About us

At Window Nation, we know replacement windows. We’re third-generation window replacement experts who have been lucky to provide homeowners replacement windows, siding, and doors for over fifteen years. We opened our first showroom in Maryland in 2006, quickly growing to serve homeowners in cities across the country – and we’re not stopping there. We’re grateful for every homeowner who has trusted us to upgrade their most important asset: their home. We’ve learned a lot about home improvement over the years, but the most important thing we learned isn’t about window replacement. We learned the home improvement industry isn’t about offering the best windows, siding and doors; it’s about the relationships we build with our customers.

We had adjustments done to our new windows after seeing and feeling some cooler air leaking in during the winter months. The adjustment was done very well. The crew is always very professional and personable just like when we had our windows replaced. Very happy with our decision to use Window Nation to do the job from the beginning

We purchased a whole house worth of replacement windows (18 total). Overall the experience was excellent in terms of the product itself, the installation, and the overall process. Unfortunately the pricing was pretty sketchy. We responded to a "buy two windows, get two free" special, but their starting full price for calculating this was $1,800 per window, which as it turns out is nearly three times what these windows should actually cost installed. So if you think you're going to pay $650-$750 per window and get half of them for free, that's not going to happen. We ended up paying in the mid-$14,000s, or just about $800 per window and paid for them all. Of course this is entirely my fault due to lack of negotiating skill, but it certainly doesn't leave me feeling good about the experience. At least the product is decent.

The estimator (Kristian Wilson) was on time, was knowledgeable of the product, and described EVERY detail very well. In fact, because of the salesmanship and introduction to the Wlindow Nation quality, I cancelled 2 more estimates. I was happily convinced. The gentleman from the distribution and installation center came out and re-measured prior to the manufacture of the windows - he was also very professional and knowledgeable with years of impressive service in the profession. In addition, he showed up the day after installation, to check the quality of the work completed. I was really impressed as well by this company policy. The husband/wife team ( Gary and Holly) were sooooo goood. Their experience and capability as installers and knowledge of the products, was very evident. They did not "skip a beat". Additionally they were as polite and concerned about being intrustive in my home as they could possible be. Gary and Holly both explained their roles as a team. The final completion of the outside finishing seemed very difficult. I was advised of the company policy for finishing, which inluded a final caulk around/between the borders and the structure of the outside perimeter. I have stonework around all of my windows, which apparently is very difficult to complete. I could really tell that Gary was very proud of his workmanship. I love the final product windows, and could not recommend the entire process any more sincerely.

You did very well. We are pleased with the structure and appearance of the windows. We found the price to be very reasonable also. The installers were very professional also. Minor point: some debris escaped their notice as well as the inspector’s who came by later. We found two window handles as well as a few nails. Otherwise all was fine!

we were a repeat customer so the sales visit was quick as all that was required was measurements & paperwork. The install was a bit hurried so debris was left outside to include screws & metal offcuts, the interior caulking looks like it was done by a first time DIY. The company is very responsive but might need to do site visits to make sure the installation crews are keeping up standards.

It went great. I'm happy with the windows but think they were overpriced. I agreed so it's on me but next time I need windows, not sure I'll contact WindowNation. I thought the manager Ray was a bit condescending when we negotiated price for windows. Also, when the sales presentation lasted much longer than an hour. I dn't blame the sales rep, she was awesome. I blame Ray and WindowNation for advertising an hour for presentation. Alot to cover in an hour. The installers were great. Courteous, respectful and did a fantastic job. Another issue arose once the windows were involved regarding sales slip I signed while the rep visited and I agreed to purchase. I had to go through a couple attempts to get this detail signed and back to Finance. Seemed odd and I was initially put off by the request. Overall, I'm happy with windows but doubt I'll do business with you again due to Ray's pushy sales technique and the sales slip mishap. Maybe you should start out with lower price versus starting high and taking off 50% - it's another reason I more than likely won't do business with WN in future. Thanks

LOOK AT THE PICTURES. The picture explains it all. My husband and I purchased 22 windows through Window Nation. I woke up one morning to find ICE and FROST on the INSIDE of our windows! We contacted Window Nation with a video of the ICE and their only response was sending us a brochure about humidity inside the house. Really??? First of all, the humidity in the house was LOW. Dry air is a problem during the winter. Second, the rooms were removed from anything that would generate humidity, such as a bathroom. The seal between the upper and lower sash is lousy! The cold seeped through the "seal" causing condensation, which will happen even if the humidity is low. And because the "seal" is so lousy, the condensation FROZE!!! Not only that, the glass felt cold all over because the frame, being cold from the "seal" acted like a heat sink. DO NOT BUY!!! Window Nation did not exert any effort to resolve this problem other than email a brochure. They appear to bail when there is an obvious problem with quality.

