I had an appointment for a consultation on 6/19/15 at 10am. I left my home in the morning and returned at 9:40am to see 2 messages on my answering machine which were left at about 8:15am. I returned the call to Shannon and she said it was too late for the 10am appointment since I didn't return her call earlier. WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL THE DAY BEFORE!! Yes, I'm angry that I rearranged my schedule to be here only to find out they couldn't come. The other two companies giving me estimates called a day or two in advance to confirm the appointments This is not how a professional business operates. They come when they are supposed to come. I will not reschedule with them nor recommend them because they are not ethical!! There are lots of other companies who do the same work to use. .
Description of Work: Nothing except cause me to adjust my schedule and then find they would not come for the appointment.

Scheduling was easy. Wait time was about 1 week or so. A distinguished looking gentleman came on time. Inspected the basement and the walls as the exterior of the property. Made recommendations to deal with the current issues. What was there did not need any work from them. I was highly impressed with his honesty. It was a free estimate so did not have to pay anything. I would recommend this company for any water proofing type of work.

The Champion Waterproofing representative Alexander Howard was very responsive to my request for a meeting about my wet basement issues. Mr. Howard was very knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to schedule the work quickly and even put me in touch with a neighbor who had the work done recently so that I could get some idea of what to expect. The workmen came promptly on the agreed upon date, and worked hard, completing the job in 2 days. The reason I only gave the quality of the work a good, was that the workmen screwed up the gas line while moving the water heater, so much so that the plumber suggested having it replaced ASAP because it was twisted so badly while the workmen disconnected the water heater. My brother replaced it the next day, but if he wasn't available to me, I would have had to call a plumber. Also, the workers did not do what Mr. Alexander said they were going to do as they said it was unnecessary. What I am trying to say if you choose Champion Waterproofing, you may need to monitor the workmen thoroughly when they show up. They know what they are doing, but they can be careless. The overall experience was positive and I would recommend Champion and have at least three times since the work was done.

They showed up on time and only took 3-4 days to complete the whole job. The workers were knowledgeable and pleasant. The warranty is great and we would recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Interior waterproofing of the basement. This required breaking through the concrete floor, installing French drains, re-surfacing the floor and adding a barrier approximately 1 foot up the walls. Also installing 2 sump pits and pumps in the garage and basement. They also connected the outside downspouts to the sump pump and ran a drain line from the house to the street.

Howard Alexander was right on time. He took the time to answer all my questions and explain what would be done. The price was very reasonable. The date of work was set the workers were on time. They were quick, polite, thorough and cleaned up after themselves. No complaints at all. They finished in less than two days.
Description of Work: Champion Waterproofing installed (9) channel wall Anchors around the foundation of my house. This was performed on the two foundation walls that were bowing inward due to outside pressure. The anchors were reinforced by rods and anchors that buried underground in the yard that pulled on the indoor anchor to support it.

Everything went exceptionally well. Their price was 20% lower than the other bidders and worked around our furnace location. Other bidders wanted us to have the furnace moved which we knew was not necessary. The furnace made the job more difficult, but not impossible. The price was very reasonable compared to other firms. The drain is 28 feet long. The workers came on time and finished in one day. Workers were diligent and professional. I could not convince them to come into our kitchen and have lunch as they wanted to stay on the job. I, the owner, watched every step. As a registered professional engineer I can assure you they did everything by the book. The drain is easily a foot deep with all the proper components. Finish cement work is flawless. Three days later the whole room was noticeably drier and has remained so since. We are very pleased. By the way, this is Champion Water proofing out of Jeanette PA not to be confused with Champion windows or remodeling. The water proofing out fit predates them by several years.
Description of Work: The provider extended an interior french drain in our basement and replaced an eight year old sump pump. The new drain was tied into an existing drain that already included a sump pump pit.

They are very good. They did a great job. They came in, did exactly what they said they were going to do, and did it when they said they were going to do it. Everything worked out they way they said it would. That stood out the most to me because a lot of contractors don’t do that, but, they gave me a specific date and showed up on that date, so I was very pleased with that.

