This is long but what I experience was a nightmare and I truly hope you read all of it They arrived on time but that was the end of the professionalism there. At that point everything went down hill. We hired them to move everything from our 3 bedroom home. We have 4 kids, my husband had an ebay store so he had lots of inventory so yea we had a lot of stuff to move. They never came before hand to do a walk through estimate as other companies wanted to do. We were told we had them for 12 ours. We wanted them to move all the furniture and all the boxes that were packed. There were only 3 guys and big truck. The youngest guy started complaining not long after starting the job saying "Oh this is going to take forever" and "This is too much stuff!" The didn't even have to move too many big items because we had bought new bedroom suits, new couch, new kitchen table and chairs, new coffee tables and end tables, new washer and dryer, and new stove which were all already at the new house before they were even hired. In fact the only big things they had to move were the refridgerator, one twin bed, 3 dressers, a book shelf, and some of my daughter play things. The rest were packed boxes and things like toy boxes. Well the youngest the the crew continued to complain through the day. Complaining more and more. A fedex guy stopped I had to sign for a package. The youngest guy saw him and as the fedex guy left he said "Tell him we're starting our own company called FedUp" My husband had to go over to the new house because the cable guy was going to be running lines and things so I had to stay at our old house by myself with them. After a few hours of the movers being there, when I'd tell them what needed moved the movers would roll there eyes at me and huff. They got most things we wanted them to move on the 1st floor and 2nd floor. Then They had removed a window on the landing to bring down the one mattress. asked "Is that it?" I said no there's still stuff in the basement. Which included all my husband's ebay inventory, my husband workout equipment and my couponing stock. When they went down there and saw the stuff the youngest one again started spouting off he said "You guys are killing us! This looks like a move that wasn't ready to move!" I told him that we hired them to move a three bedroom house, that we have 4 kids and a home business so we did have a lot of stuff that's why we hired someone. The young guy became very aggitated. He got in my face and started yelling at me. I tried to keep my composure but my heart was pounding. The young guy said to the other guys "I'm not coming to work tomorrow I don't care if they fire me!" The other guys didn't say a word the whole time. They didn't try to calm him down, they didn't apologize, in fact when they carried some stuff out of the basement I heard them all complaining. I started to cry when they were out of site. I was afraid to be in the house alone with these guys at that point so I called my husband. He sent my father in law over. I was shaking by the time he arrived. It was only then, 8 hours into the move that they asked to bring another guy in. The tallest of the three guys said "Ma'am the guys are getting tired, it's raining, and you keep adding stuff. We want to bring someone else in to help but it's going to cost more". I had no idea what they meant by "adding stuff" we hired them to move everything in our house! My husband told them just to finish up at the old house until they had a truck load and bring it to the new house. Then he fired them. After my husband told me he fired them I made sure the lights were out and went to lock up when I realized there was a breeze from somewhere. The movers never replaced the window in the landing! My father in law had to replace the window himself. I called both the corporate and Johnstown office after the fiasco but of course no one was in. The next day the Johnstown office called and I told her my complaints: The attitude, how they didn't even move all our stuff. The woman gave me attitude on the phone and told me she had written down they were only supposed to move the big furniture so I double checked with my husband to see if that was true. He said no I told them all the big stuff and all the boxes. Then I told her about the young guys attitude and how all of them were rolling their eyes and being unprofessional. I broke down crying again and told her about how the young guy became very aggitated and got in my face and the things he said. She then backed down and told me that was unexceptable and they would talk to him. She said "I supposed you're going to want some kind of compensation for your emotional distress" and it was more mocking than sincere. I told her "We though we hired professional movers, we didn't get professional movers. We hired you to move all our stuff, there is still a moving truck of stuff that needs moved from that house." as far as I'm concerned we didn't get anything we paid for. Your website says your company won awards for professionalism and customer service which is why we hired you. We didn't get that at all " She told me she'd talk to her higher up and get back to me. It's not 6 months later and I never heard from them again and never received any compensation. All I can do is tell anyone that will listen not to hire this company. I told friend and coworkers my story and they were shocked with everything that happened. In fact I have them coming up to me saying "Hey my friend or my family or whoever is going to be moving soon. What was the name of that company you used so I can tell them to definitely not use them" It took weeks for us to get the rest of the stuff out of our old house using my suv and my father in laws pick up truck. It was possibly the worst experience I've ever had with hiring someone.

Came recommended by another mover who'd moved me several times before (in Chicago) but was too far away to move me this time. THIS mover was a disaster from the get-go. Reserved four men, only three showed up. The three men INSISTED it was a 2-day move (it totally wasn't). Took NO care of my possessions--didn't even inventory them, no paperwork provided before work began--just threw items onto a truck. If they wrapped my furniture to protect it (and it certainly doesn't look like it was protected--LOTS of gouges that weren't there before), I didn't see it. Wouldn't move my walking lawnmower, wouldn't move large houseplants . . . drove off without taking everything I wanted taken to the new place. Made disparaging comments about my furniture, the home, the location. Told me I had too much stuff and one guy offered to "take the few good pieces" off my hands. Literally THREW my belongings around, breaking a number of bookshelves in the process. Didn't organize the boxes at ALL--left big open spaces in the corners of rooms and dropped boxes on top of rolled-up rugs rather than roll out the rugs first. Kept wishing me good luck with the mess they were leaving--and boy is it ever a mess. Left a heavy sweater chest OUTSIDE on the deck rather than move it into the house. Didn't untether a tree they'd tied up to facilitate access to the door. OVERCHARGED for travel to and from their facility to my old and new homes. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Do yourself and your belongings a favor and use someone else to move you.
Description of Work: Moved my furniture from my old apartment to my new home--furniture and washer/dryer ONLY--less than 10 miles.