We never got to the period of performance because they absolutely do not give full accurate free estimates. Background: met rep at the pittsburgh home show in monroeville pa. We set up an appointment to measure the windows to get said free estimate. They called to confirm, I confirmed. Then, 4 days before the estimate I got a contract to E-sign asking for a 30%-ish deposit. I asked where is the actual estimate and the sales person 'Chris Wellde' said this is it. No one measured anything. No one took into account any special considerations, even looked or tested for problems - in other words - did no due diligence that an actual contractor would. I was told to sign, pay and THEN someone would be by. This is not a 'free estimate' of the work I need done. In fact, it is rather idiotic. AS I informed the rep, it is an estimate to install 4 32x60 windows, none of which fit any position in the house. The rep then told me (and this is beyond bizarre) that they use 'eagle view satellite imagery' to measure the windows from space. 1) eagle view is in fact a company, but they do not use satellite views of anything. They do however have millions of pictures take from planes and drones that estimate roof sizes, property lines and flood zone demarcations. 2) no satellite has the resolution to measure a window within its install tolerance. I know this for a fact because I know the guys who put them in orbit. I have no reason to believe that this process is different from any other customer they have so this explains why the final cost is always blown compared to 'estimate' when you peruse other Angies list reviews. If you read the contract (I have a copy downloaded for reference) you see that it is front loaded for penalty for the buyer - miss the measuring? $75 cash payment please. Miss an install date? $350 cash payment please. No where does it mention penalty for the installer if they miss a date, yet many, if not most of Angies list reviews detail exactly that...missed appointments. I repeated over in over in writing (and saved all plus responses) that I will not sign, nor pay for any work order that does not have a valid and factual statement of work outlined (such as what windows, what size, what trims, what size screws, nails etc), does not have an outlined contractor performance section (they will do what when and how) nor have a strictly defined period of performance (meaning when this will start, when it will end and the penalty if not followed). I read a lot of reviews here where it took days, weeks even months. And of course, according to window nations 'contract' if you back out, you owe anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 of the money ANYWAYS plus any extras. So I assume that is why people stuck it out for days, weeks, months. A valid, real contractor will show up on work day with product and a reasonable amount of supplies. Every mainland US citizen lives within 1 hour of a home improvement store so availability should never be an issue. IF a contractor cannot install a window or door within a few hours start to finish, they are not contractors. So the fact that the contract contains language excusing them is disturbing. And since they do not perform measurements or inspections (for free or otherwise) before issuing a contract, there is no possible way to investigate any hidden issues which are extra. The contract clearly states the sequence of events: remove windows, inspect job site and if issue found, collect cash payment in excess of the contract or give the homeowner 7 days to correct at their own expense. >7 days, you are in forfeiture and you owe the balance in full plus costs. This is unconscionable. Granted some problems may remain well hidden until complete removal, but by not even trying to look - this is negligence. Now to be fair in the interest of full disclosure...I own my own dormant contracting business and have not used it since I took a more lucrative job. I would do this myself but I do not live in the target house. It is a second home over 2 hours away. Going to a jobsite to perform a duty is their job. Going to a jobsite to babysit is an inconvenience, which pushes me to evaluate if the time spent ANYWAYS means order up some pella windows and do it myself. I was willing to pay someone else to save me the trouble so I may be more productive, but not under the stated conditions. Now note, this is not an indictment of their product. You do not get to see the product until you pay for it (which is common for most of the slippery window replacement companies today) and window replacement is one of the top home-scam areas today so you have to shop wisely. I have read no reviews about the windows themselves so we can assume they do the job - no better or worse than any other company. And as for who ACTUALLY glues them in, there are no guarantees who does it so again, it is like every other home improvement contractor out there with no reason to expect better or worse. The problem lies in the 'free estimate' and getting one done accurately so you know up front where this is going cost and time wise. A real contractor can do this. Demand it and never accept a contract without the wording and sections I outline above. Window nation is unable or unwilling to play by these common sense rules (by their own words, in writing) so vote with your wallet - avoid. This contract is YOUR contract as well. Since they intend to only bind you and not themselves, use diligence to amend the contract as required to cover all parties equitably. If they refuse - go elsewhere. There are no shortage of window replacement companies.

