by the seller for all damages, including the costs to repair the water problem. In 2016, I sold my ranch and purchased a new home. This time, I knew that the house we were purchasing had a problem with water in the basement. We got a good deal on it, so it was worth purchasing the home and repairing the problem. Since I had such a good experience using Access Basement Systems the last time, I hired him to repair the problem in my new house. This time, they also do finishing work (since our basement is currently finished). Super convenient that they can come in, tear the walls down, put in the waterproofing system, and refinish my basement in just a couple of weeks time. I refer Access Basement Systems to all of my friends and family who have a basement water problem. You will not be dissatisfied if you use them.

If you need it done, and done right, Michael and his team are the people you want working on your house! I contacted Michael about some water we were getting in our basement and needed another bid because I never go with just one bid when I am spending this kind of money. Michael not only gave me an estimate but spent 2 hours educating me on how this works and why it works the way it does. The price was higher than the others but the quality shows it. His team is not a bunch of sub contractors that don't care, they are all his employees and the guys take pride in their work. There were no surprises either, and he told me up front the cost and the time and actually finished earlier than the time estimated, they even did the little details like putting in air fresheners to get the basement to smell nice. I am extremely particular especially when this amount of money is spent and I would hire Michael and his team again in a heartbeat! Michael, if you are reading this review, thank you to you and your team from my wife and I. You have made the basement of our dream home usable again!

Contracted with Access to fix another contractor’s terrible work on our outside drainage. The owner, Michael, and his crew were professional, on-time, hardworking and cleaned up at the end of each day. Drainage is working great, and we would highly recommend them to our friends and family. Great job guys!

It could not have gone better. They were here for about a week, and did the work, which I would have guessed would have taken two weeks to complete, AND IT WAS DONE RIGHT! with NO MESS! Each Access Basements' employee ( Dan, Chris, Melvin and Trip) were professional, very orderly, considerate and friendly. I felt really comfortable with all of them, and probably ended up hanging out too much observing the job and their workmanship, which was flawless to a T!! I now have an attractive, water proofed basement that we don't have to worry about as we constantly did in the past. I'd also like to add the there occurred a slight problem, which was not part of the their program or original issue that the owner, Mike, Kuehn, along with Josh came back to address, at no cost. Was great to meet Mike, and he also further reinforced my confidence and comfort lever in their operation. They also did an addition job, applying glass board throughout the entire unfinished parts of the basement, which turned out exceptional, and dresses up that part of the basement... now it's officially my "Man Cave". And, I would be extremely happy to PERSONALLY talk to anyone who is considering ASSESS BASEMENTS, or other operations, because I did extensive research and interviewed many of them in the business before I chose ASSESS BASEMENTS, and am couldn't be happier that I did. ACCESS BASEMENTS has my vote as the best, by far, in the area, and beyond.

From the time I was contacted by Lori to the meeting with Michael, the experience of selecting a company to resolve our problem became very comfortable. Lori was very helpful whenever I talked to her and Michael provided the details of what they would do, and there was no pressure to make a decision at the time of the meeting. The people who were going to perform the work, called and indicated they were going to be a little late - provided me with the time - and they showed up as indicated. Josh reviewed all that was going to be done and provided me with the opportunity to answer any questions I had or came up during the installation. They did everything to ensure that the cement dust wouldn't come into my house. They arrived prepared to work and they did - the entire day. They had scheduled a 3 day time frame, however, the entire job was done under 2 days - cleaned up and looking good. The electrician was scheduled that Friday and he also showed up on time and prepared to work. Thank you, Michael, Lori, and the crew you sent to do the work - Access was most definitely the company to pick to get this job done. We were apprehensive about finding someone to do such a large job and it turned out selecting Access took that apprehension away,

They were timely. I like them. I did not have any problems with them. The only thing I did not know was that they did not put doors back on. Anything that they tore apart, they did not put it back. It does say that in the contract, but I did not see that ahead of time. I would not need them again, but I would probably call them.

We had had a seeping leak in our basement. We originally hired a competitor of theirs, who did a horrific job that damaged our home and caused water to pour into the basement every time it rained! Access basements came over and saw what we had. They did a very professional job from day one to correct the damage caused by the other company and install the new system properly and to code. They went above and beyond, and we are very grateful for their wonderful service and excellent work ethic!

