Gave him a deposit on July 30th of $ 500.00 He came out the week of 8/11/2021 Started breaking up the cement in the middle of the driveway Work about 2 hours a day for three days then asked for additional money in the form of a check for $3,000.00 He cashed the check within 20 minutes have not heard from him since had to hire someone else . He took off with my money and left quite a mess in the driveway could no close gate to leave the dog out He left stuff in my garage called him 9/16/2021 to pick it up said he be there that day never showed. I would not recommend him to anyone I am working on taking this to court

Carl came to do the estimate the same day I called. He explained what needed to be done and gave what I thought was a fair price. I hired him and he came out the day he said he would. He cleaned up after himself at the end of the day. He did a great job. It was a pleasure dealing with him

I had homeowners insurance, made a claim including pictures. State Farm had an adjuster come out to have a look in person. Carl from Viking was here also when the adjuster came out. As he was talking with the adjuster, he said ?We will fix it, it?s not going to be a problem.? He assured me, he would be working with the insurance company to get an appropriate amount of money to finish the job. He gave me the impression that the repairs were already in the works. Carl asked for a $500.00 check as a deposit. He said, ?When the weather clears, we will get to work.? I followed up with Carl a number of times over the course of 6 months since that day. He said he had settled with the insurance company without our knowledge, and he said our $500.00 was gone. It is my understanding that he means that he took the money from the insurance company and our $500.00 and both amounts are gone. I?ve done some research about Viking Building Group online since that time. I found out a former subcontractor has a lien against Carl?s company. Another person, a former customer, has a Youtube video posted online detailing a bathroom remodeling job. They had some specialty tile work done by Viking where all of the tile is coming up. In addition, the plumbing work done by Viking is all wrong. The poster of the video documents the fact that sewage comes up through the drain in the sink and bathtub. Viking?s website has a disconnected phone number, and no mailing address ? just a zip code. He basically doesn?t want to talk to anyone unless it is for new business. He does not want to be bothered about old jobs.