He show me a tiny sample. He did not have a brochure. He explain everything. But they have an ad that is a bogo. He gave me a price with a 40% off. but that not a bogo price. If i pay cash it would 15000. but that not a discount. The other company is lower. He told me that i have 30 days. Turns out to 3 days cancel. I cancel on the third day. With a letter by mail. They stated he will send my check through mail. If i did not cancel they would have kept my deposit of 5000. Still haven't received my check. This was Monday. It was high pressure sales. We are very sorry you had this experience with our company. Be assured that you were provided the BOGO offer, as it is valid only on the product portion of the job (not the labor) and amounts to less than the 40% off you received. Our Exterior Design Consultant should have clearly explained this to you, so we apologize that this obviously did not occur. We also apologize about you feeling "pressured" to order from us as that is certainly never our intention. Because of that, we are happy you were able to exercise your right to cancel. Please be assured that you will receive a refund of your deposit within 10 business days.

Overall it went fine, just don't fall for the buy 1 get 1 free garbage. You're going to pay about $1000 a window when all is said and done. Doesn't matter who's selling. They're relatively new to the Pittsburgh area and do the full presentation and want you and your spouse or co-owner, etc. It's really over the top, but we wanted the best quality window. The sale went fine, the followup measure was OK and the guy was professional and courteous. Their communications fell down after that and not sure if we were in-line on the schedule or my calling got us there, but it took a few months for the windows to be manufactured and prepared. Installation was fine, the crew were really good and we're happy with the work. For my taste, a little too much BS and a formulaic sales process.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE FROM START TO FINISH !!! I called Window Nation in the beginning of February 2018 since I saw on TV they had a special going. It was free financing for 18 months and buy two windows, get two free. I scheduled for them to come to my home on 2/21/18. Salesman, Cameron H., arrived and things went well for the first hour or so. He gave his sales pitch about Window Nation and all the "great" awards they have earned over the years and how satisfied other customers have been, etc. He did his rough measuring of our windows and gave us a price quote. My wife and I were happy with the quote so we talked it over and agreed we were ready to do business with Window Nation. What a mistake! I reviewed the paperwork prior to signing and realized Cameron gave us a quote for only 7 windows instead of 8! He realized his mistake and called his supervisor, Ray P. Well, our quote quickly went up by about $700 or so because of adding on the 8th window. We were disappointed with Cameron at that point. It was like the old "bait and switch" sales tactic. I should have just ended it there but Cameron stayed a little longer and we again decided to go with Window Nation since the financing terms were good and our monthly payment did not go up that much with the added 8th window. During Cameron's visit, it was agreed prior to signing the contract that the old windows will be taken out and all materials needed for the install were included with the new windows. A few weeks later, an installer came out to do an exact measurement for the windows. While he was there, he questioned me on what Cameron wrote on the paperwork regarding tearing out the old windows. I told him what Cameron told me....tear the entire window out and replace it with a new window. The installer advised that due to the old style of casement windows, there was going to be a lot of materials needed to install the new windows and it may require an increase in price. Once I heard this, I was very upset. A few hours later, I called Cameron and asked him how this could've happened. He acted as though it wasn't a huge deal and stated he will work on it and get back to me. I called his supervisor, Ray P., since I was not satisfied with Cameron's answer. I told Ray that Cameron apparently did not know what he was doing when he gave us the first quote that we agreed on and signed for. Ray advised he would send out a supervisor of the installation crew to make sure the first installer was correct with the installation process and all the materials supposedly needed. At that point I was very mad and very frustrated with Window Nation because they were basically breaking the contract that I signed and that they agreed on. In the meantime, our (my wife and I) credit was ran for financing and the $560.00 check for down payment was already cashed by Window Nation. A few weeks later a supervisor from the installation crew came to my house and did another exact measurement and verified that a lot more building materials would be needed in order for the windows to be installed correctly. A couple of days after that Cameron contacted me and advised the extra materials would run us an additional $1500.00. So, from the original price of $5300.00 we now were at $7500.00!! (What a bait and switch). We scheduled our install date for 05/01/18 and 05/02/18. My wife took off of work on 05/01 and I took off work on 05/02. They were supposed to arrive between 8:00am - 10:00am on 05/01. At about 10:15 am, my wife called Jennifer (Customer Service) and asked where the installers were. She said that she tried calling us the day before and left a message saying they were short staffed and were going to send two crews to do the job on 05/02. I never received any phone call or message whatsoever saying they would not be coming on 05/01. So basically Jennifer lied to us. A install crew showed up on 05/02 at 8:00am. At about 8:30 am the crew leader advised us that the windows could not be installed because they were all measured incorrectly by the install supervisor that came out for the second measuring. The same install supervisor who measured the windows showed up during all of this due to the crew leader contacting him via phone. The supervisor and the install crew had a meeting outside and then the supervisor left. The crew leader came back in and said that they were able to now install them "magically". They installed two windows and the crew leader then told me that he was not going to continue the job because the windows were measured incorrectly and he would feel horrible knowingly putting the wrong size windows in. They measured the windows again that same day and said they were going to push the factory for a rush order and hopefully they would be back within two weeks. I was pretty much sick to my stomach at this point and my wife was in tears. Jennifer called me a few hours after the install crew left and said they were going to rush the windows and scheduled me for 05/14/18. On 05/14 the same install crew arrived at 8:00 am and finished the job to our satisfaction, other than smashing my roof vent (they fixed it after I asked them to). I honestly have to say the install crew was the only somewhat positive note of this whole nightmare. Window Nation NEVER offered to compensate us in any way, shape, or form during this 3 month ordeal. Ray, Cameron, and some other guy that showed up on the job (who said he was a customer satisfaction consultant) never called us back asking us how things went with the install. We feel Window Nation is unprofessional, misleading, they lie, and don't care about their customers...they just want their money!!! If you are considering Window Nation, I would HIGHLY recommend reconsidering your decision. Do your research on them because you will see other reviews very similar to ours.

