You Move Me

They over promise and under deliver. It was a 12-hour job, if not longer. We had them out initially to scope the work and I used our house phone number for that. Then I wound up booking them on line, I gave them my work phone number, gave them the address, told them that they were out before. When it came to actually moving that they, I was at home, they wound up calling my work number and nobody answered. So they canceled it for the first day. I called them up and they said they already moved on to another job. So it seemed like they overbooked for that day, for whatever reason. The next day came, I absolutely had to go to work to do something. Second day, even though we told them to call the house and all this they called the work number again. They weren't able to adjust their sails at all, to the winds. Good thing I was there at work. I told them that they were calling the wrong number and I gave them the right number. They finally showed up. And then during the middle of it, they said that they couldn't move the heavy equipment because they didn't have the right tools for that job and that they weren't going to hurt their guys. I can see it from their perspective, but at the same time, you don't promise you can move something and then can't. That's why we had to have a third company come out to move the remaining stuff. Also, we have triplets and they didn't assign enough people to the job. It ran past their bedtime, at least an hour over and then afterwards, I found out that they didn't put some stuff together like they were supposed to. So it was just a failure on so many levels. The worst thing that fell out from that was the fact that my wife's friend's father passed and she couldn't make it to the funeral because it was that second moving day because they didn't show up the first time. You can't recover stuff like that.

If you would of asked me back in July of 2015 what I thought of them I would have told you you couldn't do any better, now I would not used them! Let me explain, back in July of 2015 my wife and I were downsizing from a home to an apartment until we found a smaller house, we went online and received a quote. Two weeks before this move they called and we went over everything that was going to be moved to the apartment. No one ever mentioned to us any promotions or that our quote maybe wrong once they get there, etc. The day of the move they arrived on time, they were very careful and professional. Wrapped everything in blankets and then plastic wrap. Did a wonderful job, we were very impressed and I paid a little under what our quote was. Who wouldn't be happier? I told everyone that asked about them! Now comes our second move from the apartment to our new home during June of 2016, again we went online to schedule our move and the quote was very close to the first one. They called about two weeks before the move and I went over everything that was to be moved. This was the same amount of furniture with less boxes than the first move, no one at this time mentioned that the quote was wrong so we thought everything would be like the first move. The day of the move they arrive on time and begin their work only to be told about an half hour into their work that the estimate I received was wrong and that the move may cost me more. What was I too do at this point, they had some of our furniture on their truck and we had to be out of the apartment by the next day, so I figured it maybe a little more. They wrapped some things in blankets and then plastic wrap. They wrapped some things in plastic wrap only (who would of known that some of the items not wrapped with blankets would receive scratches) (should of been me). Anyway, when the move was done (which by the way was done in the same amount of time as the first move) and remember the very same furniture and less boxes we have to pay $400 more than the quoted price and the first move. I called the main office of You Move Me within two days (after getting my computer back up and running and I had a chance to review what we paid both times) they told me that they would look into it for me. I received an email from them a couple of days latter only to be asked if the local manager (franchisee) has gotten in touch with us and also to tell us that according to the local office that our first move was done under a special promotion of 3 guys for the price of 2. No one had ever told us of this promotion during 2015. Both of our quotes where within $'s of each other, so we thought that they were good quotes. I emailed this back to the person at the main office telling her that no one had ever told us this nor has anyone from the local (Bellmawr) location has reached out to us. To this day they still haven't. I'm not sure how you can move less and get charged $400 more for it! That was my mistake and it will never happen again. Don't let it happen too you!

Them moving service was suppose to include an overseer by the thr name of Mr. Christmas but he was extremely difficult to get in touch with and never returned phone calls. On the day of the move, the movers arrived with a truck that was too small even though I had clearly explained to their customer service representative what was in each room. Because it was their error, they offered to move the rest of the items on the following day and provide us with an extra man at no charge. We agreed and the move went forth as scheduled. The following day there was no extra man and I had to contact the company and speak to a supervisor. She was very apologetic and agreed to reduce the price per hour because of the lack of an extra man. The move took twice as long as estimated and was double the price of the estimate! The workers were very tired because they explained they had been in New York since 3 AM and by the time they arrived at my house it was mid afternoon. I would never use this company again because when I made the reservation the agent guaranteed me that they estimate on the high-end and that my move would not cost more than their estimate of $908. My move ended up costing twice that amount and took two days because of their lack of preparedness. Apparently the large truck was still in New York and could not be used for my move. Very disappointed I would never recommend this company to anyone!
