Worst contractor ever - DO NOT USE! We contacted ServPro based on their frequent commercials after coming home from the shore to find 4 inches of water in our basement. This was due to a power surge we had after a storm which tripped the breaker for our sub-pump. Initially we were relieved as ServPro said they could have a crew at our house within 2 hours. They asked if we had insurance, who was our agent and did we have a rider for water? - fortunately we were properly insured and they offered to speak with our insurance agent. Before ServPro arrived my husband was able to turn the breaker on and reactive the sub-pump and removed the majority of the water, however now we had to deal with the water damaged done to our finished basement. ServPro arrived and walk the basement and took inventory and did an estimate of the work to be completed. After speaking with our insurance agent they gave us an estimate which was the exact amount of our coverage -- said it would be a few days but that they would do a complete turnkey service and I quote the service technician told us "we will replace everything like it never happened". They told us this would include remediation of all of the water, removal and disposal of the sheet rock, the carpeting and padding and treatment for mold and moisture. They also said there services would also include cleaning of our furniture and steam cleaning of our floors and that the entire process would take about 5 days. They asked us to sign an electronic quote on an iPAD and then asked us to complete a survey even though they had not even started the work. To date we have never received a copy of the estimate nor was an electronic copy provided to use despite multiple requests. We gave them a deposit to begin the work. After 8 days - we still had water on the floor! ServPro had completely destroyed our basement, left many piece of our furniture laying on wet flooring, broke artwork and picture frames, destroyed the power supply for the treadmill and Peloton, ripped our bathroom vanity out of the wall instead of unscrewing the wall anchor, cracker the granite back splash, almost caused a fire by allowing unsecured plastic to get caught in the air handlers, repeatedly tripped our breakers, blew out the pilot light on our hot water heater, left drywall screws and nails all over the floor, never properly protected our floor and front door despite multiple requests for them to put down plastic or a drop cloth and destroyed the wood floors in our foyer by dragging heavy machinery across the floors, left buckets outside our front door, removed expensive gym mats from our home which have not been returned, broke sports memorable that my husband had in his sport bar, the wall cable jack were ripped out of the wall and the cable are missing, all of the face plates were left scattered on the floor. They also did not remove the content of our basement as they committed to. My husband and I spent days removing all of contents of the basement left on wet floors, they never moved bins in our basement, they never cleaned the floor and left drywall debris, insultation everywhere. Most concerning is their lack of concern for our health while we are at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic one of the technicians showed up without a facemask and laughed when we asked him to put a mask on. To add insult to injury they left the front door open allowing a bird to fly into our home which defecate on our furniture. You can’t make this up – I still can’t believe this is the experience we are having with ServPro. To make matters worse ServPro left the job unfinished, when we tried to schedule a meeting with them to try and resolve our outstanding issues 2 guys showed up demanding payment for an amount that we did not agree to, never received an invoice for and had no opportunity to review. When we asked for a copy and said that we were not prepared to sign off on the work completed they left our home and threatened to turn us over to collections even thought we have no signed paperwork, no invoices and still do not have a final estimate. We have had to hire a second contractor to complete the work that ServPro did not complete and will probably end up in litigation with this company. Do yourself a huge favor and do not call ServPro! They only make matter so much worse…

Description of Work: I had a dish washer leak and damage my vinel kitchen floor. They came and ripped up the damaged part and dryed it out. That part went very well. They were very professional. I needed to replace the floor, so they came back and ripped the rest of the floor. This did not go well. They sent one tech over and he really needed help, but he was alone. The walls were damaged and wallpaper torn. He did the best he could and I was able to do the repairs myself. I would use them again they know their business I'm sure this doen't happen often. |The whole thing was covered by Insurance, so I can't complain much

I broke the job into three stages with each being performed by a different person. Overall the quality of the work done in all three stages was excellent with a couple exceptions. The remediation work which entailed opening the walls, drying things out and remediating the mold, went well. The worker(s) did quality work, were respectful of my home and cleaned up well. Replacing the drywall also went very well. The patches were seamless. I was very pleased with that work. However, that particular worker did a very poor job of cleaning up. I cleaned behind him more than I've done with any other worker. The wallpapering was done by a sub-contractor. There were issues with the scheduling somewhat on my part but mainly on his. However, he did high quality work, was very personable and again was very respectful of my home using drop clothes and taking other precautions. The last stage was the painting. I was satisfied overall. However, again, the quality of the worker's cleanup left a lot to be desired. In additon, the worker did not paint the window sill but did paint the woodwork around the door. I didn't notice it until after he left and didn't make a big deal out of it as I was just glad to have the work done. I mentioned it to the project manager who dismissed my concern. The main problem I had was during the two week delay in getting the wall paper fininshed (again partly due to my schedule) I asked the project manager to at least finish the upstairs bath as it was just going to be painted. He refused stating they wanted to do all the painting at one time. Mind you, during this project, which took approximately one month from start to finish, the toilets in both bathrooms were disconnected as well as the sink in one. The only remaining bath was in the master bedroom, which meant guest had to go into the bedroom to use it. Consequently, I did not invite any quests over during the holidays. I felt Servpro could have been a little more accomodating in finishing the one bathroom. Another issue was that the worker who did the restoration did not always come prepared with the required materials. One day I picked up the paint. Other days the manager would deliver the materials a hour or so after the worker arrived. All over the quality of the work was excellent but I am not sure that I would use this company again due to the scheduling issues, not having the materials ready, and poor cleanup of the one worker.
Description of Work: The job related to a water pipe leak in the wall of an upstairs bathroom that leaked into the powder room below. It entailed cutting out and replacing sheet rock, drying out and dehumidifying, and remediating mold in both bathrooms. The restoration included wallpapering the powder room and painting the upstairs bathroom.
