Description of Work: Paul Henkel's extensive work on my home has been outstanding and his effort to improve/renovate/upgrade many areas of my home have made it more energy efficient, structurally sound and aesthetically appealing. The following is a summary of the work he completed replacing original double wood front doors with custom double steel doors; replacing rotting floor-to-ceiling sidelite windows (beside the front doors) with custom window/panel combinations; replaced two original custom hemi-spherical windows (above the front doors) with two custom energy star rated windows; reconstructed and rebuilt the rotting areas around the front doors and windows; rebuilt an exterior wall to the front of the main doors; replaced the original tile entrance way flooring (and the rotting subflooring) with hardwood flooring; installed hardwood flooring in the first floor master bedroom and two upstairs bedrooms; replaced 10 first floor windows with energy efficient star rated casement windows; replaced two original French doors (from the kitchen to the exterior) with two energy star rated doors and exterior screen doors; replaced deteriorating original sliding screen doors (from the dining room to the exterior) with two energy rated sliding doors and screen doors; replaced and enlarged the exterior outdoor deck; replaced and relocated exterior gutters and downspouts, added two pents (window overhangs) above four front windows; added an overhang above the front door; added steps and a front entrance area; added ceiling moulding around the perimeter of the living room; replaced 8 wooden shutters around the exterior front windows; supervised the replacement of a cracked exterior sewer pipe, original water line, installed a 150 gallon sewer pump and an exterior drain around the perimeter of my home to eliminate water incursion into the basement; supervised the restuccoing of the entire house and painting of the living room and two-story entrance area. As you can see my home was in need of a great amount of work that required a great deal of time and I was fortunate to hire Paul for this work. Paul is tireless in his effort to produce a quality product. He is an exceptional professional, always thorough, detailed and skilled. I have been thrilled with his work. He is simply the best.

Description of Work: Various areas of my house house were in need of extensive repair because of extensive water damage that caused significant rotting of wood. (Paul has worked in my home before and I was very pleased with all that was done.) This most recent job focused on the ground floor windows. Paul replaced all of the windows (10 in total) on the first floor of my house, including removing/replacing all of the window framing. He and his workmen are thorough, detailed and efficient. They took great care to make sure that the work was done properly. They cleaned the work areas both inside and outside of the house. (In fact, the house seemed to look cleaner after they left than before they arrived.) Although the work was expensive I did anticipate this expense because I was aware of the amount of damage and decay surrounding each of the windows. The new windows are easier to open and keep clean. The screens installed in each allow me to open the windows to allow a free-flowing current of air throughout. Once again, I am very pleased with Paul's work.

Description of Work: We have used Henkel Roofing for a number of roofing projects in our rental homes over the past couple of years. They are very responsive and gave accurate quotes on work. They put down a quality product and stand by their workmanship. We have had flat roofs done and also shingle roofs.

Description of Work: I had windows put in and they replaced flooring. They installed hardwood floors.

Description of Work: I have a room and hallway I want scrapped of wallpaper and old paint, plaster fixed and repainted. I am looking at the Historic Restoration part of the advertisement. (house is 150 yrs old). Called 4 times over the course of 4 weeks and got no return call - even if it was to tell me they didn't want the job.

Description of Work: replaced gas service line from street to house to accommodate tank-less water heater.

Description of Work: complete frontal addition to carriage house; new porches on carriage house and one on the main house ; moving from upper to lower location before then rehabilitating garden house on new site. and paul even rebuilt our winder staircase with much thoughtful geometry.

Description of Work: I used Henkel & Son LLC to do some flooring work in my house. I hired them as my house had some structural damage and the damage caused rot on the beams of the floor. They replaced the hardwood floor as well as the beams on the floor. They are also working on the drywall and the ceiling now.

Description of Work: This company is a Builder-General contractor. I employed Paul Henkel, a certified master carpenter, to work on structural damage to beams and internal areas of my home.

Description of Work: We purchased a new home only to discover that our front porch had severe water damage and was causing water damage to other parts of the house. Paul demolished the front porch, which was rotten inside, he removed damaged sheathing from the wall of my house and replaced it. He built a new front porch for us which was larger and different in design than the old porch. This work including putting in columns and framing a roof.

Description of Work: I had Paul install a 20x16 foot composite deck at the rear of my house with stairs leading to my yard.
