Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for the installation of a new energy saving attic fan from Angie's List and when I called the provider, the rep explained to me that there was a mix up in communication with Angie's List. The rep explained to me that they were mostly likely, able to replace existing attic fans, but were not able to fully install new ones because they were not licensed to do the electrical portion of the job and that I should seek out a refund and let Angie's List know what he said. He said he was having to inform a number of the customers of this news and miscommunication.

Mazzi and crew did a great job on our property from start to finish. The roof was done in 2 days and aside from a few very small debris items that had fallen into hidden spots around my back deck, we would have never known anyone had just completed replacing the entire roof, skylights and repaired the chimney. The siding job was a bit more complicated as it required addressing a few odd issues that had more to do with certain sections of my home, but the guys did a great job and were helpful with a few ideas of their own about how to proceed. Although the siding took significantly longer than the roof due to the nature of the work, we are very happy with the work and quality of materials. The sliding door was replaced while the siding was being done, but the front door had to be special ordered and was completed on or about November of 2012. The door is absolutely beautiful and the install job was done very well. We were only missing a few small pieces of finishing trim which was completed shortly after the door was installed. Having completed a fairly large job with Mazzi I feel very comfortable recommending his company for your home needs. In fact, since we completed our work 6 of my neighbors have also contracted with Mazzi.
Description of Work: Joe Mazzi and his crew sold us on both the quality of the materials as well as the work they would perform on our home. We had Mazzi replace our roof and all 4 of the skylights as well as repair and recap the chimney and replace the roof on my shed to match the home. They also removed and replaced our old aluminum siding with an insulated vinyl siding that made a huge difference in the warmth of our home this past winter. After they removed the old siding we learned that there was no moisture wrap so Mazzi also wrapped our house with Tyvek. We also had Joe and his team replace all our gutters and downspouts and they ran extended lines away from the house to help with the drainage. Mazzi also replaced a sliding glass door in the back of the house as well as the front door to our home.

From the first returned phone call to the last handshake, Mazzi Contractors got the job done in a professional, thorough and courteous manner. The pricing was fair and reasonable. Jim Lido, President, personally handles the business-end and sets up the estimates, call-backs, contracts, scheduling and follow up. The mechanic who did the actual work was prompt and experienced with all the proper tools and ladders. Although he worked alone, he was as quick and efficient as any two man crew. Work area was thoroughly cleaned up with no debris left behind. Very satisfied with the workmanship, as well as the interaction with Jim. All questions were answered honestly and the willingness to work with me as the homeowner was always evident with no signs of cutting corners or hidden costs. Although I had to ask for the certificate of insurance(not voluntarily offered), it was promptly produced, and the permit with the township was paid by Jim before the work began. In the end, I do believe that Jim and his crews "get it" with respect to homeowners concerns about disreputable contractors and shoddy workmanship. Their tagline - " We treat your home like it's our own" - rings true. I would not hesitate to recommend Mazzi Contractors and I hope they continue to satisfy many more homeowners sorely in need of confidence in their contractor.

Mazzi Contractors provided a total solution for our building project that continues to save us money each and every year. Other builders were reluctant or unwilling to paint and finish the inside-work around the newly installed skylights but Mazzi Contractors were more than happy to provide all of this at no extra cost or delays to us. Joe Mazzi was friendly, on time, accurate and provided a superior overall solution that beat the competition hands down. Incredibly, Joe and his construction team finished the roofing, skylights and insulation-siding work in a little over one day! His inside 'finishing' work exceeded all of our expecations. Job-site clean up was perfect. I doubt anybody could provide better service than Mazzi Contractors and we intend to use them again and again. We recommend them whole-heartedly for any homeowner's building project no matter how challenging.
Description of Work: Mazzi Contractors pleasantly surprised us on our 'new-roof' project and delivered everything in a professional and courteous way. Not only did they provide a new solar-efficient shingled roof using the best materials available, they also identified other energy-saving methods as part of the solution. This included new, Energy-star rated skylights and removing the siding on the sun-exposed side of the house to add additional insulation underneath which would further reduce energy costs for years to come.

These guys are the best; recommended! Included in the original contract price, they referred me to a great architect/designer (Martha) to design the space over the garage, as well as the bathroom and portico design. I was very pleased with the design after just a couple of iterations. Once the permits were acquired and the work commenced, I have nothing but praise for Joe Mazzi; his attention to detail was outstanding. He uses the absolute best subcontractors in the area. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the quality of work and Joe's concern that I was fully informed about job progress, scheduling etc. The initial contract price was about as I had planned/expected. Of course, as is always the case with projects like this, I added lots of 'extras' as the project proceeded. I was particularly pleased that there was no nickel and diming at the end, when the time came for the final payment; we very quickly came to conclusion on the final price. When I next need any home improvements that I can't handle myself, I'll be certainly calling Mazzi. Thanks Joe!

Great upfront once you sign contract. Quality products, fair price, etc. We were having gutters and downspouts replaced as well as new windows. All sounded great. Gutters/downspouts first; Crew (which turned out to be sub-contractors and was not disclosed to us) When the guy says, "my crew" I guess I assumed he meant they actually work for him. Showed up on a Saturday evening at 5pm (not scheduled, we were told that it would be some time the following week). They did a horrible job, didnt speak English and were not at all concerned about doing a good job, they wanted to get in and out as quickly as possible, did a horrible job, left gaps in the gutters, trash everywhere and didnt even bring enough materials to finish the job. Worst part is that I convinced my neighbor to have hers done as well (we live in adjoining townhomes). It was so bad, they sent another crew out to tear them down and start over (according to the owner of the company, but I cant tell if they tore them down or just fixed issues). Then the windows. Get call Windows are in, take vacation day from work. Worker shows up, starts taking out a old window and realizes windows he brought were ten inches too short. Has to leave, reschedule and come back. Mistakes happen, I get that. However issues with both gutter and window projects?? Interesting note, on three occassions, I talked to the owner of the company who said he would do whatever needed to make it right, including taking money off the final bill. Not once did I ask for this, as I just wanted to the work done right, but given the conversation was led to believe that I would see a little taken off the bill. They finished the windows yesterday and as prompt as could be I get a phone call regarding payment. There was no discount, denied ever saying they would take money off, etc.just make the job right. Oh and on top of that, I was told that the price included removal and disposal of the old windows. I wasnt there when the job was finished, but my wife had to "tip$$" the guy to take the old windows. He was just going to leave them and said our trash carrier would take them Now I guess there is a warranty with all of this. If I have any leaks related to the gutters or window issues, who knows if they will honor. Shame on me for picking a "random" contractor and not researching. Please beware

Response from Mazzi Contractors
The member is disappointed we would not reduce the price off his job even further from the discount already provided. The gutters were 2" short according to the member so they were replaced. Unfortunately the manufacturer made an honest mistake on the original windows so we were unable to install them on the date the member took off. Two weeks later the windows were installed and the member expressed his satisfaction to me. We asked for no money down so the day after completion called for payment. At no time did anyone from Mazzi contractors offer the Suplees financial compensation for an honest mistake made by the manufacturer which was quickly rectified. It is sad that the member would complain about two hard working men from South America because their English is not as good as his. The windows and gutters were completed for a very fair price and I'm disappointed the member felt the need to express displeasure because he wanted money taken off.

I think the roofing was done pretty well. I know other companies that charged more. I think the soffit and fascia work was high. It is likely I would use them again in the future.