Access Basement Systems is entirely professional, prompt, friendly and provides intelligent solutions to difficult problems that "make sense" and work. We had a very difficult issue with water coming UP from the earth, rising from below into two basement casement windows and then pouring in at the base of the windows directly into the cellar. Numerous attempts over the last two years (not with Access Basement Systems) to re-grade the earth outside, and shore up the existing drainage systems around the house didn't work at all! For example when it rained about 3.5" over a 2 day period, we got over 60 gallons of water coming in. And it appeared to be coming in from some underground space... not from surface runoff. Then we called Access Basement Systems. Mike, the owner came over and provided a solution that simply "let" the water come in under the windows and was intercepted by PVC piping and run down to a well/pumping system that pumped it outside and into the existing gutter-drainage system. After a lot of trials to solve this issue, this one worked great! The pumping system includes a marine battery for backup pumping in case the AC fails. And a trickle charger keeps the batteries charged up all the time. Mike was very personable, as was his Son Mike Jr. This is a family run business and Mike started it recently because he did not like the "Corporate, Large Company" ways of doing business. He's been in the "water solution" business for 22 years (I think he said...) and knows his stuff. The price seemed reasonable for all the work they did (2 full days with three people all that time, and two "systems" installed, including a lot of jackhammering and digging into solid rock to provide spaces for the water containers. Plus hiding PVC piping under the floor and re-cementing the floor beautifully so it blends perfectly into the existing cellar floor. I could go on and on... but you get the idea. You can't go wrong with this company. I got wind of them through Angie's List, and called them up after reading the reviews on this site.

The crew showed up on time and on the scheduled day. They started by removing a poorly done previous system (installed by another company). The crew excavated, placed pipe, dug holes, installed two new pumps with battery back up, then cemented the floor closed again. Our house is not large, however they worked to perform the whole job in one day. The owners showed up, also, that day to follow up with us to be sure we were happy with the progress and work. We inevitably had our first significant rain/snow combination March 29 and 30, 2014 and we are in awe of the amount of water the system continues to pump out the next day. There are no wet spots anywhere in our cellar! Even though the pumps have been doing running and performing a great job, one can barely hear them. The owners of Access Basement Systems are personable, knowledgeable, professional and they guarantee their work. We recommend them highly and without reservation.

We had a total of three estimates done. Two were within a very close range of each other. We decided to go with these people because they included the electrical work and cleaning after the job was done in their price. Our initial contact with Mr. Kuehn and Wes was on the 5th of March. This is when we signed the contract. He said people would come on the 26th of March at 9 to do the work. True to his contract the people showed up on that date at 9 in the morning. There were a total of 5 people who came to work and that is what they did. While some were hanging plastic to keep the dust down others were filling bucket full of stone to bring to the basement. This is an extremely dirty job since the basement floor has to be dug up and tubing put in with stones along our back wall. While one person did one job the others did another, all the while cleaning up as much as possible along the way. They carried stone and cement through my laundry room and kitchen for a total of close to 6 hours without making hardly any dust or dirt. They were extremely thorough and did an amazing job in a short amount of time. This pass weekend we had heavy rain and snow showers and no water seeping out of the blocks and no water in the basement of any kind. This crew of people did a wonderful job and we were so relieved that everything went smoothly. I truly have never seen someone do such a messy job and not make hardly any dirt. These people truly know what they are doing. I only have one minor complaint. There was such a long time between when the initial contract was sign and the actual work was done that I thought a reminder call might have been in order just to make sure everyone was on the same page. This could have been done two or three days before the crew showed up. Overall we are very pleased with the work.

It went great. Everyone that was part of removing the uneven sidewalk and replacing it was very professional. The new sidewalk and steps are slightly wider than what was there which is an added bonus. It is almost a pleasure to shovel the sidewalk now that it is even! Thanks everyone, it was a real pleasure to work with you!

1. Mr. Michael Kuehn of Access Basement, gave us $1000.00 off the price even though we didn't have a coupon. 2. Michael's crew worked hard in our basement. There are 2 areas that are only 4 foot tall. The middle of the basement is the only section in our 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath ranch house that is 8 foot tall. I still don't know how they fit a 6 foot guy in the 4 foot storage area to jack hammer a trench around the perimeter of the basement. They did a great job and got the job done. 3. Michael did everything he could to make us happy. Very pleased with the end results. Call Michael to "get er done."

My basement family room has been leaking the entire 11 years I live here, and likely for much longer. After my son moved back down there, I knew it was time to do something. Mike showed up exactly on time for the estimate and was thorough and professional. He told me exactly what he would do and when he would do it and what it would cost. I had gotten 1 other estimate for a different system at around the same cost, but decided on this system. The crew showed up on time, covered up the furniture and partitioned off the work area to keep the dust down. When the basement floor cracked unexpectedly, they called Mike who came right out. After some discussions they came up with an alternate plan, and were back on track. When they finished the next day they completely cleaned up and removed all the debris. The next time it rained we got water in the basement again, not nearly as much as before, but still, we had a guarantee. Mike and the crew honored that guarantee, came back to the house and reworked the drainage system. Since then, it's been completely dry probably for the first time ever! They did not charge me extra for coming back. I can't say enough good things about Mike and his crew -they were awesome!! I would recommend them to anyone -the proof is in my basement!

Our experience with them was very good. They did everything very well, I thought. They were very coordinated with what they had to do and the way they went about doing it. The price was a little more but they did a little more than I figured they would. I was satisfied with it.

We live in a 1880's city home with stone foundation that has experienced basement flooding in the past. With a recent rainstorm we had a few inches of water and decided it was time to do something about it. Access basement systems was recommended by a number of friends. Michael is extremely nice and professional and gave us an estimate for a french drain system. They were able to come the next week and finished everything up in just a few days! Overall our experience was very positive.