WARNING: BEWARE OF DOING BUSINESS WITH WINDOW NATION! My husband and I chose Window Nation out of Monroeville, PA (near Pittsburgh) to install 21 new Potomac windows in our home because they were advertising a buy 1 can 1 free deal. After the windows were installed, we heard from a very reliable source that the ACTUAL cost of our windows were about $600 a piece. Ours figured out to be $1,037 per window with parts and labor WITH the buy 1 get 1 free deal. It figures out to about $2,074 per window WITHOUT the deal! Two of our windows were very small picture windows and they charged us $1,179 per window WITH the buy 1 get 1 deal. This means that each of those small windows would be $2,358 WITHOUT the buy 1 get 1 deal! I spoke with a guy from Vytex (the window manufacturer) and he confirmed that our window costs about $600 per window! My husband decided to anonymously call Window Nation to ask what the price was for the same size Potomac Window that we had installed. The woman tried to avoid the question for quite some time until my husband insisted on an answer. She finally confirmed what we already knew....about $600 per window. I then decided to do some research and emailed a woman who had 1 Potomac window installed from Window Nation. She replied saying that her Window cost her about $670. I'm guessing they hope nobody calculates the cost per window on a larger job. We felt very cheated! My husband spoke to the sales manager, Ray Price, many times. As he tried to justify the amount, numbers did not add up. We asked for a price breakdown right from the start and they would not provide one. After a month of pleading with them and corresponding back and forth via email, Mr. Price finally sent it to me. We are astounded by the individual price of each window! We certainly do not agree with the price per window....especially after hearing many times over what the TRUE cost of each window was. For a company who tries to obtain 100% customer satisfaction, they definitely failed with us. Mr. price turned our complaint over to his boss, Shawn Gallagher, the Regional Sales Manager. I insisted that the only way we would continue to communicate is via email and I never received one single email from Mr. Gallagher. I strongly advise NOT TO USE WINDOW NATION! They are the epitome of "The Middle Man!" We should've went with Window World as we have since learned that basically the same windows are considerably cheaper through them. Always ask for a cost breakdown before moving forward with any project! I pray nobody ever has to deal with overpaying like we did! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND WINDOW NATION AND WILL SHARE MY STORY ENDLESSLY!