Day 1 - The crew arrived late due to getting lost. We were never called for directions. They did get to work and began jackhammering up our cement floor in the basement for the installation of the drains. All seemed to go well until they told us that they "found" a broken drain pipe when they jackhammered up the concrete. We were not present when this occurred so we don't know if they actually did it or not. This has not been repaired yet. We have a large hole in the corner of the basement floor. Day 2 - The crew arrived earlier this day. They had to finish jackhammering up the other basement room floor, but had to have a large radiator unhooked and moved, then it was to be re-installed later that day as we had no heat without it. He DID NOT turn off the holding tank over the furnace and when I got home from an errand, I heard a "glug, glug" noise from the basement. The waterproofing crew had finished and gone by this time. Because the hold tank was not shut off, the radiators drained and there was 1/4" of water on the floor in that room which we had to clean up. Also the sump pump chamber was put in and the pump was working initially. The radiator was removed by their "radiator guy" and he returned in the late afternoon to hook it back up. He left telling us that it would all be fine and all we had to do was bleed the air from the radiators. It wasn't fine. That radiator nor the one above it had any heat in them in single digit temperatures. The basement wall had ice on it. They also ran the discharge line into our side yard, about halfway down, making it unusable due to the drainage. They told us that it wouldn't always be so wet, but the water table was up. This, we found out later, was not true and the bottom part of our side yard remained a swamp until the line was rerouted later. Day 3 - We did not know on day 2 that the radiator valve had been broken. We still had no heat in 2 radiators in single digit temperatures and with ice on the walls in the basement and we continued to bleed the radiators although there was NO air coming out, only water now. We called again and were informed that the radiator guy (sub-contractor) would return by the end of the day to fix the problem. We found that in the process of either removing or re-installing the radiator, he broke the valve off and didn't repair it. We had no heat in 2 radiators for over 4 days. Champion was notified of the problem multiple times this day and were assured that "Dan" would be there to make sure we had heat. My husband stayed up until past midnight waiting for him to show up or call and he never did. Champion was called again. He also broke the valve in the "closed" position which meant no heated water could get to the radiators. Day 4 - We still had no heat in the radiators. Champion called a local heating company to come out and fix the problem with the radiators. They came, did not have the needed valve, ordered it, but still we had no heat in the basement and living room radiators. Champion told us to buy a portable heater for the basement and they would reimburse us. We were not able to do this. Then the sump pump chamber began filling up due to the pump not working. We called Champion again and they said they would send someone out Friday morning. We were very concerned about the sump pump chamber overflowing. Luckily, this did not occur. Day 5 - We still had no heat in the radiators. Champion was notified multiple times about this. The other company they called could not return. Because of the cold, we made the decision to call our own heating guy who came out and was able to fix the radiators on Day 5 & 6. Cost to us was $200 which eventually was reimbursed to us by Champion. They sent out someone to fix the sump pump this day. The pipes, with the check valve, were cemented together so sloppily that cement ran into the check valve and closed it, causing the sump pump to fail. Pipe and check valve were replaced and the pump began working again. In the process of all of this, THIS Champion crew did not use due diligence or care with our home. They fractured the riser and stringer on the basement steps, jackhammered a drain line in 2 places, punched a hole in our foundation and did not repair it initially along with the sub-contractor that broke the radiator and almost ruined our furnace by not shutting off the water properly to the hold tank, turned our side yard into a swamp/iceberg.

I had waterproofing service done 8 years ago. Water started coming into my basement again so I called because they performed the original work. Communication was poor. It was 2 weeks after my first phone call that I was given 1 day notice of an appointment I never scheduled. It took multiple phone calls and multiple visits to write up an estimate for service, which for me meant time off work. Then after I was told I could use the Angie's List $150 off coupon, I was told I could NOT use it because it wasn't considered a "full job". My service job cost $980 and involved installation of equipment. The work performed was acceptable.

I had used this company several years ago when I had my first home's basement waterproofed. They came in with the best-priced bid then and did an outstanding job, so when I was buying my new home last summer of course they were on my list of people to call. The front basement wall had a horizontal crack running almost its entire length at just about chest-height; Champion explained how their wall-anchor system differs from what everyone else is selling, why it is better, and then gave me a quote that was literally thousands of dollars less than their competition. I have used them twice in two different homes, and have been wowed both times. Their prices are very reasonable, their workmanship is outstanding, they show up on-time and complete their work on-budget. If i ever find myself in need of basement waterproofing services again I will not hesitate to call them. I am a very happy customer and glad to write a review.
