Referred to shop by a professional cabinet maker, Saentz from Cresson Spoke on the phone initially to discuss specific job , delivery times, and completion timeframe. Took cherry table down to shop, shop guys took table out of van and brought into refinish area After two days, table was done and ready to be picked up. Mr. Gulish called and we arranged pick-up time. At pickup, he told me the table would need two weeks to reach final cure (slow curing catalyzed lacquer) before hard use and then to put on a furniture wax. Shop guys again loaded table back into van Brought second tabletop and leaves to shop, Gulish asked that I bring table pedestal legs so that he could give them a touch up recoat (no charge) to make entire table look uniform. Table was finished in 4 days and he called to set up a pick-up time, I was very impressed with Mr Gulish's refinishing knowledge, shop attitude, and prices. Shop is a typical woodshop with wood dust, stain, and lacquer smell but don't let the looks fool you - it is a high quality place. Easy to get to right in downtown Johnstown.

It took me two days just to get in touch with Gulish. He doesn't keep regular business hours so you'll need to call early morning or late afternoon. This is also the time you'll need to deliver your furniture, he does not pick up furniture as far as I know so be prepared to lug your stuff to his shop. His shop is in an alley and looks a little run down. Yes there's a little dust on this bottle folks but don't judge what's inside off of that. As mentioned before our dresser was in rough shape it had been sitting in a garage for awhile and had multiple major problems. Now it is a beautiful dresser and a family heirloom. They do wonderful work very reasonable prices. The only issues I had with Gulish was his estimated delivery time. Granted we ran into a few unforeseen issues with my project, he ran two weeks over his initial estimate (cost estimate was fairly good). Overall, I will be bringing my yard sale finds to Gulish in the future because he does great work at great prices. I will however will just make sure I leave enough padding if it's birthday present. :-) I've called multiple furniture shops in the area and this is where they take their stuff to be fixed and there is no wonder why, he's good.
