drain cleaning
+ -1 moreThe basement drain was not able to handle anything and was virtually clogged. He came and did an emergency snaking job on the basement drain. He got the drain open, but because of insurance reasons we could not use him for the repair. I had two experiences with him in 2015. He was prompt and returned my calls within an hour. He listened when I explained what was going on. I was out of town and coordinated with him the details of doing the work at my tenant's property. He got back to me with the diagnose in rough plumber's language. His communication style was very good. He had the snake with him when he came and looked at the leak. He drained the water away until I could get a different plumber to come and take care of the water situation. I don't think the price was bad considering it was an emergency situation.
Description of Work: I used Toolcity Plumbing. He determined that there was a broken city water pipe that was broken and was coming in our house pretty rapidly.

+ -1 moreOn the hot water circulating system, my wife and I were thinking of putting in a separate water heater. He recommended an alternative solution (essentially running a loop from the water heater to the far bathroom with a pump attached) that was much cheaper for us and works just fine. He could easily have gone ahead and done what we suggested and probably made more money for himself. I think the price was reasonable for what all he did.
Description of Work: They did three things. They replaced a drain connection where the original was the wrong type and as a result caused some plugging. They also installed a water circulation system so that hot water would run directly to a bathroom that was quite a ways from the water heater. This saved running the water for 90 seconds to get it hot. It requires a timer that can be set by the homeowner. His assistant installed the timer and messed it up, causing the breaker to blow when it kicked on. Upon complaint, he came back the next day and fixed it correctly. Finally, he checked out a toilet that we didn't think was working correctly and advised us on what we should do. It took about a half day. He discussed each of the items with us and explained why he thought his solution would be the best and cheapest. He came one day and looked at everything and then made an appointment a weel ;ater to do the work. He was very punctual.
